Humidity in Kolkata is nothing new, it's been going on forever. Entirely south eastern part bengal is like that. The thing is due to climate change the temperatures have increased gradually year by year for last decades. So high temperature + high humidity resulted this thing. It's not entirely due to cutting trees and everything, those factors are responsible for all over India and the world. But Kolkata is king 👑 in humidity aka wet sweaty weather among top cities so people get mixed up both issues and get confused and blame every little thing which is a requirement for urbanisation. Climate change is not in hand of Kolkata and it's political party. So even if Kolkata wasn't existed and imagine here is a deep jungle or small village, the result would be the same as of today. Wherever these high humidity regions exist in the planet will suffer more due to climate change. Actually desert heat is more comfortable than Kolkata like humid region cause desert heat maybe higher up in scale in case of temperature but low in humidity resulting in a dry heat which is very much comfortable than wet sweaty heat.
Construction must be stop and all residents of Kolkata must come out and sow seed for plantation for future of Kolkata. Trees have the power to absorb heat and turn it into cool Breeze.

West Bengal government do nothing for environment, latkhs of trees , thousand of ponds have vanished by local government to build illegal buildings. Old diesel and petrol engine cars , buses, trucks freely roaming in Kolkata, government don't take any action against them. Electric vehicles are not promoting widely and new electric subsidy is giving by government.
Time has come when All people should Reduce or stop using Fossil fuel (petrol, diesel) based internal combustion engine (Ice) vehicles too much and use them only if necessary. People must use cycles, electric vehicles or walk to their destination and shouldn't take out vehicles every now and then just to show others proudly that they've vehicles. It's the question of environment and health that people must understand before driving vehicles too much and must think about Children that poisonous gases from vehicles will have serious health problems to everyone. Also the old technology internal combustion engine vehicles are too much noisy creating Noise pollution along with air pollution. For example, the Bullet bikes working on diesel create too much noise than petrol bikes and both diesel and petrol gases are harmful. These gases also increase the temperature creating global warming so we use ACs more in summer which creates further heat and global warming
Why would the Government bother with these? Our government is more interested in PR and criminal activities. They are the last person to think about development. Because development and growth is not good for this government.
