New Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AEB...
The tensioner is a springed device that keeps the serpentine belt in your vehicle at the correct tension to keep it on the pulleys, without being so tight that it breaks. Eventually the tensioner may become worn, loose, or stuck, resulting in belts that squeak, slip, or fall off. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ tensioner pulley in your 2008-2012 Chevy Malibu.

Just did this job yesterday on my son's 2009 Chevy Malibu. Took me about an hour, had to get a new replacement motor mount otherwise about a 30 minutes job if you're in no hurry. I did not remove the motor mount bracket from the engine. I was able to get the belt tensioner off and out with very minimal clearance, just wiggle it a bit and out it comes. Removing the motor mount bracket would make it easier to locate the location when putting in the new one but I managed to get it in there. Now after replacing the tensioner and motor mount his car starts up and runs so much quieter. 164,000 miles, leaks a little oil but it gets him to school and work.

This video is doing it the hard way it's much easier to remove the splash shield and do it from underneath you do not need to remove any engine mounts or the air filter box. Just remove the splash shield from the bottom and you can reach it just fine I've done it on a few

You dont have to remove the engine mount retainer from the engine block at 2:10 the pulley will squeeze out (I just completed this replacement today). Make sure you dont drop the tensioner bolt into the air box intake or you will have to remove the front bumper like I did....SO fill that in with rags prior to starting this job

Works on 2009 pontiac g6. Might be easier to take off tire?I did mine this way and it was pretty easy.I think you might get by just removing the motor mount but not the block bracket. It was only 4 bolts so I removed it any way. Thanks it was a great help.

On Chevy or Malibu the engine block mount bolts are torque yield. You can't use the same bolt again!!

@@348frank348 this video is a good idea for the basic gist of it. In case you haven't gotten yours yet I just did my 11 regal turbo and it really only took an hour tops being methodical and adjusting a few of the steps from this video.
