Thank you.I did something like that 3 hours ago. One extra I did was a wire pull the belt upward and A SCREW driver to flip it and a bar to jack the tensioner, hard though.......managed to changed the belt. Amigo.
This is a quite effective trick given you have enough working room. It is rather not so straight forward on most car models; especially if you have little to no working room.
Thank you Lyn; Thanks to you last evening I got my alternator belt on. event dough after losing my tensioner screw all the way, I still couldn't put my belt on just by using my hands. ( In my case I changed my alternator on a Dodge Stratus Rt 3.0) (This kind of cars has a tensioner screw ) Thank you very much again and Blessings!
As a woman learning to do her own mechanics, I fully support women in videos. But holy fxck! He needs to keep her out his videos. I don’t care, divorce her ass if ya need to. But I came into this video hoping to put my belt on, half way through I was so annoyed distracted and confused I couldn’t remember what the video was about 😂
And looks like they have a leak somewhere as well freaking crazy how dumb people can be if there is not the right tension the belt they will run into all sorts of problems I mean wow!!
then you scoop it up, you scoop it up.. this is now the sound playing in my head every time I buy crypto dips 🤣 on a real note I hope noone tries to put their belt on like this unless you're stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere on a sunday.
That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen... and on this edition of crackhead mechanics we watch the crackhead shove a screw driver under a new belt onto a broken pulley and toasted water pump!
Original FoMoCo Poly-V belt broke at 55,000 mi. Ford dealers didn't have any in stock. AutoZone, Advance, O'Reilly's, NAPA, Bumper to Bumper didn't have one. AZ actually had one by size but not by application! Installed it w/o the special tools. Regular socket (18mm) wouldn't go in. Got a through socket set at Harbor Freight for $20 shorty socket just barely fit! Turned the crank while guiding the belt onto the generator (slang: "alternator") pulley by main force. No guiding tools, no sandpaper tricks.
It gives me hope that I can do my belt, I have no breaker bar and can't move the tensioner, it's a different set up for the belt, but I'll use the new water pump I installed as leverage 😂
TO ALL OF US WHO WATCH THIS VIDEO ..SHE DID EXCELLENT JOB WITH BULL..S,,, VIDEO LIKE THIS PEOPLE GET PAY FOR POSTING VIDEO LOOK THE RESPONSE 273,300 VIEWS AND KEEP GOING UP NOT SO BAD GIRL I THINK YOU FOOL US ALL LOL THIS VIDEO WORKS AT LEST FOR HER LOL
It worked for me but I did get the 2 screwdrivers stuck between the belt and the pulley so I left them there for next time. The engine was a little noisy on startup but seems to have settled.
Maybe we should ask the question why did it slip off to start with? Maybe that water pump hub dancing in the wind is the issue 😅 fix the water pump fix the problem or get good a putting the belt on with a screw driver lol
Just keep a ring spanner in the car which matches the auto tensioner pulley bolt size. That way you just use that spanner to crank the tensioner loose as required whenever you like
I live in a tiny town were even told like that are rarely for sale. You can order them online but with current B's that takes months. I used a floor jack as a third arm.
Need new Alt - stripped 19mm tensioner nut frm replacing wtr pump month ago-used 3/4 scket & got belt off-replaced Alt & got new tensioner arm -have to Jack engine up to get only 2 tensioner bolts out- I’m in park lot at Starbucks so I want to blow up car now or find a hack to get belt on alt with old stripped nut tensioner arm and have about a nano micro area to work with!
Where I come from, we call this "Nag-splaining"... oh, and corner-cutting. I usually just stop what I am doing and hand the tools to the "nag" in question and say, "fine, its so easy, go ahead, I'ma get me a beer now."
@@brutusbigman8952 the tensioner pulley has 1/2in square hole... I used the floor jack and the weight of the to push the pulley into place while I got the pulley on. It worked surprisingly well.
Am more concerned about the people in the comments not mentioning the broken water pump pulley that is making it easy to put the belt on without a tool
That bearing on the water pump is fried. look at all the play at around 2:44. Can't wait to see what tricks are up her sleeve that........... Lady you..... nevermind, don't want to make a novel on everything I see wrong.
First thing I noticed was the broken plastic pulley and then prying the belt on the pulleys and then the bad waterpump and I thought OMG. The name if this video should be "This is how not to put on a serpentine belt ". Some people want the Mercedes but cant afford to have them maintained properly , so they have to do the best they can , to get by . I'm thinking that they didn't know how to loosen the tensioner ; it would have been a lot easier and then been adjusted correctly.
You must be very experienced doing this, I can't see the belt lasting very long after being abused like that. There's only one way to do this job, that's the right way... this isn't it.
I partly disagree with all the commenters below I thought it was a great video, but I also could not get through the half of it... it's such a terrible video, "...heres the best part" 😂
My o my sure would be lovely to have that much room to work with. Holy hell. I have not even finger width room to work with. You can fit a damn bathtub in all that space.
Do not do this. Harbor Freight has the Serpentine Belt Tool for $18. Don't risk damaging your vehicle more. Let's eradicate ignorance . if you took your vehicle to a mechanic ,and he/she said he gonna scoop it up. You would probably wanna take it somewhere else. Take it to someone who can actually name the parts. Not some random RUclipsr who can't speak proper English and has damaged serpentine belt pulleys from scoopin it up
Pretty easy job on these engines which are rear wheel drive / 4WD. Because the pulley side is facing you with lots of working room. I’ve done this job on a few GM front wheel drive cars, with the pulley assembly to the left side of the engine, with about 3 cm working room🥵. Extremely difficult to do by yourself, as you can’t see shit, nor can you get your hands fully in there. A lot of torn knuckles and swearing got it done lol
Yea this is great & all but my car doesn’t have that much room to maneuver a screw driver, barely even a small socket between the pulley & the wheel well/overflow. There’s no way this will work on my Camry. Sad day.
what the hell are you doing? Your waterpump is broken, your pully is broken, you did not prepare yourself for the video and youre way too damn nervous. I think I found out why people claim german cars are unreliable. You guys just throw parts at a problem hoping it goes away but fail to notice the real problem that caused a part to break.
hey..... don't scoop..... you got a bad pulley bell and you are stressing the BELT. did not enjoy the video.... really bad advice.... are you too checp to buy a $15 tool to install properly??
Never saw the end because I shot myself in the face.
Good.
I didn't even make it halfway thru the vid.😋
God I couldn't stand to listen to that
I'm more impressed that you were still able to write a comment

How to ruin a new belt: a tutorial
He hatin !!
Maybe for this model car.
A lot of other cars don't have the space to do this. Obscured by the body of the car or other parts.
Yesss sideways motors🙄🙄
THANK YOU. I wanted to punch myself in the face after watching this.
Thank you for showing us how to install the serpentine belt. It saves us money by learning how to do it ourselves.
Wow look at the play in the water pump and the broken jockey wheel that's why the belt came off in the first place lol
my first thoughts too lol

with that space i could do that belt in 5 mins , try a hyundai sonata 2.4 real tight!
Thanks for the hack!! Totally helped us 😄🙌

Gotta be a joke 😂
Why didn't you use the lug wrench, to release the tension on the belt tensioner, I believe they are both 17 mm?
broken pully and waterpump. No wonder she did not have to release the tension pully.
Thanks for the info!!. This method worked for me on my Kia Soul
Yeah that's a good way to warp a pulley or harmonic balancer real quick.
Maybe we should ask the question why did it slip off to start with? Maybe that water pump hub dancing in the wind is the issue 😅 fix the water pump fix the problem or get good a putting the belt on with a screw driver lol
I hope you changed the Water pump before starting it ,Bearings are shot , PS you can do the ssme thing at the idler .
The trick is get some else to do it lol!
See?

17mm socket and a breaker bar is all you need to turn the tensioner. It’s not a special tool. Right tool for the right job.

Damn I didn't even think of that one. I used a half inch drive wrench and a floor jack.
How
@@brutusbigman8952 the tensioner pulley has 1/2in square hole... I used the floor jack and the weight of the to push the pulley into place while I got the pulley on. It worked surprisingly well.

That's how you damage all your shit nice job not only will the belt snap off prematurely it's also dangerous👌
Am more concerned about the people in the comments not mentioning the broken water pump pulley that is making it easy to put the belt on without a tool
Scoop it up scoop it up scoop it up.... scoop scoop ......scoop it up scoop it up scoop it up .... no tools....
I think you broke the top idler pulley - looks like it's missing a bit chunk.
Not sure if it was the idler pulley but yeah...definitely looks broken.
When they say I know a mechanic just fucked that mans Mercedes
That bearing on the water pump is fried. look at all the play at around 2:44. Can't wait to see what tricks are up her sleeve that........... Lady you..... nevermind, don't want to make a novel on everything I see wrong.

You're worried about a serpentine belt, when your water pump pulley is shot. Lol. Fix that with no tools
You must be very experienced doing this, I can't see the belt lasting very long after being abused like that. There's only one way to do this job, that's the right way... this isn't it.
Saving money on labor we can buy as many belts we want 🤣
What? Serpentine belts handle the pressure of an engine, I guarantee you’re not gonna hurt one unless you really try to
Doesn't cardi B have enough money to just pay someone to fix her car tho??
I partly disagree with all the commenters below I thought it was a great video, but I also could not get through the half of it... it's such a terrible video, "...heres the best part" 😂
I found that the lady in the video has more balls than the pussies in comments. At least she tried. The video made me smile, good entertainment.
The real help rn would be removing belt without the tool. Putting it on is easy
I disagree. Cut the bad belt off. Putting it on has taken me hours
Did you used tools?
Good job...will try that way
Plzz help Brother... How many belt size... Say now..
Number size
Hmmmmm guess I'm in trouble huh??? Gotta do it myself awwww... just see me cry...
Changed the idler pulley. Tensioner pulley was okay.
Probably should be Listed as an EMERGENCY FIX when you absolutely have to do it that way due to not having the right tools to do it properly.
My o my sure would be lovely to have that much room to work with. Holy hell. I have not even finger width room to work with. You can fit a damn bathtub in all that space.
Black bird singing in the dead of the night reggae song

nO tOoLS, No ToOlS.
if you depress the belt tensioner, no need for tight fit
I know 😂😂😅.. I mean.. tensioner but she's installing it like a stretch belt. Wheres the need for "special tools" 😂
How to get the fan clutch off
The idler pulley is chipped and the water pump is fucked, do shit the right way
Exactly how Mercedes intended

That tensior looks super loose and it appears to be damaged.

Oh shit no. This is a doggy work. Your damaging the belt and the pully. Well good luck with your merc.
