Sting is at his best, when he puts himself in someone else's shoes and tell their story the way he imagine it. (moon over bourbon street(a vampire), im so lonely, i cant stop crying(a part time father), roxanne (a man in love with a prostitute)......and it goes on. I´m getting this record from this amazing poet and musician.

I grew up with his music! My parents always put The Police and Sting's albums in the house, and i'll always be thankful for that! I prefer his music to the 'music', if it can be called music, that is popular nowadays.
My favorite album of Sting happens to be The Soul Cages, the new album sounds like a revisit and if so it would be a fabulous album in my opinion. Cannot wait to get it in my hands. As per Sting, lots of surprises in store.
Nice to re-watch this one year later. It sounded promising already last June, but I had no idea how soul stirring the album would turn out. Right now the "Ship" is being launched in Chicago and polished for Broadway. I am certain it will conquer the hearts of all us lads and lassies.

Yeah I hear you...Putting people back to work.... having lost some good jobs to outsourcing and buyouts....being 60 it is almost an impossibility here in the states...not much left being made here so you just take care of your family til the end.....I have all your work and you are beyond great....continue for us please.

I loved all of Sting's albums, from Outlandos d'Amour up to Mercury Falling. But I just don't know anymore. Ever since Brand New Day, he makes it harder and harder for me to like his music.
I agree. Be a gadfly, by all means, but write within the pop/rock-4-piece-band context. Him, Vinnie and Dominic. You can't go wrong with that chemistry. And no electronic beats or instruments. Ever. But I can appreciate his desire for constant discoveries whenever and wherever. Music is a purely and perfectly selfish thing.

Probably, "The Last Ship" is Sting's most underestimated song. Give it a chance and you will be lost inside of it.
