It would essentially be an action movie, action movies also tend to have stupid plots and nonsense writing. I really don't mind it, it's fun and the dialogue and characters that Rockstar delivers is always god-tier
i think michael saying his iconic line was him getting back into his "criminal" character. michael says many times in the story how he ENJOYS the chaos of the life he's living currently and hated the mundane retirement. when michael said the iconic line, he most likely was filled with ego after successful robbing a store just like his old days and either mistakenly said the line or said it due to his chaotic desiring self taking over, returning to his old self. like michael said before the heist, he assumed trevor was dead, he thought trevor was too crazy to live all this time.
Entire situation is total bs. Michael on his ego trip making noob mistakes, tv interviewing that guard (police would never allow disclosing important details and witnesses), the guard remembered the line perfectly, and finally Trevor watching this particular channel in that particular time in some trailer in a middle of nowhere while banging Johnny's girlfriend?! Sadly, the whole story and almost every scene is like this.... R* spend billion on game development, but they can't hire a half decent writers... and not just R*, Hollywood, tv shows, they write stories with zero logic for stupefied masses.
One that kinda bothers me is that we are told that Sandy Shores is quite far away from Los Santos thus is why Michael and Trevor never accidentally found or heard of each other before. Yet every mission after where we head from the city to sandy shores its treated like just a little bit away. They go all the way there just for a helicopter just to fly it back to los santos, look at some trucks they could easily look at from the street, and then fly all the way back and then they both (Trevor and Lestor) have to go back to Los Santos to plan the heist Also the Humane Lab raid requires a cargobob yet in a heist before this we just got one from the base. A lone man invaded a united states military base to steal 1 slow helicopter and the most they send after him is a buzzard or 2
that’s a good observation about Los Santos and Sandy Shores being close to each other, but maybe in their world they didn’t have a reason to visit the city and countryside vice versa. it’s not really reasonable for an almost 50 year old Trevor to travel to a city just being a tourist
@@dramaticvirghoe True, but as the CEO of Trevor Phillips Incorporated i assume he would want to expand his business and do dealings with the Ballas, Vagos, Kkangpae, and various other gangs there. Also we see in Online that Trevor does go to Los Santos to at least talk to the online protagonists about the Series A heist (which takes place 3 months before Single Player). You can even set up the apartment a block or 2 away from Michaels house (although he does operate mostly on the west side under the highway so yeah they wouldn't really be crossing paths there)
I wouldn't say that's entirely true. During the underwater approach for the Merryweather heist, both Franklin and Michael complain about how far they have to drive to get to Trevor's airfield
I might be remembering this wrong, but when wade and Trevor first went to los santos, I think someone said it’s about a 4 hour drive? That’s not THAT long of a drive for Americans, especially full time career criminals with no other obligations or restrictions.
this is why I always just raid the port its too much of a trip for nothing, besides I dont wanna go to no fucking flying school , gta sa already traumatized me besides WE ALREADY HAVE A PILOT
1. How did Tanisha knew that Lamar got set up before Franklni when she wasn't even in the hood anymore? 2. Does Wade never leave the couch at the stripclub? Not even to eat or take a dump? 3. Why does no one lay low after the Paleto Bay and Union Depository heists? They made it more of a big deal robbing a jewlery store than millions of dollars in gold bricks.
1. At the time, I'm pretty sure Tanisha still contacted and worried about Lamar's well-being and noticed he hadn't been around recently, or because it was just a video game 2. Might seem like I'm scraping the bottom of the bucket, but Wade probably moves and does basic human functions when off-screen. If you shoot up the strip club, everyone including Wade runs away meaning he isn't stuck or anything, or maybe because it's just a game 3. FIB got their backs, or maybe because it's just a game Edit, the reply below me serves a valid point, dirty cops would care about the Paleto Bay bank, sending more funding towards keeping it safe, and wouldn't want to reveal too much of it, for the same reason, killing two birds with one stone. It also being government-planned, sort of, probably helped the protagonists not think of needing to lay too low. One reason why Micheal laying low at the Vangellica Job and not the Plaeto might be because he lives down the street to Vangellico, but across the state to Paleto Bay, Makin him not worried about anything going wrong
1. i agree with what the first reply said and also the fact that franklin basically said "everybody knew stretch knew" or something along those lines suggesting everybody connected in the hood was aware of the OG stretch's intentions. 2. yea i think it's just implied offscreen for video game shenanigans. 3. i think because the vangelico heist was in the city therefore would be a big deal in the media compared to a bank in the sticks hoarding cops dirty money that they probably wouldn't want covered in the media. for the union depository, im not so sure. possibly because (and this is just a wild guess) whoever was in charge didn't want the media to know hundreds of millions were just stolen
1. Lamar most likely told her and if she's smart enough to leave Franklin she's smart enough to know it's a setup 2. I'm sure the strippers pur cream on their titties 3. Because it's in Paleto Bay and the cops do not give a shit
@@thegamingvillager2392 Medals (Bronze, Silver and Gold) basically just tell how well you performed in a mission according to the game. There are some fun ones, but also really annoying ones, like Time and Accuracy.
I have about 2,000 hours in Grand Theft Auto (with 1,800 of those mostly in single-player), so I’ll go over a few of your points and share my perspective: 1. Your first point about the BOLO for the car makes sense, I can't really think of an argument against that. 2. Michael was looking for a target that wasn’t too big but would still make millions. It's likely that the jewelry store is the only place around Los Santos that sells high-quality gems. The store being near Michael's house in Rockford Hills might have just been coincidental, as Michael says during the Merryweather Heist, "That store's just down the road from my house." 3. Michael's famous quote comes from a classic Vinewood movie, so it’s very possible that it’s just a phrase he’s been using for decades. After rolling with many people, he might not have thought about the consequences of saying it. However, it’s more likely that Rockstar used it as a way to set up Trevor finding out that Michael is still alive. 4. Once again, Michael playing dead was likely just an oversight on Rockstar's behalf. They might have thought, "Eh, it’ll be fine," although I do agree it’s a bit unrealistic. 5. While I'm not 100% confident, the reason they likely didn’t follow the train is because most of the military was dead and they started to back off. Plus, Chef was giving them a break, and they probably thought the gang was with Chef, as he says during the mission, "They think there’s more than one of me." 6. It probably would have taken too long to set up a roadblock, and the trucks left as it was happening. Although it wasn’t very smart of the cops not to follow them into the tunnel, they do mention getting a ground team in there. 7. I’m not going to comment on the Merryweather Heist point, as I’m not 100% sure what you’re referring to. 8. When Lester wires the money, it’s likely not right after the heist. In-game, it’s probably about a month or so later, though there’s no way of proving that, due to the way time works in GTA. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was a bit after. Plus, Rockstar likely did this because there’s only one mission after this, and they didn’t want players who only play for the missions to wonder, "Where’s my money?" and stop playing after the missions.
Why Michael (and Franklin) didn't just eliminate Madrazo? He was there with only one bodyguard (armed with a baseball bat)? And what was that tennis coach doing in Madrazo's girlfriend house in the first place?? Oh what was Michael doing in the backseat of Jimmy's car when Franklin broke into their house? +million more
@@bdleo300 Michael and franklin couldnt eliminate madrazo because he was a kingpin and they would pretty much be exiled from LS permantly along with blaine county too. we saw the result during the paleto score part of the game. as for why the tennis coach was in one of madrazos freinds house, its likely the tennis coach knew this person and was hiding there, although im uncertain i believe michael was hiding in jimmys car to catch amanda cheating on the tennis coach as when you go downstairs you can see them... im not going into detail but you can clearly see shes not learning tennis..
the first point for the bolo is so idiotic to me. Michael stole it and stashed it somewhere for Lester, it's not out of the question that Lester simply got rid of it with his skills.
i want to explain a bit why michael felt like it wasnt risky to say his signature line; it’s because for one, it was a quote from a movie, that he made his own. for two, he was a notorious bank robber, that had fans, that subsequently knew his lore/ lines or tactics he used, that were signature to him. so realistically, there is a possibility a fan could have said this signature line, during a heist, because they idolized michael. for three, without speculating, it is certain fact, that michael goes into quite a lot of detail explaining to lester, during the planning of the vangelico heist, that michael believes that trevor is dead. him knowing the type of person trevor is, he felt that if trevor were still alive, he certainly would have been looking for, or found michael already. but, also doing a bit of speculation, i feel that michael probably thought that a news reporter, interviewing the witness that says michael’s line, to the reporter, wouldn’t give trevor any more incentive than he already had to find/ continue looking for michael, IF he was still alive. but, what michael didn’t know, is that trevor was still alive. and, trevor truly thought michael was dead. hence, why that news report triggered the beginning of trevor’s true search, for michael. lmk what y’all think! 👇
@@Mrguy145Not exactly. The quote made Trevor suspicious. It gave him that gut feeling it was Michael. He pauses mid shaboinking session when he hears it on TV. Yeah, he can’t honestly be 100% certain after just hearing that quote but it’s a catalyst. Plus, Trevor is also unhinged enough that if it’s not Michael, it’s someone trying to imitate him which would probably send him into a fit of rage anyways.
Haha glad you pointed out how dumb the merry weather heist was in hindsight 😂 *Steals super weapon using yellow submarine after giant shootout* *Throws tarp over it* No super weapon here 🤷🏽♂️
I always bring it up when people defend Trevor as being intelligent. He's not stupid, but he's certainly no Tesla for wanting to steal something that likely came from Area 69. He's also not insane, just emotionally unhinged. I feel like this heist is just a middle finger to Saints Row's over-the-top nature, with Rockstar basically saying, "We can do insane as well, only far better than you." It's also to show what a lunatic Trevor is.
I remember in GTA 4 Tbogt where, in a mission, Luis talked with his friends about how dumb the police in LC were and why crime is insanely high there. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same problem in GTA 5 since what he was saying isn't wrong.
Okay I'm about to analyze the hell out of this and explain some things. 1: Yes that's a very good point. Lazy writing on Rockstar. They probably just needed a good ending for the Jewel Store Heist and a way for the characters to go out to not drag out as you said. 2: By taking a long and needless look at Google maps and what people think Michael's house is based off of, it's about a half an hour drive to the Vangelico store (as in game) from Michael's house. Around 7-8 miles. Whether it's too close is up to the person seeing the distance. Definitely a scaling issue as it's 118 miles to where people think Mount Chiliad is based off to Michael's house and so scaled up, the San Andreas entire map in real life is probably 140 miles, give or take. This is a VERY rough estimate as I can't be assed to take the time to map all of the locations in Los Angeles to triangulate different distances to real life. So, given that we're scaling 140 miles (give or take by like 20 miles) into an 8.5 mile map from top to bottom, I'd say the distance scaled to the Jewel Store to Michael's House is accurate and if we're thinking the game characters are thinking that distance, I don't think it'd be too close for Michael. 3. Michael wanted to believe Trevor was dead. It had been 9 years since the Ludendorff heist. Michael was not thinking about "Oh maybe Trevor would remember this one line I said a decade ago, because it'd happen to be on the news" All Michael was thinking in that situation is: "There's this guy that's about to blow our job, we need to threaten him somehow, oh there's that one line I remember "You forget a thousand things everyday pal, make sure this is one of them" that's cool af." He wasn't aware that Trevor was gonna find him from that because Trevor's whereabouts was still very unknown and Michael had told himself that Trevor could not have survived years ago to get worry off his back. Michael just said it cuz he felt cool. 4. Dave is part of the FIB, he had people at the FIB associated with all types of people to get Michael in under the radar and out of the books, he definitely would have made it to the body bag stage with ease. Also Michael was knocked out. Very poor work ethic and irresponsible morticians though. 5. This is absolutely valid questioning. It's definitely just an oversight by rockstar. (also not called the humane labs raid, it's called Monkey Business) 6. Also 100%. Think Rockstar was just under time constraints and doing everything extra while limited by the hardware of the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles had to make it so that heists were cut down so they could fit the game. 20 gigabytes was considered big back then. 7. Not gonna say much because you're right about the merryweather heist. However, it's probably less of a scaling issue and more of Rockstar not wanting the player to travel for half an hour in a slow ass submarine. 8. I hate saying this but: It's a game. The game would be tedious as hell if every heist had to be laundered over months and months. Technically, Lester didn't wire it straight away and only until Ending A, B or C is complete, they're actually given money and having separate banks to keep track of and all that for story mode. There's a fine line between realism and fun, that'd just make the game boring. All round decent video my dude. Some parts could be explained if you just thought a bit more. Overall, these 8 points are just a fraction of GTA 5's story and everything else makes sense.
In the mission where davey knocks out Michael he could have drugged Michael, gave himself to make him have a faint pulse or something. Davey is in the fib so he probably has connections or something and got Michael inside.
Its ironic because I've finished gta 5 story mode 3 times and played it for probably over 500+ hours which isnt really much but still. And I've only watched all of GTA 4's missions on RUclips. And I still thought GTA 4 had a superior storyline and some better characters like Nico Bellic.
4:00 trevor says its from a movie in the game, and as for why Michael says it, it is stated clearly he thought trevor was dead, he didnt doubt it once until trevor shows up in his house, lester also says "there are no old guys!" When setting up this heist, meaning no other criminals would be there to find out. As for the feds, i dont think they would have put the peice together much and Michael figured davey would cover it up if any started to question, going based on what is said in the starting cutscene of dead man walking michael made daves career, michael being known as alive would ruin him
1:50 also, there's artwork of Michael in Franklin's mansion so it seems like that was originally his house, but Rockstar change it mid development, but they didn't change anything from the Vangelico heist, this based on one of the first posters leaked from the game which showed Michael in the Vangelico heist.
The crazy thing is that all of the approaches I chose apparently aren't canon. I like Offshore for the Merryweather heist, Obvious for The Big One, and Loud for the jewelry job. Offshore felt more realistic to me, that's the thing. But every time you mentioned scaling issues, that's the answer. I always lament that they should've worked on the game longer so its first release would've been exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One. Now to attempt explanations. 1. Michael is characteristically cocky, so the movie quote during the jewelry heist isn't an afterthought, because he also assumed Trevor was dead. Dave admits that he's been talking to Trevor as Brad for quite some time without telling Michael. This is heard during their drive in By the Book. That's why I drive slowly, because vital details can be missed otherwise. 2. Not just Merryweather should've came after them for stealing what I assume is a new, devastating warhead or sci-fi device such as a rocket to accomplish interstellar travel, or a power source to time-travel. When Trevor guessed it ran off nuclear power, it immediately made me think of how the DeLorean is powered. Anyway, terrifying deep state special ops would be sent after them as well. My guess? Merryweather thought they were badass enough that they could handle the trio on their own, so that's why they didn't call for actual backup. That was the trio's saving grace, was robbing a private firm who thinks they're unstoppable. This heist is also further evidence to us that Trevor is so unhinged that he's willing to cause a possible world war just to make money. I think that was the only reason for the heist, as well as to gloat to Volition that they can do over-the-top better than Saints Row. Because in Saints Row 3, the player steals and kills so cartoonishly without actual consequences just because. But the Merryweather heist is so much work for nothing because whatever that device is, its theft would realistically lead to their deaths if the deal went through. 3. I'm stumped regarding the Paleto job. It's literally just a crossover parody of 44 Minutes and Rambo. 44 Minutes because that shootout was insane, the perps were heavily armed and armored, and the special effects are similar to Michael's special ability. Rambo because it's in a mountain town and has both sheriff's deputies and the military chase the protagonists. A second shootout would've been awesome, but Michael orders Lester to be called, so maybe Lester informed the FIB, and they handled the heat? That's the only thing that makes sense, is for Dave, Steve, and Sanchez to have had something to do with helping them escape. 4. Again, my approach for The Big One apparently isn't canon, but the way it's executed feels more realistic, especially seeing how the Smart way plays out. I've only played the Smart approach once. It just isn't that fun for me, and I didn't make good choices with the crew the first time. And about wiring the money, I think Lester had a plan from the start to make it look legit. For Franklin's assassination missions, he mentions having a stock trading portfolio and covers for taxation, which is how Frank got his new home. As with the others, that's just my best guess. 5. You can actually pretend to be dead, but it requires some ninja-type technique to slow the heart rate so low that machines can't detect it. The problem is that Michael obviously doesn't know martial arts or any of their special techniques, which is ironic considering he can do yoga, so the only explanation is that Dave had to have made it so Michael could be passed off as a corpse easier without all the red tape stuff. In the end, Michael mentions Dave being the one keeping the heat off of them, so it's safe to say Dave is still alive and with the Bureau in 2024. Their connection to the FIB is the only reason they made it so far, in the same way Niko's connection to the IAA was why he stayed free. It all boils down to them being allowed to commit crimes. That's what makes the events more believable.
Him saying the line is supposed to be reckless and ultimately dumb from his part since it feeds his ego. It makes a lot of sense from a character stand point for him to just say a random movie quote as a way to revive his criminal past. It's not so stupid in the sense of Trevor catching onto that (since Michael was sure that he probably died after all this time) but in the sense that he's pretty much announcing that Michael Townley is back and robbing once again, which would be obvious for the ones who recognize his criminal past, like Dave knowing right away it was him who robbed the place
Why was that tennis coach hiding in the house of Matrin Madrazo's girlfriend? The coach actually didn't even hide, he was just chilling on balcony knowing they are after him, instead to move inside. But why he was there? Was he banging that Russian girl as well, and Martin was ok with that? Why Michael (and Franklin) didn't just eliminate Madrazo? He was alone, just one bodyguard armed with a baseball bat (plus his gf). Why Michael was so weak in that scene, plus so many other (like Fabian humiliating him in front of Amanda), yet he is a super-ninja thief in some others? What was Michael doing in the backseat of Jimmy's car when Franklin broke into their house? There are million problems with this story.
1 The coach hided there for micheal 2 micheal only if he need to and how if he did that he would have the whole mexican cartel on his ass 3 micheal was probably trying to catch Amanda and the tennis coach in the act
Micheal saying that quote could be judt an instinct kind of thing. Hes just so used to saying it from previous jobs that he always says it when he gets into a pinch
I think why he quoted his old movie quote was because he claimed he missed the old days where he was a bank robber and he was really getting into it is stated how much he missed these days and why he was angry at his family in the early part of the game Micheal's arc was him realising that the old days weren't so great and it took his family leaving him to realise that
About the big score Gauntlet getaway part, it doesn't make any sense for what the police did once the crew got away because remember what happened during the Paleto score setup. Lester had a police radio to monitor chatter and they said that they're gonna set up checkpoints on the GOH. Even Trevor annoyingly said something about that hence why the route back to the meth lab was the backwoods. Wouldn't you think police would have called to set up checkpoints right then and there?
They could've set Michael to live on the Vinewood Hills instead, one of those houses that are further up on the mountain, maybe near where Franklin would live in the future. It'd then make more sense for him to be robbing Vangelico. Or perhaps switch houses between Franklin and Michael, having Michael live on 3671 and Franklin live on current Michael's house (redesigning the interiors and maybe the buildings so it makes sense for them and their situation)
1: The truck was most likely abandoned or destroyed while being quickly hidden on private property. The police legally cant search the area without a warrant. Also, tons of cops did swarm the area, they were in the river. The dialogue tells you to hurry back because other police would be near by. 2: He was given the choice to either rob a bank in the sticks, or the jewelry store. As we know, one was heavily guarded, the other wasnt. Neither are good choices, but his back was against the wall 3: His entire character revolves around him chasing the glory days. It doesnt make sense logically, but it makes sense from an emotional aspect. He hadnt taken on a score in more than 10 years and he was incredibly excited to relive the old days. Michael also assumed that Trevor was dead and Lester wasnt tracking him. Dave Norton knew it was Michael's job, but not from that line, just by the way it was executed. If Trevor was actually dead, the line would have meant nothing. 4: He didnt go to any regular hospital, he was taken to a building crawling with iaa. Regular civilians are never sent there, so regular ambulances arent going to take him there. 5: The game acknowledges the fact that it's hard to play dead. If you move your mouse or right stick, you will be noticed. 6: If you listen to the game, on of your crew members will stay back to distract the police. Idk how they could possibly escape after, but either way that just leaves you with the enemies in the factory. You kill everyone, no one is left to report you. 7: There is a right turn they could make up the road to get off of the highway. Honestly the most unrealistic part of the mission is that the guy in the helicopter calls for reinforcements so quickly. Cars dont just disappear, so they likely would have had look inside of the tunnel before making any calls for roadblocks. You have to remember that anything could happen when youre driving as fast as they were. Maybe they crashed, maybe the cars gave out because of the weight of the meatal inside of the truck. 8: Yeah this heist sucks in every way. No money for the player and it feels like it was designed by a 12 year old. 9: Lester doesnt wire it directly to us. He launders it through stocks little by little. Lester explains this if you listen to the dialogue. It visually appears that we got it all at once because of the time skip after the final main mission. Michael and Trevor also have multiple bank accounts, so no, 20 million is not suddenly appearing in their accounts.
One thing I wasnt a fan of in the game was that half of the missions were pointless. And I get fun over reason but spending 15 minutes slowly driving a submersible just for the mission to be pointless isnt what I would call fun personally
Lester mentions needing to launder the gold in the helicopters approach. We can assume that Lester deals with this aspect and that the one time transfer they get represents the money laundering scheme being set up and starting to work
4:32 also, dead bodies don't bleed. (there's many things involved - no heartbeat, coagulated blood etc.), so Michaels cover would be blown at the first inscision.
5:39 we see that between them getting on the train and getting out, a lot of time has passed, from almost noon to basically midnight, pursuing the train would be kinda stupid too, what generally happened is a bit funny but we can be lead to believe that the train was also set up by (iaa or fib i dont remember which one was this job with)
With the quote thing: Micheal most probably didnt say that exact quote always, he was an old school movie enthusiast as we know from the story He used this quote in North Yankton because it was fitting the situation He did it again when, again there was a perfect opportunity for it. Even Trevor said that (im paraphrasing) "who is that guy using my old friend name, living in a mansion probably paid for with my dead friends stashed milions and using my dead friends tired old movie quotes" hinting that Micheal was using "quotes" not only one A lot of time has passed and Micheal thought Trevor was dead, he even said that he was sure that if Trevor didn't die right after that he would die from overdosing or just doing some stupud shit, after all Trevor was a top tier psycho, he was the guy that could die at any second because he just chose to randomly start a shootout. The jewel store heist was planned quickly, because micheal needed the money asap, Lester proposed the paleto bay bank too but Micheal said that this would be too much. Their escape plan involved going on cross bikes because of the fact that bikes are more maneuverable and have better acceleration. They originally thought they will lose the cops in the tunnels but when they got out they were surprised that police is there already. They quickly pushed off them racing against the time trying to hide before the helicopter got on the scene The bolo most probably was set out, but Be On The LookOut isn't equal searching the nearby houses, its for every cop in the area to immediately pursue or stip the vehicle matching the description IF it was on the road, they couldnt enter those houses and search them without a warrant or at least reasinable suspicion. Also on the quote, Dave said to Micheal (again paraphrasing) "have you lost your mind? This job, this... Everyone who knows your file!!" This means that he pulled off the heist in his typical style, movie quotes, professionalism, in and out quickly. Thats all when it comes to this part, i will probably write more comments on other things, sorry for probably a lot of mistakes, missclicks in my writing etc. Im on a phone and its weird.
My theory for the peleto heist is that maybe Dave and Steve used their corruption so Michael, Trevor, and Franklin can escape and not be caught. I do not know if this would be possible but it’s a fun little theory
That with cluck n bell makes somehow sense. İf steve did call these guys and send them there he wpuld be very good bcs he knew it all along. Later he could say, i didn't understood what they did i never heard anything. And so they can escağe very easy.
9:36 it appears to be right after, im oretty sure in the lore it was at least few weeks, because the gold itself had to first wait, then be melted, then be sold and only then sent as money
They didn’t put out a description for the getaway vehicle because this GTA is not that far advanced because you can just hide in tunnels to get away from police it’s just the way the game is
1. Why didn't the CIA "disappear" Steve Haines, Michael or Dave Norton after Monkey Business? 2. After Lamar Down, If Steve wanted Trevor dead, then why didn't he send a team to his known locations? 3. I know it was for the story climax, but why did Dave pretend to be Brad for 9 years? Out of pure meanness?
It’s just a game in the end of the day I don’t think it has the worst story mode it’s pretty decent. Definitely could’ve done more with Franklin in the beginning of the game though.
I hate how most of GTA 5 happens because of michael's recklessness, like for instance destroying martin madrazo's house (making michael need to rob stores and banks much sooner than if he just continued living a normal life until the cash for dave norton, shopping and mortgages werent there anymore),and his one liner causing trevor to find michael and franklin getting roped into their operations.
You don’t know that Micheal was someone who doesn’t give a fuck when he wants something he’s going to take it and not care we’re the location is there Answer the question.
“They put a BOLO out on the vehicle which basically means they’ll Be On the Look Out, no idea what it stands for” c’mon man 😂 you literally just said it 🤣
The merryweather heist was the biggest waste of time in this game, which, to be honest, is a big waste of time in itself. I get that in real life. Not everything goes to plan, but to make a player of a video game do all that work and not make any reward at the end of it. Pissed me off.
Minor detail when Trevor has an ability that makes him invincible 😂😂😂 gta is not meant to be a realistic game lmao it’s 10 year old now and it was far ahead of its time considering it’s still booming now so they didn’t do too much wrong did they ?
A lot of these could just be chalked up to them being more convenient for the plot. And also hoping that your level of immersion will also come with a suspension of disbelief.
Damn, now that you mention it, it really doesn't make sense why would Lester transfer huge amounts of cash to the debit cards of all three main characters. I've replayed the story countless times and it never crossed my mind. It's ridiculous. 😂😂😂
another things that don't make sens : 1.Michael giving a gold bar to casey instead of smoking him 2.delivering stolen cars for Weston up to the north 3.some big one heist preps in both approaches
1. Michael has been shown time and time again that he doesn't like unnecessary deaths. He'll kill if people like cops are in the way, but he won't kill people if he can find an alternative way with them. 2. The top of the map was the best option. The cops already had their eyes on the cars, so going where there would not be any police stations would be the most effective way forward.
1. His ego and narcissism made him in a way feel good? Michael doesn't like worthless killing 2. That was made no sense 3. That might just be them looking to see which is better
Heres a question, how the hell would casey SELL the gold bar? Its clearly branded so that would probably pose a lot of questions for the buyer,so casey would be busted if he tried that.
@@sbhatakolom Maybe, that is if he can get the experience and money to do such (and then i assume to reshape it into a regular old untraceable gold bar)
Yep to pronounce death a 12 lead needs to be done with no signs of electrical activity (heart pumping) or the person must have injuries not compatible with life (such as a decapitation) for death to be officially called. I feel like the bigger issue not mentioned is being zipped up in a body bag you'd probably be really dead by the time getting examined due to the lack of oxygen 😂.
Lester was probably tinkering with apb’s so you lose the cops instantly then In the gta world the ambulance goes up and says oop he’s dead, that’s what they do for npcs The cops might’ve not seen them get on it or thought it’s crazy to be able to jump on a moving train Being able to get in the truck the cops were thinking in their feet they probably thought they went through too quick to have cars and the doors on the trucks don’t open like normal doors so they’re modified they wouldn’t think a car could drive in a regular one at least not a gauntlet If Micheal can send Dave 5k or 10k a month without a problem from the irs then they probably don’t have that stuff in this universe
There's a lot of such moments in GTA 5! For example, where did they carry the minigun ammo in the Paleto Bay heist? Or why police wasn't searching for Michael after he raided millitary trucks on a highway to get those miniguns? There were dozens of witnesses!
Ok so... here we go. This video that I'm commenting on may dive into this already, I haven't watched yet, but here are things that I believe take away from the game, rather than add to it. 1: Scripting ally NPCs to either purposefully miss, not be able to kill anyone if shots do hit, or even as far as both. This seems very pointless and like a waste of code. 2: Forced events. Example: Michael requiring to kill all enemies before Trevor pulls him up (During an FIB mission.) Another good example is scripting characters to always run back to a very specific spot during a gunfight. These are only couple of the many examples where strictly scripted stuff takes away from the game. 3: What on earth is up with the Merry Weather battle during The Big One? Specifically, you have to swap characters every few seconds, or else they 100% will die, whether they've actually taken damage or not. Just why?! 4: Redundant scenes. There are multiple scenes where the game forces you to fight the cops, or other enemies, despite the fact that it's not particularly necessary. I get that it's an action game or whatever, but let's face it: Nobody wants a scripted fight, unless that scripted fight makes sense. Trevor's war against the biker gang, that makes sense. Being right next to a get away vehicle, but still needing to fight the cops instead of just... driving away? That does NOT make sense. I could go into further detail, but that would require me to watch the entirety of campaign, pay extremely close attention to everything that doesn't make sense, and then spend multiple hours writing this comment. I will say this though. There's an option to win the race against Lamar in the 2nd mission, despite the fact that Lamar is purposefully programmed to drive 3X faster than Franklin. WHY, ROCKSTAR? Anyways, I don't usually make criticism comments. My comments are usually for humor and I play a sort of character in my comments. This, however, I feel needed to be said.
6:51 no they wouldn't, time, time, and once again time, they were in an active pursuit, they lost them for a moment but set up a lookout for the tunnel exit, full roadblock like that would be too slow to set up, this tunnel is small.
3:51 let me correct you here, at some point in the story dave says he's been sending letters to trevor and he said he didn't want michael to know trevor was in the same state as michael, and michael Thought trevor was Dead pointing to the line (nah trevor dead he's gotta be)
For me GTA V seems like it was made by a kid who comes up with missions and scenarios when playing action figures. Red Dead 2 seems like actual writers who know how to do characters and stories. GTA V maybe the most successful video game to date, but Red Dead 2 is a powerful game I will never forget, it’s Rockstar’s magnum opus.
1 It wasnt the quote that made trevor suspicious it was the way the heist was planned. Dave wasnt worried about the quote he says the whole job everyone who knows your file what is wrong with you. He wasnt referring the quote but how the job was done. Ih and micheal was obsessed with old movies and quote them all the time. Even if micheal didnt said the quote trevor would still found out .2 paleto heist The police lost them out of sight why should the train stop and they getting another fight? That doesnt make sense the police lost their trail. 3 the big score heist did the police knkw after the lost them were they drove? No so how can they set up road blocks if they didn't know where they were driving they cant place road blocks 4 they didnt sold the super weapon at all. If they did they would ended up on a watch list Oh and merryweather is a private army they probably pay off the cops not to disturb them 5 lester is extremely good at hacking he tracked micheal down in seconds so he can easily transfer the money to the characters yes it makes no sense they will get that amount of money on their banks without raising suspicion. Go watch darkviperau vid about micheal and the gta story and you will understand. 😊
People who say “it’s just a game” seem to forget that Rockstar essentially makes movies in a game world

i think michael saying his iconic line was him getting back into his "criminal" character. michael says many times in the story how he ENJOYS the chaos of the life he's living currently and hated the mundane retirement. when michael said the iconic line, he most likely was filled with ego after successful robbing a store just like his old days and either mistakenly said the line or said it due to his chaotic desiring self taking over, returning to his old self. like michael said before the heist, he assumed trevor was dead, he thought trevor was too crazy to live all this time.
check out my theory on this and tell me what u think
Or maybe it became a habit from him every single time he robbed a bank he said that line without even knowing he says that
😅😅😊😊😊
They go all the way there just for a helicopter just to fly it back to los santos, look at some trucks they could easily look at from the street, and then fly all the way back and then they both (Trevor and Lestor) have to go back to Los Santos to plan the heist
Also the Humane Lab raid requires a cargobob yet in a heist before this we just got one from the base.
That’s not THAT long of a drive for Americans, especially full time career criminals with no other obligations or restrictions.
this is why I always just raid the port
its too much of a trip for nothing, besides I dont wanna go to no fucking flying school , gta sa already traumatized me besides WE ALREADY HAVE A PILOT
1. At the time, I'm pretty sure Tanisha still contacted and worried about Lamar's well-being and noticed he hadn't been around recently, or because it was just a video game
2. Might seem like I'm scraping the bottom of the bucket, but Wade probably moves and does basic human functions when off-screen. If you shoot up the strip club, everyone including Wade runs away meaning he isn't stuck or anything, or maybe because it's just a game
3. FIB got their backs, or maybe because it's just a game
Edit, the reply below me serves a valid point, dirty cops would care about the Paleto Bay bank, sending more funding towards keeping it safe, and wouldn't want to reveal too much of it, for the same reason, killing two birds with one stone.

I have about 2,000 hours in Grand Theft Auto (with 1,800 of those mostly in single-player), so I’ll go over a few of your points and share my perspective:
1. Your first point about the BOLO for the car makes sense, I can't really think of an argument against that.
2. Michael was looking for a target that wasn’t too big but would still make millions. It's likely that the jewelry store is the only place around Los Santos that sells high-quality gems. The store being near Michael's house in Rockford Hills might have just been coincidental, as Michael says during the Merryweather Heist, "That store's just down the road from my house."
Plus, Chef was giving them a break, and they probably thought the gang was with Chef, as he says during the mission, "They think there’s more than one of me."
+million more
@@bdleo300 Michael and franklin couldnt eliminate madrazo because he was a kingpin and they would pretty much be exiled from LS permantly along with blaine county too. we saw the result during the paleto score part of the game.
as for why the tennis coach was in one of madrazos freinds house, its likely the tennis coach knew this person and was hiding there, although im uncertain
i believe michael was hiding in jimmys car to catch amanda cheating on the tennis coach as when you go downstairs you can see them... im not going into detail but you can clearly see shes not learning tennis..
the first point for the bolo is so idiotic to me. Michael stole it and stashed it somewhere for Lester, it's not out of the question that Lester simply got rid of it with his skills.
i want to explain a bit why michael felt like it wasnt risky to say his signature line;
it’s because for one, it was a quote from a movie, that he made his own.
for two, he was a notorious bank robber, that had fans, that subsequently knew his lore/ lines or tactics he used, that were signature to him. so realistically, there is a possibility a fan could have said this signature line, during a heist, because they idolized michael.
for three, without speculating, it is certain fact, that michael goes into quite a lot of detail explaining to lester, during the planning of the vangelico heist, that michael believes that trevor is dead. him knowing the type of person trevor is, he felt that if trevor were still alive, he certainly would have been looking for, or found michael already.
but, also doing a bit of speculation, i feel that michael probably thought that a news reporter, interviewing the witness that says michael’s line, to the reporter, wouldn’t give trevor any more incentive than he already had to find/ continue looking for michael, IF he was still alive.
but, what michael didn’t know, is that trevor was still alive. and, trevor truly thought michael was dead. hence, why that news report triggered the beginning of trevor’s true search, for michael.
lmk what y’all think! 👇
It wasn't the quote. It was how the robbery was planned
@@Mrguy145 what do you mean? and what does that have to do with the topic at hand
@@187producedit trevor only found out about michael because of the robbery. Not because of the quote

I always bring it up when people defend Trevor as being intelligent. He's not stupid, but he's certainly no Tesla for wanting to steal something that likely came from Area 69. He's also not insane, just emotionally unhinged. I feel like this heist is just a middle finger to Saints Row's over-the-top nature, with Rockstar basically saying, "We can do insane as well, only far better than you." It's also to show what a lunatic Trevor is.
and then leaves it because lester molester comes in and says they can't take it
the scaling issue for michael's house to the 1st hiest is never mentioned good shit for bringing that up lil bro
10:25 did you mean 25K?
I remember in GTA 4 Tbogt where, in a mission, Luis talked with his friends about how dumb the police in LC were and why crime is insanely high there. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same problem in GTA 5 since what he was saying isn't wrong.
i think BOLO just stands for "Be On (the) Look Out"
Okay I'm about to analyze the hell out of this and explain some things.
So, given that we're scaling 140 miles (give or take by like 20 miles) into an 8.5 mile map from top to bottom, I'd say the distance scaled to
the Jewel Store to Michael's House is accurate and if we're thinking the game characters are thinking that distance, I don't think it'd be too close for Michael.
(also not called the humane labs raid, it's called Monkey Business)
4:35 HUH???
In the mission where davey knocks out Michael he could have drugged Michael, gave himself to make him have a faint pulse or something. Davey is in the fib so he probably has connections or something and got Michael inside.

As for the feds, i dont think they would have put the peice together much and Michael figured davey would cover it up if any started to question, going based on what is said in the starting cutscene of dead man walking michael made daves career, michael being known as alive would ruin him
Thing that didn’t make sense to me was spending time prepping a heist yet the cops always turning up
1:50 also, there's artwork of Michael in Franklin's mansion so it seems like that was originally his house, but Rockstar change it mid development, but they didn't change anything from the Vangelico heist, this based on one of the first posters leaked from the game which showed Michael in the Vangelico heist.
That's what makes the events more believable.
for number 5 there is also certain drugs that can mimic death or put you in a coma that resembles death so dave couldve used that for michael

Literally over thinking it, it’s just a game.
Can’t blame him it’s been 11 years since this game came out
Why was that tennis coach hiding in the house of Matrin Madrazo's girlfriend?
1 The coach hided there for micheal
2 micheal only if he need to and how if he did that he would have the whole mexican cartel on his ass
3 micheal was probably trying to catch Amanda and the tennis coach in the act
Micheal saying that quote could be judt an instinct kind of thing. Hes just so used to saying it from previous jobs that he always says it when he gets into a pinch
“BOLO” means “be on the lookout”
Michael phones in a bomb attack from his living room on his personal cell phone
Fun fact: In the rapid California bank robbery hobbyist of the 90’s,the average bank robber lived within 25 miles of the bank they robbed.
That’s actually wild maybe Michael was onto something 😂
Should've got the classic 6 star wanted level on the merry weather heist

Neither are good choices, but his back was against the wall
3: His entire character revolves around him chasing the glory days.
"I don't know what it stands for" followed by "means something like be on the lookout for such and such vehicle" bro answered his own question 😂
gta v mission with all 3 characters together were superfun
9:04 bro what is lester wearing 😂
Ass cheaks,RAW
Hospital gown
Michael leaving Lester's bag at the LifeInvader office? Haha!
Honestly, if GTA V was only developed for the eighth gen consoles and PC, the map could had been bigger, had more content and more story.
u r criminally underated
Yeah, but he's got us, and he genuinely makes pretty good content
@@averagegamer6912this means a lot bro, more than you know ❤️
@@v_Falls_v Just doing my part to help a man on the way to the top!
the joke about diddy at the after party lmao
5:39 we see that between them getting on the train and getting out, a lot of time has passed, from almost noon to basically midnight, pursuing the train would be kinda stupid too, what generally happened is a bit funny but we can be lead to believe that the train was also set up by (iaa or fib i dont remember which one was this job with)
With the quote thing:
Micheal most probably didnt say that exact quote always, he was an old school movie enthusiast as we know from the story
He used this quote in North Yankton because it was fitting the situation
He did it again when, again there was a perfect opportunity for it.
Even Trevor said that (im paraphrasing) "who is that guy using my old friend name, living in a mansion probably paid for with my dead friends stashed milions and using my dead friends tired old movie quotes" hinting that Micheal was using "quotes" not only one
A lot of time has passed and Micheal thought Trevor was dead, he even said that he was sure that if Trevor didn't die right after that he would die from overdosing or just doing some stupud shit, after all Trevor was a top tier psycho, he was the guy that could die at any second because he just chose to randomly start a shootout.
They quickly pushed off them racing against the time trying to hide before the helicopter got on the scene
The bolo most probably was set out, but Be On The LookOut isn't equal searching the nearby houses, its for every cop in the area to immediately pursue or stip the vehicle matching the description IF it was on the road, they couldnt enter those houses and search them without a warrant or at least reasinable suspicion.
"Diddy at the after-party" is crazy
My theory for the peleto heist is that maybe Dave and Steve used their corruption so Michael, Trevor, and Franklin can escape and not be caught. I do not know if this would be possible but it’s a fun little theory
whys everyone hating on the gta 5 story ever since the gta 6 trailer?
not really hating just mentioning certain flaws
I like the story. They should have made it like GTA IV and split the story up in three different DLCs that tie in, so it could’ve been a bit better
This dude really doesn’t know how the GTA paramedics work
It’s just a game in the end of the day I don’t think it has the worst story mode it’s pretty decent. Definitely could’ve done more with Franklin in the beginning of the game though.
6:18 this heist wasnt done for money for the player but for the next heist, Micheal Trevor and Franklin didnt rly have a choice
“They put a BOLO out on the vehicle which basically means they’ll Be On the Look Out, no idea what it stands for” c’mon man 😂 you literally just said it 🤣
Yeah I kinda turned into a dumbass for a moment
The merryweather heist was the biggest waste of time in this game, which, to be honest, is a big waste of time in itself.
I get that in real life. Not everything goes to plan, but to make a player of a video game do all that work and not make any reward at the end of it. Pissed me off.
we’d get a headache trying to understand gta stories
just can’t look that deep into it same way 3 people could never take down 50 cops by themselves but it somehow happens
Off topic but i really hope luis lopez from gta 4 is in 6 he gives vice city vibes especially since we know miami loves their nightclubs
Hopefully! The actor who played him was awesome and Luis is still alive in the lore as he was seen in a portrait in the nightclub on Tony’s desk.
another things that don't make sens :
1.Michael giving a gold bar to casey instead of smoking him
2.delivering stolen cars for Weston up to the north
3.some big one heist preps in both approaches
Michael doesn't like worthless killing
2. That was made no sense
3. That might just be them looking to see which is better
Heres a question, how the hell would casey SELL the gold bar? Its clearly branded so that would probably pose a lot of questions for the buyer,so casey would be busted if he tried that.
@@southernbrain691 Tell me if I am wrong but he could wait a while and smelt it. Its one gold bar.
Lester was probably tinkering with apb’s so you lose the cops instantly then
In the gta world the ambulance goes up and says oop he’s dead, that’s what they do for npcs
The cops might’ve not seen them get on it or thought it’s crazy to be able to jump on a moving train
Being able to get in the truck the cops were thinking in their feet they probably thought they went through too quick to have cars and the doors on the trucks don’t open like normal doors so they’re modified they wouldn’t think a car could drive in a regular one at least not a gauntlet
If Micheal can send Dave 5k or 10k a month without a problem from the irs then they probably don’t have that stuff in this universe
It's the only high end jewelry store wtf
There's a lot of such moments in GTA 5! For example, where did they carry the minigun ammo in the Paleto Bay heist? Or why police wasn't searching for Michael after he raided millitary trucks on a highway to get those miniguns? There were dozens of witnesses!
ned luke michaels VA hates that line
Ok so...
This, however, I feel needed to be said.
hey what is the background music called that you use in the vid?
Well Michael thought that Trevor was dead already for a long time so that’s why he said that
6:51 no they wouldn't, time, time, and once again time, they were in an active pursuit, they lost them for a moment but set up a lookout for the tunnel exit, full roadblock like that would be too slow to set up, this tunnel is small.
It doesn't make sense for theives to end up with stolen money after a heist? What? You're reaching so hard your arm's going to fall off.
Ah yes 3 idiots take down a private army
3:51 let me correct you here, at some point in the story dave says he's been sending letters to trevor and he said he didn't want michael to know trevor was in the same state as michael, and michael Thought trevor was Dead pointing to the line (nah trevor dead he's gotta be)
He thought Trevor was probably dead is why he said it. And why would you think he'd think not to say it if it's habit
ngl Falls you reachin with this one, but I do agree with yo opinion about the distance from Michael’s house to Vangelico
He robbed the jewelry store kinda smart bro in plain sight they wouldn’t expect him to be a thief
I also played GTA as a kid hahah my parents thought I was mature enough
I'm here for the incidental music
For me GTA V seems like it was made by a kid who comes up with missions and scenarios when playing action figures.
Red Dead 2 seems like actual writers who know how to do characters and stories.
GTA V maybe the most successful video game to date, but Red Dead 2 is a powerful game I will never forget, it’s Rockstar’s magnum opus.
Nah in the game Michael says that the store is literally block away from his house
Do whatever u want but dont hate best quote 😏
1 It wasnt the quote that made trevor suspicious it was the way the heist was planned. Dave wasnt worried about the quote he says the whole job everyone who knows your file what is wrong with you. He wasnt referring the quote but how the job was done. Ih and micheal was obsessed with old movies and quote them all the time. Even if micheal didnt said the quote trevor would still found out .2 paleto heist The police lost them out of sight why should the train stop and they getting another fight? That doesnt make sense the police lost their trail. 3 the big score heist did the police knkw after the lost them were they drove? No so how can they set up road blocks if they didn't know where they were driving they cant place road blocks
4 they didnt sold the super weapon at all. If they did they would ended up on a watch list
Oh and merryweather is a private army they probably pay off the cops not to disturb them
5 lester is extremely good at hacking he tracked micheal down in seconds so he can easily transfer the money to the characters yes it makes no sense they will get that amount of money on their banks without raising suspicion. Go watch darkviperau vid about micheal and the gta story and you will understand. 😊
4:32 he was sent directly there because he was meant to look for toe tags he literally said im working for the feds.
