Thanks Cristian. Although my parents didn't play music very often, there were still some albums that remind me of them.

Hi Randy. Enjoyed your theme for this video. Very nice idea to link music to personal family memories. I am not into music in the same way as I am for films so a bit lost at times, however, I do know about Doris Day lol. 😂 Have a great evening.

Thanks for watching. I'm not sure if I am more of a film person or music person. I am heading for a film convention in Ohio this weekend and I am thinking about starting a series that combines both when I get back.

Nice entry Randy. I like these personal videos where vc folks give some insight into their formative years with interesting tidbits about their family. Great job. Best of luck in the contest.

I didn't mention it, but a lot of my first music listening was on my transistor radio at night with an earpiece in. They would play the top pop songs of the day every night. I hope that things are going better for you.

Hey Randy! Great entry and thanks so much for jumping on this. Man, I'm so glad you're such a Zevon fan like me.. love Sentimental Hygiene and those songs you mentioned. Appreciate you sharing more about your friends/family and learning more. Thanks so much!

Warren Zevon is one of my favorites and Sentimental Hygiene is such a great album. My parents didn't play a lot of music around the house but I did manage to find some records that reminded me of them. Congrats on over 500 subs.

Doris Day reminds me of my mom too. Que Sera Sera in particular. Those Christmas comps would definitely bring nostalgia to me too.

I do like that Doris Day song as well. It was great in the Hitchcock movie The Man Who Knew Too Much. I figure some good Christmas music would be right up your alley.

I have that Bouquet of Roses album! And I think every family in the world had some of those tire-dealer Christmas records. lol Good luck in the contest Randy!

I do enjoy Les Paul and Mary Ford and Les Paul played on a couple of my favorite Bing Crosby tunes. You see those Christmas records everywhere, but I have always enjoyed them and they usually had a nice array of stars represented.

I think I have Happy Families around, have not seen that one of yours though. Cool you did some music reviews back then. The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Mamas & Papas and Judy Collins all remind me of my mom, Duane Eddy and George Harrison's My Sweet Lord my dad - those were the few rock records he owned, oh and he had a Burl Ives one I used to play, of him singing sea shanties or something. Cheers and have a nice week!

There are several records that remind me of my mom but I don't remember her ever playing a record. I did find out some of my dad's songs that he remembered when I made a DVD for their 50th wedding anniversary. I did know that he used to like to watch the Tennessee Ernie Ford TV show. I always like to hear Burl Ives around Christmas. I do have a record of him doing old folk songs. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    God ain't in my kitchen
And God ain't in my room
    God ain't anywhere I've been
    I think we're doomed
I love that Zevon record. Burl Ives brings back memories! Very good video, Randy.

I'm supposed to visit my friend who moved to Colorado in July. I'll have to see if he still remembers the song. I actually had to return the record after reviewing it but I did record it onto a cassette. Now where my old recorded cassettes are is probably a research project. I used to make a Christmas mix CD every year and there was generally a Burl Ives song on there.

Hi Randy! I had a copy of Sentimental Hygiene at one point, but don't have it anymore. Never hear Blancmange in the vinyl community. I have my original copy of Happy Families and some 12" singles. Merry Christmas Randy! 🎅🎅🎅

Warren Zevon is one of my favorites and I have picked up some of his albums that I only have on CD even though I keep saying that I don't need to have both. I have that a cassette that I recorded of than Blancmange album Happy Families somewhere but it will take some searching at this point. I do have a lot of Christmas records.

Warren Zevon has a song about Boom Boom Mancini? You’re kind of like me, my parents didn’t play a whole lot of music either but I have albums that remind me of them. Nice entry Randy!

Warren has written some great sports songs including one on the Red Sox pitcher Bill Lee and the ice hockey song "Hit Somebody." I certainly didn't get my love of music from my parents but do have several that remind me of them as well.

Hi Randall. I just looked you up as I wasn’t sure if you had a channel and the first thing I see is a thumbnail for this video with you showing Doris Day. Movie wise, I’ve become a big Doris Day fan over the last 10 years and I do love her singing voice (she’s great especially in movies such as Love Me or Leave Me and The Pajama Game)….And wow, I used to have the 7” of Warren Zevon’s Sentimental Hygiene, I loved that. Probably like many I started listening to him after Werewolves of London was used in The Color Of Money…And Blancmange, haven’t heard them in ages. Living on the Ceiling is the one that springs to mind. Sadly I got rid of all my vinyl and record player when I moved to Canada. This was a fun topic though, a good idea to think about

Thanks Neil. I have a big vinyl collection as well as a lot of DVDs. I have been showing albums on my channel for a while and there is a big community of vinyl collectors. I’m just starting to learn about the channels that specialize in film media. I need to find a way to incorporate that or maybe one day start another channel. I have two Doris Day collections, another one with Rock Hudson and quite a few separate ones. I’ve become quite a fan as well. Warren Zevon is one of my favorites with his self titled album being my favorite. Thanks for checking my channel out.
