This is the detailed review I’ve been looking for. So many other reviews just had the typical “sounds great” review, but didn’t really go into detail. I’m thinking of buying one and I need to see some reviews to make a decision.
We have the soundbar 900 and bass module 700 in our living room and love it. We wanted something for our bedroom and picked up a 600 on sale for $450 this week. You’re right about sounding clear at low volume. That’s what we wanted in the bedroom. Clarity , good bass and immersive sound without cranking the volume.
Hey 👋 I want to get this for my bedroom over the Beam 2 because of the upward firing speakers. Is this something that’s noticeable when you watch in your room?
@@haj619 Yeah, it’s definitely noticeable. The ceiling height and room size will make a big impact on how it sounds overhead. Our bedroom isn’t too big and the ceiling is 9ft. I wouldn’t say it sounds like speakers overhead, but the soundstage is high and wide so it fills the space.
This speaker sounds incredible. Nothing in this price range offers this level of quality. (sonos is the closest, but the sound is digital, not actual. i.e this has actual up speakers). Plus this is much more powerful than the sonos. The sound is so full and clean. With Dolby Atmos it replicates sound you would normally find at twice the price.
I just bought this yesterday…getting it tomorrow. Looking forward to testing it out with my favorite movies and shows! One of the biggest issues I currently have with the cheap soundbar I bought a few years ago is that the dialog is not very clear, so I’m hoping this fixes that issue. Also, looking forward to experiencing the Dolby ATMOS surround sound.
i got this bose 600 today. i am happy with the clear crisp sound but the bass thump is not there. i am not a bass crazy fanatic but a little thump will be nice so the bose module 500 is a must to improve the sound experience. overall i will still keep this and just save for the bose module. my living room is around 350 sq ft.
Thanks for the review man. I have recently bought the bose tv speaker and than my Vizio soundbar I have now. The Vizio has virtual surround and mostly sound clearer when watching movies or shows, when playing music through Bluetooth the sound is mostly the same. What would you say about the bass when a bass moment come up it’s dims the dialogue down noticeably where I can hear it and it almost muffles it in a way, does this speaker do that? Also I am using an optical cable but I do have the option to use hdmi arc.
This is a 3.0.2 system, so no. But it will use all 5 of its speakers if you have the most premium netflix subscription. This is because it will play in atmos (if supported by the show/film you are watching). But this is supposed to be as immersive as 5.1 Also this has no bass (the 1 in 5.1) so the lower frequencies will be handled in its other speakers
There is one of these for Australia for $1060 and comes with the sub, however no surround speakers unfortunately. The salesperson told me you can buy them as add ons or separate but I really like the rear speaker feel. Is it good enough to just have the bar and sub ? I have a smallish to medium size room. Is this a good match for a 75" TV? Or would a bigger one be more worth it ?
How do you think the bose 600 immersiveness compares to the klipsch cinema 800 3.1? It is missing the upward firing height speakers but comes with a sub...specifically talking to movies, not music.
I use my D9 speaker as TV speaker but now planning to buy this sound bar. Can you please tell me as a reference if it produces less or more bass than D9 ?
Wow, this the first I hear that uou can adjust dialogue from the app. I have calld Bose twice about this and both reps told me that there were no TV controls on the app and was just for music. Are there sn other TV control on this app?
I’ve just bought one of these. I had an old Yamaha YST-SW205 sub left over from a previous set up. I connected it to the Bose via its base output using a 3.5mm Jack to RCA cable. The sound output is astounding. What I don’t like is both the HDMI and power inputs are angled towards each other on the rear of the unit with the base output in between. Which means the cables cross each other when connected. It’s the most needless and stupid design I’ve ever seen.
I did the same thing and it worked fine for over a month until I unplugged the sub to move the tv. Reconnected it and sub output GONE! Can't get the sub tab to show on the Bose app. And absolutely no way to speak to a Bose rep. Bose customer service SUCKS!
I check this speaker out in the store and it sounds like I will not need a bass or subroofer. I looking for great movie theater sound for movies plus being. Able to listen to music. It cost $500 can you advise other speakers at lower price?
Thought I'd take a dive into dolby atmos and got this and was very disappointed(in the dolby atmos part) So i went back to my hifi stereo speakers, which are a lot better 😂
I’m way late, but no you don’t. The sound will bounce off nearby walls and feel quite full regardless. However, if you do get the Bose Base Module, it’s a huge improvement in bass performance. And the surround speakers make it more significant.
I brought one just other day and just installed it, I got to say.. It's quite boring and nothing exciting about it after it's installed. Not a fan of the fact you need a app to set it up. I hate this planned obsolescence BS, just wait til Bose decides to stop support and disables the sound bar unlike products without all this stupid smart app features.

Just to add here. This is an eArc connect. Still connect to Arc, but to get full Atmos, your TV will need eArc compatibility. Great review though.

Wired sub worked for a month then quit. Can't get the subwoofer tab back on Bose app. And no customer service rep to speak to.
Would have bought instantly if they include DTS support.
DTS support is getting tougher and tougher to find in all hardware. It's a shame.

Any old sired sub will work. For a while anyway. But if it quits like mine did you can't speak to anybody from Bose. Terrible customer service.
