    • @KrugerParkGameDrives
      @KrugerParkGameDrives  9 месяцев назад +9

      It is a known fact that Lionesses abandon their cubs - most times not by choice(for example, when they get killed on a hunt), but the cubs will never run away from their mom as can be seen in this video - they patiently sat and waited for her return, which she luckily did. Thanks for watching until the end.

    The second lioness is probably an aunt, I would assume. But the cubs didn't go and greet her. Lionesses usually all share in feeding the cubs within the pride, so if she's their aunt then they should be very familiar with her. Eitherways I'm glad the cubs were safe and reunited with mom. She was probably hunting. The cubs are lucky that only their mom and an aunt found them out in the open like that.

      Adult lions are between 3 and 8 years old. They are fully grown and are of breeding age - females will often have cubs. Hope this helps?

    • @worldfilmclips1
      @worldfilmclips1 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@DW-op7ly From Lion Documentaries I've watched, it's the Female' temperament/what she perseves as the risk that determines when the Cubs are introduced to the others. There are many other factors of course.

    • @KrugerParkGameDrives
      @KrugerParkGameDrives  11 месяцев назад +4

      @DW-op7ly - Yes. It was. That is what made it even more tense. The cubs were clearly nervous and the Lioness "cautious" not to get closer. And just as I was about to leave, she(the 2nd Lioness) stood up and left - out of sight,(maybe she moved into some shade) but it was impossible to know for sure as I could not see her at all anymore which obviously made it even more tense! :) Thanks for watching until the end.

    what made you think the cubs were abandoned? They weren't skinny, not stressed. they look curious. It's very common for lion mamas to leave cubs to go hunt.

    • @KrugerParkGameDrives
      @KrugerParkGameDrives  10 месяцев назад +1

      @LisaMRoberti - Hi Lisa. Yes, I know. Lionesses leave their cubs to go hunt, but we don't know how long they were alone before she came back and left them again - almost immediately.(abandoned - having been deserted or left.). So it seems to be a good word which fit the situation. Thanks for watching until the end. :)

    Younger cubs always seem so confident, playful and brave, like what they are, Lions. But when they are sightly older, but not juvenile yet, they seem so fragile, cautious and afraid.

    Abit of dangerous spot as it was very open for any predators to come to.
    Luckily she came back after 6 hrs prob with food.
    Other lions wd hv killed them but female walked away prop thinking they r just cubs waiting for their mother etc!!!!
    Camera man wd hv intervened if it was needed.
