7pm, winter, dark as fuck. Had a headache from the night before, and I was being driven home. This came on shuffle on my ipod, and I just watched the road in front of me being lit by the car lights for the whole song.
I can tell this is nineties. It's got that mix of electronic and other genres from last century, like cowboy bebop. This, along with Ventian Snares and Aphex Twin are what I will try my best to model my own music after.
wish he'd go back to this style, and go music is rotted 2.0 with newer elements of madness that only he can do. shit would be a level of ridiculousness in the vein of 'Bitches Brew' Mr. Jenkinson, you're not a robot.. come back and let the jazz form free once again, it's high time. cheers.
+futurespells I was thinking the exact same thing, songs like this and tundra, beep street, the swifty will always be my favorite also his acid stuff like theme for ernest borgnine and wooshkie were also pretty good, but in his recent stuff I have only found few songs i truly enjoy.
+mpfmax0 I saw him live a few months back, having not heard any of his latest album(s?) but being a big fan of this era. I was really dissapointed, his new stuff seemed to lack the imagination and excitement of this, and came across as very generic, middle of the road 'edm'. He seems to be appealing to a different audience these days, how the mighty have fallen....
+futurespells yeah but he's an artist...if he followed anyone's agenda he would not be Jenkinson. I'd say to just wait and he will rotate back to his original mood
+futurespells I mean, I get where you're coming from and I'm right there with you, but every true artist transitions and changes as they age, those that don't get stuck in a rut. I'm not sure Tom could do works like this again if he really wanted to, he's not the same person any more.
I chose this for early (read: 90s) Squarepusher songs among them all... Then I noticed I'd forgotten "Port Rhombus", and man that one does not make it easy! I feel ashamed, but I'll have to stand by what I went with.
@@hitkid2456 at least compared to other tracks, im not a fan of the first part. not bad but kinda not for me that second half though, with all the pauses and everything? straight heat.

If you asked him I imagine itd be like "I have no idea, I mess around and find stuff that sounds interesting and I throw it together with other stuff that sounds interesting." specifically you can say oh he takes samples and chops them up and sequences them then layers them with synths and recorded tracks of him playing bass or guitar or piano or w/e but the creative process is messy and explorative I'd imagine
@@user-og6hl6lv7p what's important is that you take it to heart. its only truth if you're listening to the right shit tho. I think the problem is that people don't have 'time' to listen to stuff properly nowadays. They want a quick fix. This side of Squarepusher completely relies upon the listening side and he's decided to veer away from that way of making music.....however, you have to keep up with the times. I love how everyone in the comments is posting a timestamp saying that's the best part of the song and they are all different
The beauty of music.
that's how you know a track is great
AmenS
LOL.
The bass clarinet is without a doubt my favourite instrument. So much complexity and range to its sound
5:51から大好き
その前の盛り上がっていく部分も大好き
This track blows my mind. I don't think I've ever heard *sampled drums* sound so real... Except for the parts that don't sound real lol
Yea he’s fucking incredible
one of the best on album
Grettings from Méjico 🇲🇽❤ to all 90's people!
That bass at 4:24, I have been so blessed with ears too hear melodies of such a refined taste and distinguished caliber . #Jenkinson #legend
I swear Ive heard it in other song. the exact base line, cant recall where tho.
This whole album is good for cold rainy foggy days & nights & fish&chips & soup & stew & bread&butter...
Bubble and squeak too, lel

After this it's hard to find anything else that is even mildy in the same realm of groove and stimulation. Squarepusher is the shit.

OMG The drum programming...
6:36 - this is the time where it shines :)
yep
5:55 reminds me so much of Jaco Pastorius' 16th note runs, it's nice.

So Strange this song has been on my mind all week and now Warp uploads it. Global conscience. eerily strange.
This is the perfect song for my short attention span

I'd love to see the looks on Buddy Rich's face or what he would say if he heard this album or Feed Me Weird Things...
I know right? u can totally listen Buddy, Jo jo and the strong jazz influence in both FMWT and HND.
