Bill, I have been watching Nerd Nest for about a year now. I have gotten back into video games because of your coverage on the Steam Deck. I started a channel about a year ago on my favorite football team, the Carolina Panthers. It is called Panther Pedigree. I started it with my son. He lost love for it and it left the show. Now I am looking to get back into it. I love video games, I love content creation, I love football. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
I can't do anything but agree about the payoff being better early in the video. One could argue having it in the middle is good; if there is a very organic segue to and from it, I can very much so excuse a bit of a wait, but that comes with the expectation that the topic of said video is interesting beyond the title and thumbnail. Cause nothing turns me off more from a video that I wanted a single thing from and it only shows up at the end, if even. Otherwise it's just garbage clickbait. Clickbait is a bit of a thin line and I generally think a lot of people judge youtubers too harshly and accuse too many things of being clickbait. To the point that the moved goalpost allows the really bad clickbait to ironically get away with more. If I may be so bold to mention two youtubers that I think do an excellent job at making engaging yet simple titles and thumbnails. I would have to say Scruffy and Pikasprey Yellow for similar reasons do a great job of making the "payoff" the entire video. They take a simple premise like music theory games or how to soflock a game and runs with the idea without much deviation. And I think shows that you can get away with a kind of beautiful simplicity provided you find your own niche. Sorry I keep making long comments, I just find this channels topics very engaging and thought provoking as a long term watcher of RUclips but rarely get the chance the talk about the creators perspective :) Keep up the great work Bill as always, I'll calm down my long comments going forward!
I've got a channel already Bill with over 6000 subs but I want to start a fresh podcast. Do you think I should start a fresh channel or add the podcasts to this channel? I haven't posted anything on there for about 6 months...

Pick one of those and build on it. If you try to combine too many things your audience won't know what to expect.
super well made video!
Thank you!
