I think it's because (although EarBiscuits is an OG podcast) the podcast space is completely overflooded right now. Pretty much every big RUclipsr wants to have a podcast now, and we regular working folk only have so much time in one week to dedicate to each and every creator we like. I think most people feel content just watching GMM, and they just can't find the time to consume even more R&L content when they already have so much to keep up on in their lives.
i listen to every one on Monday. Sunday's are a really busy family day for me so i don't often get a chance to watch the video version of the podcast. but i do listen to everyone.
I understand why Link is so sensitive about showing off y'all's wealth, but I think it's okay to let himself relax a bit on the subject. We all know you guys are rich, and anyone who's not an idiot knows y'all are still the same humble, dorky southern boys you always have been. I get it, because I grew up in Kentucky, and it's almost like cool to hate on rich people, right? You guys probably have some complex feelings on the issue, but my take is not to worry so much about how you come off. You guys aren't making videos smashing iPhones for fun or something, you know? You guys worked hard to earn what you have, you know to stay humble and keep your kids humble, and that's what really matters. It's cool with me if you wanna show off your cool Dyson hair dryer or whatever as long as you don't lose what makes you, you. :)
Going to be honest, I think the lighting should go back to being lower. It seems like it may be during the day and I always imagine it being literally done at like 3 AM (I know that's not how they do it; it's just what I imagine). Also, you obviously don't have to listen to me, and I know that. Thanks for listening.
You only feel that way because the dimmer lighting is what you were familiar with, as we all know, familiarity breeds content. If they had started out with brighter lighting and then dimmed it later on, you would have felt the same way, most likely. I feel like the change is pretty minuscule and unimpactful. They're the ones that have to sit there talking for all of us for an hour plus every week, and if it makes them more comfortable then they should keep the lights a bit brighter.
I actually don't mind that it's a little brighter. It's more so that it's a lot more white light now. Would like to see more warm light. But could definitely just be me.
MrSkippypie Oh yes, for sure. That’s how it is for pretty much everyone. That’s also why I tried to make it clear that I didn’t think it was a big deal. It’s not going to affect much, in all reality. Thanks for your thoughts. : )
Personally, I liked the dimmer lighting better. It made it feel more... intimate? Now, it's even more apparent that they're in a studio. It isn't a deal breaker for me; just giving my unsolicited opinion on it.
I think they're self conscious about getting terrible ratings on the podcast. At first they could write it off because their core demo is children and kids don't like podcasts but after seeing Logan Paul blow up with his podcast I think that theory kind of lost its legs. So now they're trying to change up the lighting and find a way to attract viewers. Personally I think their podcast is just a little too mundane to attract the children. Logans podcast is bright and colorful and high energy and seems to be specifically geared towards children while these two with ear biscuits seem to be just two old friends having a nice chat. Which I personally enjoy a lot. I'm just trying to explain the possible rationale for them making changes.
@@andremaines I really like this podcast but I'm an old fart too. (Much older than R&L) (ok they are the age of my son but I still love them) I would never watch the Paul brothers!
@@Kylink I think they should start having guests again. The chats are cool but they're both super insightful and I love hearing them pick the minds of fellow creators. Plus guests bring energy and that variety helps keep things from getting stale.
This is now my favorite Rhett and Link medium. I still watch their other content but there is something special about letting them be themselves for more than an hour. Its the same reason i enjoy Conan's podcast more than his show. It feels more intimate and engaging.
its fun to hear Rhett talk about the weather in the ski tip bc its like me going to work in Finland in winter. It feels like it doesnt matter how many gloves you have, you are going to freeze :D
i really really love these conversations, they're prob my fav form of content you guys make! but the new tomato hypnosis gmm is a strong contender lolol. also, i like the less dim lighting, it's easier to see link's eyes this way! (but obvsly, up to you to decide!)
I certainly didn't think it was too dim, but this is fine too. I kinda liked how dim it was though, but I'm not gonna complain. If you guys like the slightly less dim look, then go for it.
I love hearing your stories. Reminds me of when you guys first started! I think if the videos were shorter in length, like 20-30 minutes, more people would watch it.
Being from Canada its so cute hearing southerners in California talk about snow removal. Every town in Canada hires dozens and maybe hundreds of employees, depending on the size of the town, to drive plows graters salters and blowers to maintain roads and parking lots.
Oh for real though, Rhett's shirt is fire. I've always identified a lot with Rhett, but that shirt is probably the first piece of clothing I've ever seen someone wearing that I wanted to get them to sell it to me.
On the subject of tire bondage, I believe it provides a better link to the traction needed in wintery conditions. I'm not chained to the idea if the roads are clear, but I get tired of worrying about crappy road conditions and therefore recommend all precautions.
With the brighter lights come a lot more energy, which i think goes against the ear biscuits grain. Maybe Link could take a sedative or two before the show and the lights would be okay.
Just finished WACO... Thanks for the recommendation Rhett, I doubt I would have watched it otherwise. I was 14 when it happened, and have very little memory of any of the details... Taylor Kitsch did an incredible job, so did Rory Culkin. Such a tragic ending. But I'm glad that the other side got to be told.
Personally I think its a lot of people who were used to watching these on one of their other channels who don't listen to the audio who don't understand that there is a dedicated channel to it now.
I love ear biscuits in any form!! For those of you out there who are commenting about the lighting keep in mind that in the past we couldn't see the guys at all! If they ever decide to change it to even dimmer lighting than the original dim lighting there would be outcry about that. Let's all just enjoy their stories and be happy, hold hands and be friends!
Rhett I'n sososos happy you recommended the Waco miniseries! Tbh I've watched it a few times and tried to get other into it but there's really no easily accesable way to watch it
Just an idea: What if for the podcasts you bring a guest and maybe Josh can make different versions of the guest's favorite dish (nice tasty versions) and you guys talk and bond over that with the guest. Win win for everybody. I'd watch the heck out of that. Also, we can add another win by letting me be a mythical crew member. I can totally hold an umbrella XD Have a mythical week everybody~
@@unicyclingtothemoon5606 yeah, I'm not saying I dislike ear biscuits, it just seems like they're frustrated it's not getting traction as much as they would like and I think it's because it's just the two of them most of the time, so every episode feels the same to me. Ahhh the good ol' days

I agree! I think their ability to stay humble despite the success is one of the things that keeps me watching the show and listening to this!
MrSkippypie Well said
Stay humble, promote Wish, get rich. That's the way a-ha, a-ha, we like it.
If he was genuinely sensitive about showing off, he wouldn't do it at all.
Facts on facts on facts.😂
I’ve started a new “habit” of listening to these podcasts as I drift off to sleep at night. Thanks so much for the entertainment and relaxation!
Bronson’s Mommy I do this too when my husband is away! Sometimes if I forget to turn my timer to “Stop playing” I wake up listening to them too!
Me too!
I do this as well
same! it's very relaxing back and forth
I watch earlier gmm episodes to go to sleep... it’s nice until you wake up to Rhett yelling cause Link said Tokyo!

Never would've thought a man could be so passionate about blowing himself with a hairdryer..😂😂
The contrast between Link's leisure and massage stories and Rhett's crazy snow-storm story is hilarious
It can never be too dim
I agree
Reminds me of the EB they did in the dark
24:27 “Sticks his head out the window of his...Harley???” Wtf 😂
Link's dramatic retelling of the pool bar made me smile when I'm feeling really crappy and having a bad few days. Thanks.
This is one of my favorite episodes

CurlyFro honestly, I didn’t even notice the lighting change until they mentioned it? Lol idk

Ear Biscuits is my favorite Rhett and Link platform.
I hope they never stop doing ear biscuits I love it so much ❣️ GOOD CONTENT
I'm literally so excited every week for a new ear biscuits :)
I honestly love Link's toilet and hairdryer/ shower updates. And I love Rhett's massage stories. Never change, guys : )
Link is definitely fire & Rhett is definitely ice.
I recommmend watching these when you are calming down for the day!😁 they are relaxing and funny to watch or listen to

I prefered the lighting like before, it was perfect to feel nice before going to sleep.
Anyway I love Ear Biscuits :)
Link's adventure in that pool with the bar... that shit's terrifying
People who doesn’t listen/watch are really missing out! Ear Biscuits is my Monday highlight!
I love all Ear Biscuits, regardless of degree of dimness..
Ear Biscuits is my favorite podcast. How come there aren't more subscribers? It is a mystery!
I think the new lighting is perfect guys. And Rhett's skiing adventure sounded terrifying 😨
Link never ceases to be weird.

i just brushed my hairdryer, thanks Link!
Rhett talking about snow plow trucks is adorable lol

Go to Goodwill, you'll find lots of flannels.
I always look forward to Ear Biscuits because your stories are the best 😬
Rhett's deliver of that joke @ 18:46 was flawless accompanied by Link's delayed reaction to it had me laughing so much😂😂

Just cleaned out my hairdryer. The blowing power has tripled!! Thanks Link
The Waco was very good! Totally agree with Rhett.
Also I think link is saying bushy beaver.
I love the dad stories. Like Rhett's story about nudity in movies, etc. Love those stories.
Link, your harrowing survival tails was great. Glad you made it out alive. 😂

The Dyson hairdryer is $400. It's amazing! There is a filter on the handle that you need to clean.
I was cleaning my bathroom while I started listening - got the lint out of my blow dryer. I never really thought about cleaning it 😳🙃
Haha, I loved this episode.
Watching this at 1.25X speed is like they poured themselves too much coffee into those mugs.
I've been wakiting for this! Thanks for the video, guys! 🙂👍
wow! I no longer feel like such a weirdo. I've blow dried after towling off for years now! I seriously thought I was the only one. haha!
Kenneth Videos haha, I know
Looking forward to them talking about the wish situation on next episode. Genuinely curious about why they decided to do it
I like that you like the new lighting, I will leave it at that.
When you're listening to it on a Podcast app and then rush to RUclips to see the lighting difference.
I love ear biscuits . I think I watch it *TOO* much

Gooo pack!! And yes its like a new hair dryer thank you sir!!!
I listen to your podcast every night
Bushy what?! I don't have any clue what he's saying and it's driving me crazy. Ha-ha!
Probably beaver
That awkward moment when you've gone skiing so many times that all the things that are new to Rhett, are SOP for you.
