  • Maldives Seaplane Transfer
Seaplane Aircraft is the Maldives fast mode of transfer which is 3 times faster than Boats. E.g: 1 hours ride of Speed boat can be compared to 10 minutes flights by sea plane to resorts in Maldives. Seaplane is scheduled to the long distance from Male Airport to the destination resorts area mostly South and North Atoll of Maldives. If you wanna see the true beauty of Maldives seaplane transfer is the best option.
Seaplane Transfer which is scheduled to resort it is charter by resorts so on arrival the resort will book the seats for guests and it will be charged at the resort. Private seaplanes will be on request. All seaplane transfers are made during daylight hours, and offer an amazing perspective of view on the atolls, islands, reefs and lagoons.

Most travellers in the Maldives are far more likely to use the services of the three charter seaplane companies, Trans Maldivian (www.tma.com.mv) Maldivian and Manta Air which fly tourists from the seaplane port next to Male’ International Airport to resorts throughout the country. Fly 15-seater DeHavilland Twin Otter seaplanes under contract to resorts throughout the Maldives.

  • @snifflytooth

About 20 years ago I used the seaplanes for a transfer to a resort way up north. On the way home, the pilot circled ‘our’ island first clockwise then anti-clockwise so both sides of the plane could get their pics of the beautiful island. He did the same when he spotted some dolphins on the approach into Mahle (sp?)

Its a common procedure for these type of aircraft....these throttle lever are not controlled by hydraulics, they're cabled, there can be a number of reasons for this throttle to push back while the plane is trying to take off, especially on water which is very bumpy....so having two hands on the throttle will prevent it from pushing back and cause a reduction in speed while taking off...
