These cooler days will go great with that Potatoes Soup. It's always a good thing when you can thicken your soup with things that are already cooked and in the soup ingredients. Butter and Bacon are almost always a go to for a delicious ingredient for comfort food. Great Video Bob.
I can count on 3 ingredients in almost every dish Rice or potatoes ham or bacon and milk or condensed soup. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Did you see the sneak peek at the end?
Good morning Bob- Its Monday and I'm sure by Tuesday morning I 'll be lighting our kitchen wood stove. Sounds like freezing rain may be entering New Hampshire. I bow to your upside down fire, but still put the crumpled paper on the bottom with a few pine cones and yes a wooden match or two '-). Followed by some gorgeous kindling my librarian gave me. Her boyfriend makes furniture and saves me the ends. "Malilda's" chimney goes straight up through a cathedral ceiling, so there is around 7 feet of warm stove pipe in the kitchen. Love that you cook directing on the stove. You reminded me to buff down the cold surface of mine today with a ball of Cut-Rite wax paper. Looks like winter is arriving this week, so please keep these recipes coming Bob. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Good morning New Hampshire It is a cold and rainy 35deg. in Washington state. Wood from a furniture shop is great fire starter. Small bits dried threw and threw. My mom could light a wood stove with just one match using a bit of fat wood the neighbor who was a logger would find. The upside down fire I learned when I was with the Boy Scouts. In a wood stove with a narrow fire box, It was hard to turn stick to hold up split rounds as it was being lit. So it dawned on me, Do it from above like I had seen the Scout master do. Well it works every time. Good luck with your weather this winter. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
