ABOUT IRON MAIDEN:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of six decades they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’ which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

I am native American(Navajo) my uncle introduced me to this when I was a kid changed my life and music taste
Don't apologize. For what I am today, is the product of perception. Via ...Cherokee insemination & 10 other nations I was not privy too. Question?: Did you kill the Clovis & the other tribes around you for fun or folly?. What is "Indigenous?" Only fools & Badgers fall for this. Good for you, and please....unfuck your children. Say thank-you,my best uncle..
I am English and I love this song because I never knew what it was about!
@@itachisaskue963 very nice to hear something GD happening to. Our people.peace to the natives around the world
Good to hear. The power of this band has always been in making epic songs with a story attached. Never any fluff. I used to think that this song was all about the native American perspective. It was years later that I discovered that it's from the perspective of both sides.
IRON MAIDEN IS ONE OF THE GREATEST HEAVY METAL BANDS OF ALL TIMES 💀💀☠☠🎸🎸🥁🥁🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
THE GREATEST band in metal history 🤟
Yep
The greatest ❤
Definitely one of them
The best ever heavy metal band is Saxon.
This is one of the greatest songs in metal history.
you can remove "metal" from that and it is still true.
En particular, uno de esos temazos de rock and roll que se mastican por su plasticidad, como el rock de la cárcel, Highway Star, Ballroom blitz, etc. Todos los instrumentos parecen haberse vestido para la ocasión.

It makes fun of Americans

Wod oof tenks an tings 11403 Nicko McBrain just seems to love life and everything about it. That's why he's my favourite Maiden member (even though I'm a guitarist/bassist.
Iron Maiden narrates Native American History better than our own teachers. 🇺🇸
In some ways they are the "forefathers" to groups like Sabaton
You do realize its about the same accuracy as like, the ija retelling the events of the khmer rouge. An imperialist nation attempting to bank on some event they had no way of really understanding lmfaooo but yea bruther they really got history down in a maiden song. Sincerely signed someone thats worked for natives.
exactly. they need to play this video in every american history class.
Yes, settlers and native Americans clashed while riding in automobiles.
Amen!!
Ive loved this track for over 2 decades...... but i'm an audiophile and musician so when i hear a track i hear the tone and pitch of a voice in relation to the music, not the words themselves and today i decided to tune everything else out and hear just the words.... and..... wow.....this track has depth and meaning i never realised. its extremely sad and dark and speaks so deeply that i'll never hear this track the same way again and i cannot express the respect i have for Iron Maiden for choosing that power chord progression for these lyrics which shows their level of understanding of the subject matter, and its purity and they're rallying people around the truth of the facts.
So, Iron Maiden i do doth my cap and bow in respect.
Well done Iron Maiden, well done.
I'm glad you did that.
I just love the tempo of this song. Just like a galloping horse.
Good to make out to as well!
It's the bassline, Steve Harris does a lot of galloping on their songs
You can think Steve Harris (the Bassist) for that galloping soundtrack
That's more 4 Horsemen, but to each thier own.
Fastest fuckin drums in the west
I bought this when it came out in '82. I was 19 and this is the song that really stuck in my head. Still hauls ass almost 40 years later.
Same here
I heard this song for the first time, about 10 years ago now. And a shiver literally ran down my spine from the song a I just had to hear it again! And then I started listening to their other songs. And I instantly became fan of Iron Maiden. And to this day, Iron Maiden is my favorite band and I've seen them on concert several times! Up the Irons! 🤘
I was gonna buy this in '82, but then i remembered i was 3 years old.
Based man, I'm 25 and was thinking the other day about how timeless this shit is
No it more than hauls ass
can you imagine that next year this song will be 40 years old and still gorgeous!
@@small_fries7573 How did we go from Iron Maiden to God?
@@small_fries7573 have you ever wondered, what it would take for an omnipotent being to not give a fxck about the life he created? Imagine walking by life and doing nothing as it crumbles, all the while, knowing you can... I've got to be good here, now, to get milk and honey when I die? Fxck that. Why can't God just erase evil? As a Native, I love this. This captures the pain of my people. The brutality that my ancestors faced. It just captures that. I love it.
Edit: To be more specific, My tribe is Navajo and I'm full blooded because my parents are Navajo. So I got to be more specific.
Yo I had a band called osage hills and it was also similar to this but a lot more complex. The osage Indians were massacred in the 1920 in Oklahoma.
Feel as I should also state that my daughter has native american blood from her Mother.

LYRICS
[Intro]
White man came across the sea
He brought us pain and misery
He killed our tribes, killed our creed
He took our game for his own need
We fought him hard, we fought him well
Out on the plains we gave him hell
But many came too much for Cree
Oh will we ever be set free?
[Verse 1]
Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes
Galloping hard on the plains
Chasing the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game
Murder for freedom the stab in the back
Women and children are cowards attack
[Chorus]
Run to the hills, run for your lives
Run to the hills, run for your lives
[Verse 2]
Soldier blue in the barren wastes
Hunting and killing's a game
Raping the women and wasting the men
The only good Injuns are tame
Selling them whiskey and taking their gold
Enslaving the young and destroying the old
[Chorus]
Run to the hills, run for your lives
Run to the hills, run for your lives
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
Run to the hills, run for your lives
Run to the hills, run for your lives
Run to the hills, run for your lives

Once, I was at a show, and in between every band change this song was cranked over the PA. On repeat. We must have heard it 12-15 times that night. And no one complained, because this song is legendary
M Robbins must’ve been funny on the second or third repeat when everyone realised that it would play every time
damn bruce is killing those vocals
Sambhav Pokharel who's Damn Bruce ????

Randy Hutchinson He is a vocalist of Iron Maiden.

@@metalliholisti3728 He's trying to be clever.
I’ve been to a lot of concerts but Iron Maiden next year will be my first concert being a freshman in high school, who else thinks that’s the perfect band to start high school with? (I’m currently 13)
Nothing better than Up The Irons... listened to Piece of Mind, watching stars with a cassette deck a few decades back, can't go wrong with Iron Maiden. Nothing better than the best.
GLETJE Dino I started like these guys about 8 months ago and I’m disappointed that it took that long
Mike Urashevich nice
This is my favorite song of theirs!!!❤❤❤
You know how you’ll be listening to a song and you have a couple of favorite parts and you kinda just sit through the rest? This whole song is a good part.
Mike Gillespie I agree but I like the guitar riff at the beginning the best
I totally agree Mike I'm an 80s guy thru and thru may the 80s never die
Mike Gillespie yup
IRON MAIDEN
Mike Gillespie are you north-irish?
This is a song that reminds me of my teen years, and being such an angry girl at the time. This song helped me through my worst times during my lousy teen years. Aside from that, this song is very powerful. 😢😎😀
Music is pretty awesome in that regard.
And now they're carrying you through yous lousy adult life. jk Up the Irons!!
I'm native American and have to say this song is oral history in song format the same way we record history except we don't plug in electric guitars hahaha great song
This tune not only is considered one of the band's most brutal masterpieces, but it also fulfils the liability of showing one of the episodes that set the standard in world history: the Americas' colonization period. That event is well known by the continent's inhabitants, which is something quite obvious, and perhaps there might possibly be a few Europeans who know its essentials, but we need to admit that in Africa, in Asia and in the Pacific, not everybody is really keen on the matter.
I had a huge Iron Maiden poster in my room in 1984. Iron Maiden are a legend!
THIS IS MUSIC! -Eddie Munson
Yeahhhhh!
Eddie is the best character you cannot change my mind
@@promienodrzutowysamuel790 ted wheeler
@@ghostriley9463 he's a close second
This should have been the solo piece Eddie performed on his bass instead of master of puppets. I think stranger things missed a trick there.
they tellin it like it is
It really happened though...
Provide me a non biased source please.
And all was silent
So Glad got to see this AwESOMe Band in Saskatoon SK Canada many years ago an they Rocked it!!🤘🎶✔️
This song is still famous on 2021 love from Kolkata,India.
This song should've lasted atleast 7 minutes. Can't get enough of it. They need to make a remake, a full version.
Clive Burr , the man R.I.P. Thank You .
Iron Maiden one of the best bands live I’ve ever seen hands down and I’ve seen them 3x.
Iron maiden kick ass I saw them in the Seattle colosseum in the 80s and it was the best concert I've ever seen in my entire life !!!
I would have made a pact with the Devil to see them in the 80's.
@@drosophilamelanogaster3957 I went to one of their concerts in Lakeland, Florida on their "Somewhere in Time" concert tour in 1986. It was a great concert, but they were way too loud. It took me a few hours after the concert to hear again.
The music will bring us come together. Love Iron Maiden 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
