Who is listening 2024?
This song came on while I was driving in the middle of a lightning storm. I had it at full blast and let it guide me home. Best perfect musical timing ever.
In early 1985 I moved from New Jersey to Colorado my freshman year. I knew nobody. I saw a kid at lunch wearing a Metallica Ride The Lightning patch on his jean jacket. I said, “Who’s that?” and he told me about this cool new band from San Francisco. So he made me tape copies of Ride The Lightning and Kill Em All.
This song is truly the Ninth Symphony of metal. That bass intro is just amazing, and the vocals are stunning. Cliff Burton was a legend, it's really sad he passed away so early.
I just realized the thing on the middle of the cover for ride the lightning was a chair I always thought it was a microphone 😅
This is my favorite Metallica song.
Mad respect for the San Francisco 49ers for using this song to make an entrance on Super Bowl LVIII 😊
One of the greatest masterpieces in music history.

This girl on my school bus gave me the ride the lightning cassette and told me to listen to it. I was 14. I feel like I owe her a big thank you now that I'm 52 and still dig it.
Love it I'm 64 and still play it LOUD
Anyone listening in 2030?
Lyrics: (since no one has posted them yet)
The Cliff Burton bass solo in the beginning is legendary. He had a huge influence on the Metallica sound.
SOY SOFIA, TENGO NUEVE AÑOS Y ME ENCANTA EL PROGRAMA DE TOMAS REBORD.
If I was a boxer, this would be the song I would walk out to.
any metal song that uses a church bell is top tier by default. That opening is legendary
one of the best intros not just in metal history but in the whole of musical history
Make his fight on the hill in the early day
This song is so legendary!!! The first time I heard it was in Zombieland and I had chills through the whole intro, it was too good!!!
