Thanks for the tips. I need to get better at fishing in heavy grass and not be concerned about how to start with a good set-up. Do you have any exercises that you could suggest to help reduce the fatigue that comes with flipping heavy baits all day? Thanks

Curious as to why you don’t smell all your straight shank hooks. I started running my tag end thru the loop twice, just to decrease the likelihood of the knot working loose with all the grass/wood the hook hits. Works well for me.

I don’t really have a good reason, it’s just what I’ve always done!

I always tie a slip knot and tighten it on the spool then put some tape over it on the spool but most times I just use mono backing

Thanks for slowing down and showing that snell knot. I like the Lil bend on the hook. I flipped today as well, only on my new bfs set . A trd bugz. Number 4 light wire hook. 10lb brain and 6lb leader, it was damn fun!!

Off topic Question Matt . I already have a 3/1 transducer on the starboard side of my transom . It is for the console unit . The bow has a 1 unit with transducer in the ghost TM . Question: Would it be ok to put a second unit on the front with transducer on the Port side ? Because it’s a Bow unit , the Mercury wouldn’t be running when I’m using the Bow unit. So there wouldn’t be any port prop wash . Have you ever did this? And in your opinion would it be ok to do this . Plus there wouldn’t be two big transducers right next to each other causing possible interference. Input would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s another lowrance you can just network and read off the same transducer… but if you want to add a new one then it should work… it may interfere still being that close together

@@MattBeckerFishing It’s a Garmin , and it would be on the port side . The Lowrance is on the 3/1 is on the starboard side . I saw where anglers put them right next to each other . I just thought being 1 on the starboard and one on the port would be better .

I know you change line more than the average weekend warrior, but I wonder if you ever use line conditioner when putting fresh line on? I have been using KVD line and lure for years to cut down on line memory and keep the line smooth. It seems to help.
