Hey bro last week fishing on the River from the bank I throw the ned rig trying to avoid hanging on the bottom Basically using the same technique without real knowledge just avoiding the rocks I catch six small mouths in 1 hr that change my technique Now Whit your video I have a better understanding Thanks
We've been doing a similar thing up here for years, mostly around grass. Use an open hook let it hang in the grass and then snatch it out. Usually the bite comes right after it pops off the grass. We use a 4 inch Ned alot.
That ocho is a fish catcher for sure. I use it ion a strike king jig head. Your strongest attribute on your channel is that you are “real”. I appreciate the education. Your willingness to share, what you share, makes me wonder what you’re holding back. Lol. Inspired! Oh I wanted to tell you the Blue Craw magnum rage bug is deadly on Clear Lake where I live. Thanks for that!
One of my best friends grandson was doing this a cpl yrs ago all on his own stroking on em! No bs! Kid is 17 now and fishing his 1st bfl season and is 21st in our league going into the super.
Like it Todd we have the heads and one bag of them Ocho's never throw the stuff. Until tomorrow maybe it will unlock something for me. Your pal, the building inspector. 😇
My favorite ned last year has been a swinging ned head with a zmans 2.5" tube. I have a lot of luck swimming it or swim then kill it & repeat. I haven't ever tried stroking it.
Not since 95’ but 3 years ago during a tourney, i made a bad cast and was reeling it in and got slammed. I caught over 20 keepers in a 200 yard stretch just slow reeling it in. Ended up winning with 17 and change doing that.
Dude, all I do with a swim jig is stroke it. Other guys are having crappy days and, I'm catching reaction fish. I do the same with the Ned. I'll drag and hop it at first but, then the snapping starts! they can't resist it. They are rarely hungry but, they are always angry! Haha
When Lil Hop calls ( early early 90's) and says he wants to go test a new bait out at Barkley in April , hasn't even painted the heads just skirts . Calls it a Stroker jig . He only had 8 l believe that day only made with him .
I live in Ohio! Fishing sucks here compared to any of the southern states . Never caught a lot of fish stroking a jig. But I fish a tube that way a lot.
I’m glad I’m not the only guy that yells at his trolling motor!😂
My daddy used to do that in 94!!! So yea I was a little earlier than the other guy 😅 lmao Great video brotha
The Ned rig has become my favorite lure during blue bird calm days!
Great video. Todd I've been stroking a Ned rig since 1986😅. 🤜
Spinning Rod Todd isn’t folklore anymore. It’s real. Randy’s right, times are a changin 🤣
Soon stores will start charging more for spinning rods than bait casters
The stroking a jig presentation became famous on Kentucky Lake way back in the 80’s. Still works today.
Schroder's I'm guessing on KY LAKE

Good video brother, thanks for the ned idea. Blessings
Spinning Rod Todd! Haha that's a good one...

Gotta give that a try. Thanks.

I do hold back on some stuff.Lol
Now this sounds like a great idea!
Never hear of it but Zona had a show on stroking a tube. Probably similar bite/situation.
Crackin a tube. It works in spring & fall.
You’re damn right I been strokin ned flanders since 95’
Thanks for sharing.
Been doing that for years. At times and temps it works.

13:50 🤣Guess I’ll be that guy today! Fml!
I may be wrong, but I think it was made popular on the Tennessee River.
looks like a good thing to use old sincos for after one end is torn up!
Sound like I’m talking to my buddy no big head honestly 👍
How is your phone connected to your units

👍
@@toddcastledinefishing5924Yes, incredible caught one on the first cast. Did have another decent LM just fan casting it.
I watched a Matt Stefan Vid on Cracking a Tube and he mentions using the same retrieve with a Ned Rig.
Thk u sir I try it on stclair soon

Come on Todd, you ain't the first. My daddy taught me that back in '95... 😂

9:18 Clutch Eco Glide? Got one last week, threw it a handful of times, great action.
85 to be more specific !!! Thanks Todd 😅

Bill Schroder on KY lake is the first person I ever saw stroke a jig. Back in the early to mid 90s

Todd hope u see this so you save money use superglue one little dab on the Tip just the tip of the worm fish won't throw it then.
I've learned one thing in my 74 years if you think your the first, your not. 😂 some old guy was doing it back in 1905. 😂
I was the first to ever throw a hybrid hunter you can bet the bank on that.😂
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 Chaching!
What prompted the Ned vs another bait ? Because they were on bottom ?
Popular technique with walleye
Dudes with buck tails jigs ripping
It in weeds
I’m 63 and well before my days
My daddy taught me that in 95
Hee hee
That’s funny right there
Get em bud
That's how I fish a med especially in the river for smallies
Put that superglue on it. 😂
I have what I call a shakey ned. When I'm fishing a shaky Head and they keep biting the tail on my worm I'll screw on a ned style bait
I do the same thing!
Back in 95 I could throw a pigskin 1/4 mile
My daddy taught me that in '95.
Only back then we called it trenching
I live in Ohio! Fishing sucks here compared to any of the southern states . Never caught a lot of fish stroking a jig. But I fish a tube that way a lot.
I live in ohio also. Fishing does suck
My Dad taught me that in 94
What size reel 200 or 300?
I think either is fine I believe it’s just how big the spool is and there is always plenty of line on a spinning reel
I've got multiple fairy wands in my boat and a Ned is ALWAYS tied on.
Put a ZMan Finesse TRD or a Rapala Ned BLT on there and you won't lose a single one all day!
But I won’t get as many bites
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 I think you will. LOL
Super glue those things it will last more than a fish or two.
I hop the bait only; I don’t stroke it sounds pretty gay 😂😂😂
Every "new technique" in fishing is old.
Hover rigging is old?
