Love the videos! Given me heap of backyard enginering ideas to do to my G6E, 100% Wangara Auto Trans are the best! They saved me arse when i got a shonky transcooler installed by BPT Motorsport and had a ZF gearbox that leaked all of the transmisson oil out of the seal, Toke it back twice and still leaking, They told me to drive it to there workshop with no oil in the trans lol, I rang Wangara auto trans, Told them the story and he got me in a week earlier because of the issue and fitted a proper rubber gasket and steel pan to the transmisson, Super Job and save me big time as BPT didn't even want to sort out the issue after i dropped $1600 on custom transcooler install and transmission service!!!! Keep up the good work and great advice!!!
If you don't want to blow $180 on the balancer remover that will get used once; I just did mine using a cheap 75mm 3-jaw puller from autobarn and a cable tie to keep the jaws from slipping outwards and off. Used a sawn-off bolt head in the crank for the centre screw of the puller to press against (as it is smaller than the hole in the crank). Worked like a charm and the whole install took around an hour with no major hassles. Also recommend to change the front seal whilst the balancer is off. Got my kit from Mace Performance as they had the best price.
Backyard Bunky Builds that’s huge! So def worth it then? Can I ask where you got it from? Also thinking of mild cams and valve springs? What’s your thoughts on that? Worth doing or waste of time?
@@jaymoss9237 Cam shafts and valve springs will make a difference in power but I feel that the cost is a bit high. I'd save it as a final mod once everything else is done if you still feel its necessary.

Thanks for this. I thought it was a coolant drop and radiator out job. Didn't realise the radiator is as thick as a slice of toast. Now i'm going back and fourth of whether to attempt it myself or not. Did you crack the balancer bolt with a hammer tool or just breaker bar and hit the key?

Hi Elias ...I haven't experienced any engine lights or issues associated with the underdrive kit at all. Its an awesome modification and makes the engine feel much more responsive while picking up a noticeable increase in power.
Hey man! Have you looked into the Davies Craig EWP upgrade? Was looking at this myself lately. About to do the extractors and power bond on a BA trayback which I assume will be smackers considering they are lighter? 🤷♂️. I’m also considering the crow cams. Not sure though.
Hey Chris I've used the Davis Craig pumps before on other cars and had them fail so I'm a fan of mechanical water pumps now as nothings worse than cooking an engine at the side of the road. The BA tonner should be awesome....keep me posted on how she goes 👍👍👍
Backyard Bunky Builds shall do! You are probably right about the electric pumps. Have you seen the Torque amp? Man that’d be fun. I’m waiting to see what their next model looks like but I’m keen as.
Id also recommend going a higher diff ratio.... with the 6 speed zf id say 3.7 or 3.9 ratio will get it off the line better.... A good tune is also going to make a noticeable difference in power. Good luck with the 13's, id say if you want 13's you either have to open the engine up and start doing cams, high comp pistons etc orrrrrr turbo lol. Honestly putting a turbo on these barra's are ridiculously easy and cheap and make good power even the n/a engines...
@@tom6549 Haha, not turbos but it runs 6L SS's for their money, but I currently have 4495 headers with high flow cat, streetfighter cai, lsd and diff gears done, underdrive kit. Thats all I am doing on the car until I can legally register and buy the turbo model.
Your video is interesting and informative. However, I do have a question. Your message on the screen said 125nm torque but you did not show that important step. Using a torque wrench is easy, but, how did you prevent the crankshaft from turning so you could apply the torque? Thanks.
Hi Ken I locked up the powersteering pump (fan belt attached) using a breaker bar against the subframe and this allowed me to undo and tension the bolts when finished
G day Zack its actually a pretty easy job to do yourself. If your not confident its a pretty easy n cheap job that any qualified mechanic can do in a few hrs. If you try yourself I'm happy to help ya.

Hi mate, I did a water pump pulley on my g6 it has a standard 195 Barra. Do I have to replace entire water pump or can I just put new bearing and pulley on there? I’ve ordered a pump but it looks a bitch to replace. Was thinking of just switching over the pulley if it’s possible.
Gday Crypto Ozzy ....I'd probably change the whole waterpump rather than just the pulley but it depends on it's condition. Sometimes its best to do it once and do it right.

To be honest i haven't done the pump on mine but id probably chuck a tray under it incase you drop too much coolant and I think the powersteering pump should be fine. Let me know how ya go.
@@backyardbunkybuilds7461 we did the whole pump it wasn’t too bad for someone who doesn’t work on cars much, lining the gaskets up and reaching the bolts was the hardest part. Unfortunately the pumps don’t come with a tapped thread on one of the holes which you need to secure the rear metal pipe on but I used a bolt and nut, I really need to pull it apart again to loctite it though I forgot!
Gday Ayzaad this mod does not require any tuning as it only reduces parasitic power loss from the auxiliaries run by the fan belt and a reduction in reciprocating mass. Its a great mod and i highly recommend it 👍

Did the same thing mate, thought the tool was a rip off so got myself a basic gear puller from supercheap and it came straight off!

I locked up the engine by using a bar to lock the steering pump pulley from memory then used the breaker bar. Its actually an easy install.
Depends what a shop will charge you .....because if you have to buy the tools it maybe cheaper to get it done by your local speed shop. 👍

They do 13s piss easily mate. Blokes have even run mid 12s on NA barras.
you do not need to do cams to do 13s in n/a barras. My 5 speed fg does mid 13's.
