That is so cool!
where are you at? Are you anywhere near Texas? As of this moment my violin is almost completely raw wood i need it varnished. Thought I'd do this myself but I'm not too sure anymore!
Hi can I put oil varnish over Spirit varnish should I use ground sealer first
What is used to thin spirit varnish. I have some that needs a big of tweaking up because it's starting to get sticky.
thin it with alcohol
Denatured alcohol.
Hey buddy how do you take the old finish off a violin without damaging it and can I stain it after that with regular wood strain or do I have to use something else
are you joking ? this guy tells how violins are varnished ! a ground of 2-3 coats clear is applied , the VERY SUBTLE AND SPECIALIZED COLOR is added into the subsequent coats as this fellow says here ! In an other video you mentioned that the varnish is shellack, which can be bought as flakes, but here you mention all sorts of ingredients to making the varnish. I am really confused now.. Can I use the flake shellack to re-varnish a violin?
