What a video ?. I am so impressed , I want to thank you for your video from the bottom of my heart , ❤️ ❤️ 💙 💙 💜 💖, Please don't stop. Go ahead 🚶♀️ 🎠 🚶♂️,
your channel is unique. I saw lots of channels , yours is simply the best. please talk about differential in detail and work on repairing parts more. thanks a lot bro.
So much better.. I've been driving for 50 years and this is the first time I've really understood the inner workings of a gearbox. I still don't quite follow how synchro works.
Much better without the music. Now I wonder if you can show how far the clutch pedal has to be pushed in to make a smooth shift? Say the pedal can go 6 inches in, is 4 inches enough or should the clutch pedal go all the way in until it cant go any more? There is no video on this that I can find.
Dear! the clutch has to travel until power transmission from the engine is interrupted. Now that can depend on how high the pedal is adjusted. If it is adjusted high, pedal has to travel long distance for the clutch to disengage.
When the car is in first gear, you can notice that the 2nd and 3rd gears are still engaged. Why is that? Does that not affect the output of the driving shaft?
Dear! Even though the speed gears are always in mesh, they are riding over a bearing. Power will be transferred only when the shift sleeve connects the speed gears to the output shaft.
It is because the speed gears are in constant mesh with the counter gear, however; the speed gears are mounted on roller bearings and hence power is not transferred to the output shaft directly. Had it not been in constant mesh they would have been sliding mesh type making the gear shifting especially at high speed very slow. only first gear and reverse gears are convenient for sliding gear shift as they are selected with the car stationery. Making all speed gears sliding gear require giant gearbox as large speed gears require twice the space they currently occupy to operate as a sliding gear.
My Tata Safari Storme has started making grinding noises when i shift gear. My first guess was that synchroniser rings could be damaged. But can all the synchroniser rings be damaged at the same time? The noise comes shifting from N to 1, 1 to N to 2, 2 to N to 3, and then N to Reverse. Any guesses?
Dear! Dis you check if the clutch is fully disengaging or not? If there is a problem with clutch disengagement, that could cause gear shifting and synchronization difficult.
This is much better than the other video. Thank you for making this change, AbJ.
I appreciate that!
Thank you for making it without the music. This is probably the best explanation of a manual transmission I've ever seen.

Clutch travel is really dependent on the car itself, its not universal. To be safe you should fully depress the clutch.

Can someone explain to me why the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears are allowed to spin even when not selected?
