Clay is useless as a protector and future husband.

There’s a difference between saying you want to change and be better and doing something about it. I get it’s hard but he is a grown man and needs to take action to start the process because it’s affecting others. Self awareness is a great step but it means nothing if you don’t do anything about it
When Clay said Black men aren't faithful...I just knew he surrounds himself with men like his father. And it's sad that he's never seen a real man at his big age
Unfortunately this is what’s happening with a lot of the younger men they don’t have the best examples and cheating/being womanizers is all they’ve seen. They think it’s normal that’s a huuuuge problem rn in our culture
When you say real do you mean faithful? I'm sure he's been around real men. He's an independent black man, and I think he's had proper guidance.
He's being transparent about his feelings. I appreciate that he is discussing his insecurities and fears. I hope he gets the help he needs.

I was referring to "real men" in regards how they conduct themselves in relationships since that's what he was talking about when he said all Black men are unfaithful. I wasn't saying it in general, I was meaning it in the context of that he was speaking about

In my opinion, Ken was good with Brittany in the pods because she is great for him in theory but the real world and the convo with AD made him realize that he can’t be with a white woman. He literally shut down.
They weren’t even great in theory. I always said they were cringy. They literally were checking things off a list of archaic ideas that really weren’t honest depiction of people, but caricatures.

Kenneth was doing some serious gaslighting. He was so obviously shut down, but he kept denying it and being rude to Britanny when she gently tried to broach the subject. He kept putting it on her, saying things like he was "feeling it" - so it must be her issue. Very immature and mean. The least he could do was be honest rather than make her feel crazy and like she was expecting too much.

I completely see what you’re saying about AD and her energy! For me personally, it would be a huge turn off for my fiance to constantly talk about how his father/company he surrounds himself with are all cheaters. I was so disappointed when he said that. It’s like he’s setting himself up to cheat and be like “what’d you expect? I didn’t have good role models!”

He ticked me off this episode as well, but I'm wondering if they're another couple like the season before last, the African guy and the blonde girl, can't remember their names, but I think her name is Chelsea, where everyone kept saying he wasn't into her, but in reality he really was.
I especially hated the way Ken tried to flip on Brittney talking about she pulled back from him IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAMN NIGHT WITH ALL THE LIGHTS ON WHEN SHE WAS ALREADY SLEEP! I was done with Ken at that point. I felt so bad for Brittney, i think she was genuinely hurt!

Lol before clay started stacking the plates there was a platter of plantains and instead of asking if she wanted anymore he puts his hands over each one instead of using a fork and mixes everything together. I had the exact same look of disgust that AD did lol
The plate was in front of him, so it seemed like it was part of his meal.

I appreciate when people stack up the dirty dishes at a restaurant, but you need to ask if someone is finished when there is food still on the plate. It seemed like AD was not done eating to me, but Clay was passive aggressively signaling that she would not be eating anymore of that food by stacking the plates. It could have been the way they edited it, but that’s how I perceived it.

I feel bad for Chelsea because she doesn't see that her insecurities are the root cause of her constant need for validation and probably a huge reason previous relationships did not work out. Being in a relationship with people that need constant validation like Chelsea and Clay is draining. No amount hugs, kisses, I love you, passionate sex, and PDA will ever be enough. You can not feel that void. It requires healing, and that begins with addressing the root cause if the insecurity.
And she still in denial yesterday she made a tiktok saying she knew she was a "little insecure". 😅
Clay never asked AD if she was finished with her plate prior to stacking them. His actions were very self involved.
Not trying to diagnose anyone but he’s been giving me adhd vibes, he kept walking in circles in the pods and he always has to be doing something and his jumps from conversations. He’s super energetic person and it seems his mind is racing a lot

The part at the table with Clay and AD, what it felt for me was that he did not want her to eat more. They still had a lot of food on their plates and Clay never asked if she was done. He finished drinking his soup, and threw the rest of the food. It felt off to me that he did that, it felt like he was trying to make sure she wouldn't eat the leftovers. This is of course my feelings towards the scene
I respectfully disagree with your take on Jimmy feeling guilt. Chelsea was being insufferable. She's certainly entitled to her feelings but that doesn't mean they are valid. She's projecting her insecurities onto him and that's not fair. She's the gaslighter in their relationship.
She has serious issues that she needs to address until then she will project onto every man she dates. She’s actually a beautiful girl it’s a shame she doesn’t realize it

I’d say she keeps being scared off by his stupid ass conversations about him having poor relationship skills and lack of self-love. She probably sees herself in her “I don’t feel like I deserve love” mentality and doesn’t like it reflected back to her. She knows he’s going to hurt her. She’s bracing herself.
Agreed, I think AD has her own lack of self-worth to deal with but her facial expressions look more like surprise and concern. She's reacting to his glaring red flags.

AD has put herself in the role of being a fixer. Clay wants to emulate his dad (his idol), but he understands that his dad's ways are toxic, and that's causing an internal conflict that AD can not fix. If Clay doesn't get help and they marry, AD will end up in the same situation as Clay's mom.
AD really liked Matt. Clay gave her the ick in the pods but she had no other options and stuck with him. He then doubled down on the ick he gave her after all that changed man talk when they talked about her gaining weight. There is nothing Clay can do that will not irritate her moving forward. She didnt want him, “settled”, and ended up disappointed.
I'm thinking what will be AD's decision at the altar and if she'll be the first to answer. 😮

This episode confirmed a few things for me: 1) AD was definitely flirting with Jimmy in that first meetup episode and I think it's because something about Clay rubs her the wrong way and it's not something we think (based on what we're seeing). She doesn't like that man & I'm wondering if she's playing all of us 2) Kenneth doesn't like Brittany 3) Amy isn't sold on Johnny and will use her dad to back out of it and 4)Laura is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Kenneth on the phone as soon as they get off the plane was triggering. I felt bad for Brittney because I’ve definitely been there. And AD was definitely tight about Clay shutting down the rest of the plantains and cleaning the table like he’s wearing the ring 😂

I noticed Ken wasn’t feeling Brittany at the beginning of the honeymoon. Him looking in her eyes just gave me dishonest, like he was trying to get through it. She was all in but he definitely wasn’t.
This is a crazy theory BUT maybe AD wanted a white guy to have her Lauren and Cameron experience, then Matt broke things up with her so she had no option than saying yes to the next best thing: Clay. That's why shes making all those faces and acts super flirty with Jimmy but not with Clay.
Clay is faking it till he make it. He is convincing himself that he’s all in but he’ll say no at the altar or should.
It was insulting for Clay to air the dirty laundry about his parent’s marriage. It was a disrespectful thing to do, especially to his mother.
ETA- celebrating 36 years of marriage this month. Our parents were married for over 60 years.

To be honest, I feel like that was something he was holding in since childhood. The moment he was given the opportunity to say it, he ran his mouth unbeknownst to how it may sound to the rest of us

The last scene with AD and clay was sad Clay dad really messed him up. I thought it was brave for him to go that in depth with her and share that information. He came across as vulnerable in that moment. What annoyed me in this scene is AD kept saying yeah, yeah, and mmhmm, mmmhmm. It came across like she didn’t want to hear what he was saying and wanted him to be quiet. Clay said he needs help I hope he gets it because no child should have to witness their parent cheat and have to hold their parents deceitful secrets it appears that was traumatic for him. I was blown away by what he revealed that’s definitely a red flag. Wow it’s going to be interesting to see how this couples relationship plays out after what he said in this scene.
Sooooo Clay didn’t have these “demons” before coming on the show? 😂 I feel like that is something he should have sought out therapy for before looking for a “blind” love. Neither one of them are feeling it after sex it appears. Hmmmm
I felt bad for Brittany. Kenneth should just be honest with her about his feelings. If it's not there, it's not there. I've been in education for 31 years, and I've been a school based administrator; yes, it is a lot of work, but Tammy, you are 100% correct: if it waited 3 weeks, a couple more hours wasn't going to be that big a deal.
AD has got to stop settling for the okey doke. This man is screaming from the mountain top, but you refuse to see it.

2 things I noticed this ep:
-AD sounded surprised that clay wanted to introduce his father to her. Idk if it’s bc she actually doesn’t want to meet him but I thought it was expected that everyone meets the family/friends, so why be shocked?
-In group settings, Kenneth always seems to look lovingly at clay/AD together as if he’s missing out. He made a couple “look at Black love, y’all so cute” type of comments with them. Idr him complimenting the other couples similarly. I’m not sure he’s ready for Brittany or being honest with himself

My issue with AD asking that question is that she's not a close friend of Ken's. If it came from friends and family it's fair game, but a stranger... nah, it's none of your business Ms AD
When Clay was talking about how he’s never seen a black man be faithful to a black woman, I believe he meant from a personal standpoint. More specifically his family members. So I think he should’ve corrected his verbiage when explaining that, to not include ALL black men in that explanation, because that gives a very bad look. But even still that is VERY sad to hear. And I agree with you Tammy, now that he’s an adult, he should be surrounding himself with people that set a better example. And have WAY better role models, especially considering the man thinks he’s ready to get married

That way it can be called out and addressed, because it’s not OK, that kind of behavior is never OK, but it’s a reality a lot of people face. #BringJesusBackInTheHome

Thank you for mentioning the cleaning up of the plates. I do that ALL the time! People laugh at me but I find it is courteous for the same reason you said. I found that reaction to be odd from AD as well (unless it was edited that way). I also understand Clay's worries given what he has been exposed to with cheating and marriages that don't last etc. I thought Clay came across much ok because he put out his concerns for what he has experienced.

Clay is bread crumbing the idea to AD that there will be a possibility he may cheat so that when he does he can say he’s always been honest about how this may be a problem in their relationship. If you’re so introspective and aware that you have a lot to unpack in this regard why go on a show to be married!

I agree. This episode AD seems to have lost some attraction for Clay. She is not ignoring the flags the way Paige did. She also is a lot more confident in her herself than Paige ever was. I still cannot deny the other similarities.

If you got swabbed for strep at urgent care and it came back negative, but your throat is still sore after a couple days, make sure to go back and have them really swab your throat good because I got sick with strep and they didn’t swab well so it came back negative so it was left untreated for about a week and it’s awful. Take care of yourself and feel better! ❤

Thank you!!!!!!!! I literally been saying this. AD is the 1 who 1st brought up how he didn’t look how she expected. Clay called her gorgeous and was kissing on even before he saw her booty at the reveal. He was definitely surprised but he wasn’t totally disappointed. He was actually in the midst of complimenting her when she stood up. AD has confidence she literally said what is he gonna do with all of her. I think the “I’m a baby” talk by Clay is already getting old. She told Jimmy AD was a lot not the other way around. And I think AD was annoyed with the plates because he didn’t ask her if she was done with her food. She was eating plantains in the scene right before. He just started stacking the plates. Go back and look she was confused. Plus the soup was a bit much to her. AD doesn’t want to be a man’s momma. She may paint her nails red but she is not tryna raise a man. People were definitely projecting because AD is darkskin.
That last scene with Clay and AD all I kept saying was can you breathe because you are going non-stop. Also Clay probably has worked in food service before which I have and you just kind of start doing that without realizing that you're doing it because you find it easier for the server .And I completely agree with you. AD does not like Clay. Clay is not AD's type.
