    It is important to have the courage and conviction to start something completely of your own as early as your thirties, to completely get rid of all this corporate mess and get independent; no matter howsoever little the monetary gains are. Initially things would be always tough for anyone and everyone. But once you get the rhythm; you will be forever on the consistent lane for your entire life..

      Wouldnt totally agree with you. There people who have it in them to run their own work others do not. So it depends on the person. Moreover its sometimes more economically better for a person to work for big orgs. Each of the salaried division heads of any big company are capable of running their own business. But then they get such high salaries that its does not seem worth running their own business.

    • @surajpatil6924
      @surajpatil6924 Год назад

      @jonron3805 Agree
      But, what is the percentage of such beneficiaries; have you ever 🤔 thought of it ?
      Yes, for the elite workforce say less than 10 percent of the overall ; your concept may well apply...!

    • @jonron3805
      @jonron3805 Год назад

      @@surajpatil6924 Ok let me give you a statistic. 90% startups fail. And this is not just illogical. There is very good reason for this. Its very very different in having skills to execute and implement a project than run a business. Most of the worlds biggest businesses are run by people who may not even have basic low level skills of the product they are manufacturing. So that tells a lot in terms of the difference between a job and entrepreneurship.

    • @surajpatil6924
      @surajpatil6924 Год назад

      @jonron3805 Still agree..
      But, the reason of this failure is ; even when people plunge into entrepreneurship; there mindset is still that of a paycheck to paycheck guys...!
      I started the conversation keeping in view the super longterm perception.
      People try to accelerate too much; depending on too much funding, diluting equity for no reason, being overconfident in advertising and marketing...etc
      First thing what I think is important is ; to develop that entrepreneurial mindset. From here the game starts from scratch. If there is really some great opportunity to work on some project for some time with some company ; even when one has spent some years as an entrepreneur; then that is also not a problem.
      Because, this guy had already cultivated that real world business thinking and knows the intricacies of a lot of aspects related to it.
      Also, entrepreneurial thinking is not something which is ephemeral; it has the power to evolve and transcend from generation to generation...!

    I was put in a PIP, apparently for my "improvement". I agree the tasks were not like so difficult. However, after the PIP duration was completed, some mistakes were amplified for what they actually were, and they wanted to extend PIP. I resigned and started to build something of my own. PIP is real hell and it induces trauma. It’s screws your self esteem. Not worth it.

      I wud suggest that you complete your PIP period and don't quit. After PIP even if you get removed, you will atleast be eligible for unemployment benefits and your relieving letter will mention that you resigned from your job and hence this will not affect your future employment.
      But the sad part is that this will diminish your self confidence and you need to get some support. Especially if this is happening to you in your mid career, when you have financial commitments, it can be a living nightmare.
      I sincerely wish that I can start a support channel for employees who have been through unfair PIP! ...coz money can be earned, new job can be pursued....but once self confidence drops...you are bound to screw up the next good opportunity you get too!

    Without doubt PIP is used to fire people. I know of a friend who had never been a poor performer. He had some disagreements with his manager once. The manager, her boss and the HR put my friend under PIP. They asked him to achieve an annual target in just three months time. Even the best of performers can't do that. The writing was on the wall. They were going to fire him after three months. He did the honorable thing and resigned immediately. When companies decide to come after an employee, he/she doesn't have much choice. It's better to just leave and find less toxic places to work.
    As for my friend, he waited a bit and found a job with a 40% salary hike.

    I can so relate to this video! It all started in MAY 2023, I was taken into meeting room by my manager, I was informed that PIP has been initiated against me and that is just mere "Khana Poorti" and it won't affect my employment!
    Production target for NPS was 71% minimum to be achieved by everyone on floor. I struggled to achieve even 40% as monthly NPS Score.
    I had a lot of disagreements and arguments with my line and upline manager, I didn't act as Sheep and wasn't a "Yes" Employee, so this Manager acted very smart, because he was aware that I am struggling to achieve even 40% he setup the target for PIP as:
    Week 1-68%
    Week 2-68%
    Week 3-70%
    Week 4-70%
    I mean look at how smart he crafted firing strategy! An individual who struggled to achieve 40% monthly NPS score, all of a sudden how can an individual achieve those scores in 4 weeks?
    I achieved:
    Week 1-64%
    Week 2-63.5%
    Week 3-76.5% [Over the Target]
    Week 4- 60%
    Sets me to fail! On 5th June, takes me to meeting room, says PP cannot be extended, since targets weren't meet, either resign or we'll get you fired. And I had to resign, forcefully!
    We had 4 metrics that gauge employee performance, AHT, Attendance, NPS and FCR. Out of 4, 3 were met, I was unable to meet NPS targets and he used this as weapon, backstabbed me, to get rid of me and he was successful!
    Worst feeling till date, I should have resigned on 5th May itself because it was indeed a trap so that he could get rid of me! I wonder how such individuals get promoted? 🤔

      @@Kumar-pp9mg in my case i was given the threat of a pip from next month, even though my performance is good and my performance review 2 weeks prior was excellent. this was done by HR and the director, my manager was just the middle man in the process. so the moment i got the random negative write up, i put 100% into job searching. you should do the same if you're in a similar position. the company will just make some bullshit excuse to fire you or keep you in the firing line. Those who have been on PIPs are marked by the company (everyone will know of it via office gossip), and even if you pass it, its like the PIP never ends. the atmosphere and conditions will remain exactly the same as being on a PIP even after you pass it. they will block you from lateral moves within the company too, because everyone will have the record that you've been on a PIP
      best thing to do is put 100% of your time and focus into job searching, and trying to get your job interviews done at times you're not working or (if virtual interviews) trying to get them done during your lunch break or at times when your work load is light and you're not being directly monitored. its preferable to hand in your notice BEFORE you're on a PIP so you leave on your own terms and aren't marked thereafter. but if you're already on a PIP, sign the new job offer before putting in your letter of resignation. That way you're already covered. the PIP is designed to get rid of us, so the management on the receiving side will only be happy to go ahead with the notice period etc. But check your contract around whether you'd be entitled to a notice period while on a PIP, or whether when you hand your resignation they'd just fire you right away without a notice period. In that case, you MUST have the job offer signed with your new company BEFORE handing in the letter of resignation, even if you sign it the same day.

    What about notice period in PIP? Is person allowed to serve notice period after PIP period?

    • @careertalkshorts
      @careertalkshorts  Год назад +3

      I guess if the PIP is not successful the company may ask one to quit sooner as per terms of employment. Notice period may not come into picture.

      @@careertalkshorts this is mal-practice done by the company. Intension is to terminate the employee

    No point of implementing this plan, if the company is gonna fire the targeted employee either way, instead, they can maintain better transparency while they hire.
