The bassist in my old band sent peter hook a myspace message around 15 years ago asking for advise for our first gig (not sure what he expected!) But hooky replied almost instantly and said something along the lines of " Do what we did and fight the audiance" ...one of the most influential bassists of all time out of 2 of the most influential bands and he still took the time to reply to a bunch of nobodys and wish them well...a genuine legendary person , last of a dying breed....
Great entertainment! Anyone who is from Salford and was young back in the 1980’s / early 1990’s will never forget those times. Good to Hooky telling stories from an insider perspective

I’ve destructive relationships with my brothers. I’d be a mix of Shaun and Paul. I wouldn’t say I’m loud “look at meee!!!” Like Shaun. But I’m talented like Paul. A bit more mouthy though.

Paul is my favourite bass player in history, but you can't deny Hookies influence on pretty much every modern indie band... It's a running joke between me and my mates, sunday afternoon on the Other stage at Pilton, you get ten bands in a row that sound like Joy Division

Hooky is another one who's been through it all. The highs and lows of bands, deaths, drugs, ups and downs with Caroline. The man has had to put up with a lot. Certainly a worthy interview, although only the tips of icebergs. I doubt he would want to go through a full 15 episodes with Barbara Walters Jnr. x
Tony Wilsons attitude of giving the band to other producers instead of Hooky may simply be experience in those 80s days. Maybe he wasn't a big name, and just seen as a bass player?
