PotomacBeads is excited to bring you another great peyote and herringbone stitched project! Tereza will teach you how to make her Radiant Starburst Earrings. This is a great project for intermediate beaders who are looking to add a little something extra to their repertoire. So, grab your beads and let's get started!
Take four delicas and slide them down on the thread, leaving a 10cm tail. Go through the delicas again to make a circle and then thread through the first delica again. Continue with a peyote stitch to add four more delicas. Then add two delicas to the beads in the corners. Continue to stitch on beads until the base is big enough to hold the dome bead. Glue it in the center.
Watch the Radiant Starburst Earring tutorial to see full detailed instructions. You will be beading a disc around the bezeled dome bead by using a herringbone stitch.
Bezel the chaton to attach to the top of the first piece. Add the earwire and you're done.
These Radiant Starburst Earrings are a great way to use up leftover beads you have from previous projects. They are easily adaptable to suit your style. You could leave as one piece or add a tassel at the bottom if you'd like a longer earring. Either way, they are sure to make a statement!
Enjoy using this jewelry-making bead tutorial video to help you become a more creative and happier beader!

Today I made the earrings and they've come out so pretty. Thanks so much for this pattern, I know I will make a second pair. The design is amazing.
I love your accent, the earrings are so pretty ❤
Love your design! I want to make these! Beautiful!
Gorgeous earrings! I watched and paused several times to make these. Please pause between each additional step to show us how it looks at that point. It would make it easier to follow along. Thanks!
I love these! They’re so pretty, but I had a hard time following from so far away. 🙁
This is as close as the camera can focus. The working area is about the size of a postcard! You can slow the video down, if you need to. Just click on the three dots at the top of the video and choose the speed you need.
Would this work with a 10mm round bead or a cabochon with no hole?
Hi Andrea, it should, try it out and see. Of course the number of beads around it will change, but they need to be an even number in order to do the herringbone stitch. Experiment with it and see what you discover. Happy beading!
Beautiful project but I can't see where you are placing anything. Like trying to learn from someone across the table or room.
The camera is focused from above the work table in a space the size of a postcard. If you know how to do peyote and herringbone stitches, then you'll be able to follow along. You can slow the speed down if you need to, just click on the dots at the top of the video and select your speed.
