Andrew Berry from At The Bench shows you how to prepare a crucible for melting down silver and gold

• Get your self some powdered borax and a new crucible. Fasten the crucible into a crucible holder and warm it up.
• Once the crucible is warm, sprinkle some powdered borax in the bowl of the crucible and keep heating.
• Sprinkle borax around the edges too.
• Keep heating until the crucible is covered and all glassy looking
