I bought this unit...it does both...and then some...reads dvd's too...didn't try to write dvd's yet...a nice unit...and i do trust Asus company...i had/have many pc parts from Asus...a trustworthy company thus far...Peace
Is there a cable included with mini usb or whatever the port is on the drive, and then a normal usb a in the other end ? You said something about having 2 usb a's on the computer to fully use it, not sure what you mean with that. Why do you need 2? One of the cables you showed that came along with it is a usb a to usb a, how do you connect this to the device? It doesnt fit in the port on the device.
i hav a very important question: putting aside the noise it makes during ripping/burning, is there any noise whilst playing a DVD? is it as bad as the sound i heard during the burning process? thank u

You can connect the ZenDrive U9M to a phone if you have 1. Android and 2. an OTG cable. The LG GP65NB60 doesn't come with a Y cable so that's not possible on it. Overall I prefer the ZenDrive U9M over the LG GP65NB60 because of the USB-C cable.

Unfortunately, this drive does not work with Apple computers with USB-C (MacBook Air 2019 + and MacBook Pro 2018 +).

The only other difference between the two is that the U9M also includes a USB-C cable and an additional gold color.
