Josh, great video. I have been trying to set up my R3 display to mimic a DSLR, where the rear display will only show review images and the view finder will remain on. I am not a fan of the display and view finder switching automatically. Any tips for this set up?
Wow so you've never had an issue with the R3 overheating and shutting off? I must have a defective unit because overheating is my biggest issue with it especially when 4k 60fps video and especially when shooting any video res higher than that
@@joshrexford Were you shooting (All-I) the option all the way to the left? Or were you shooting (IPB) or (IPB) light because apparently that makes a huge difference. I sent my canon in because I thought surely mine is a defect and then the guys at canon sent it back with no changes and told me nothing is wrong with my overheating but when I shoot 4k 120 fps after I've been shooting 4k 59.94 fps the camera overheats and shuts down in seconds
@@joshrexford Wow I thank you for responding, I'm actually extremely pissed off at canon repair center right now for sending my defected camera back to me despite all my notes that there was something terribly wrong with the $6000 unit that I got off of amazon
My R3 had a overheating problem once but it’s because I installed a firmware update from canon that got pulled back because it had a bug. I couldn’t even shoot 1 minute before it would give me the warning. I thought it was weird because before that update I could shoot 4k 120 and 60 all day without it overheating. I downloaded the firmware that got fixed and reinstalled it and it fixed the problem. This was like a year ago though but maybe try updating to the newest firmware and if you are up to date, reset your camera to factory settings and do a fresh firmware update again.
Yes to a focus braketing video. Thank you.
Great video! Thinking about adding the R3 as a second body to the R5. Feels like it’ll compliment each other nicely! Thanks!
Thanks for doing the splitscreen thing. It's much better to follow! And now background noise which makes it better to listen with headphones.
Very welcome, glad it helps!
Great video so far! Had to pause to say.. PLEASE do the focus bracketing video lol
ha I'll throw that on my list!!
keep creating.

I’ve had it get warm before, but never shut off! And that’s with shooting 4k 120 or 4K 60 alongside stills.

Yeahhh I always record in ALL-I and have only had overheating warnings maybe once? But it’s never actually shut down on me!
