Sproul is always great, but injecting background music is distracting. Hearing it on a RUclips video is no different than if we were sitting in the congregation. We would consider it RUDE if someone did it at the moment when R.C. actually spoke, and, if he heard that music (even softly) while he was preaching this message, he would stop and ask you to turn if off.
Second, among well-meaning people who insert background music behind the preaching of God's word, there is a tacit assumption that the preaching of God's word is somehow enhanced by adding some kind of media. WRONG! Nothing--and I mean nothing--improves the proclamation of sacred scripture. Adding background music only subtracts from it. Turn it off, please.

Makes me really sad seeing all these comments hating on the music. I've been looking for something like this for a while. Music and truth put together. I always read with lofi music such as this, it helps me stay focused. The consistent rhythm keeps me on track. If you don't like it, move on or listen to the whole thing on Ligonier. Don't demand the author remove his music. Make your own video if you don't like it. Humble yourselves and look inward instead of outward at others. Scowling christians aren't pleasing to God. Meek, humble, joyful and repentant. Look at the fruits of the spirit of God and see if you're displaying those in your comments and if not don't post. All believers you're in my prayers, as well as those that are not saved. What R C is saying is that believing in the lord is a work of the holy spirit in you .
The philipian Jailer was being drawn by the holy spirit to ask and therefore he was goin to receive.
Some christians have taken this verse and tried to brow beat or bible bash anyone into confessing Jesus in a clinical black and white way .
Apart from the work of the holy spirit in there heart you cant convince people to utter this verse.

I love the analogy I heard of Jesus being the only way. It went like this, suppose I lived down a dead end road off the main roads and you wanted to come to see me. So I told you how to get to my house but the only way to get to my house was by following the exact directions I gave or you’d get lost and won’t be able to get there. Now if you decided not to follow my instructions of how to get to my house and just decided to go the way you wanted to go, not listening to my instructions you would as I had told you, not only NOT make it to my house but you would also be lost in where ever the alternate route sent you. This is what GOD gave us, a set of a specific set of instructions. He said that he gave us a savior and that he was the ONLY way to get to him, the GOD of the universe. If we choose to listen and go the way his instruction lead us, we’ll make it. If not then we will get lost in where ever that path takes us. We were lost already but he sent those who gave us his message of instruction on how to reach him. It’s up to us to accept the directions of the creator of all things or, choose our own path and never make it to him at all.

The music appeals to those who God has gifted with musical abilities. For many it causes them to connect more fully with what is being said and to move with the Holy Spirit. I did not especially like this music. it was a little redundant but it didn't distract me. For folks who are hard of hearing the music ruins it for them. They can't hear the words at all. Well, personally, I think that the most misunderstood verses are the ones in the Gospels which generally read, " . . this is my body." It is not "is", literally; it's symbolic. In fact, some translations render it with a dash: " . . this - my body.."
Besides, those at the Last Supper were all Jewish men, who would not drink literal blood. So, that, too, was symbolic. Read U. Zwingli's "18th Article" for reference.

Sometimes it referred to an inclusive smaller circle within a larger circle. John 3:16 may be the most distorted verse in the bible but Matthew 7:1 is likely in the running too. People get stuck on "judge not lest you be judged," and don't consider what Jesus says throughout the rest of the chapter. It says plenty about the Christian's need for spiritual discernment. It's sad how often professed believers use Matthew 7:1 like spiritual pepper spray against each other.

The background music is not distracting...... IF you pay full attention to and listen to the message, in stead of listening with "half" an ear.... I listened and yes there is music but concentrate on the fullness of the message and you will not notice the "distraction"... in love.

Brad Johnson according to Calvinism, God makes a person born again before they call on his name. That's not forced? Get real. Also your definition of sovereignty is not something you have the right to place God under.
He has every right to be sovereign in giving a choice.

This assumes that I have not read Romans 9 and that all of us who disagree with you are ignorant. I have studied the Bible for 34 years. So have many other very good Christian preachers who disagree with you. It is a Not starter in a conversation to immediately pull the Calvinist snobbery out. Some of the most prideful I have seen are the Calvinists. Often talking down like they are superior in their intellect.
Even James White has acknowledged the arrogance in much of the Calvinist camp.
I have heard all the arguments of Calvinists and I simply do not buy it. It is an affront to Gods character and the Scriptures do not teach God made people for the purpose of sending them to Hell with no chance of salvation before they were even born.
But I still call Calvinists my brothers and I respect many Calvinist leaders like RC

Brad Johnson, I'm not sure you understand what "sovereign" is. God Gave us free will to choose, He is sovereign, yes, but He is also Just, and He will NOT go back on His word. He gave command of all the earth to Adam. When Adam sinned, he handed over that command to Satan. That's why Satan is the god of this world. But notice that God never took back that Authority--it was Adam's to give away. Satan is the legal owner of it now (remember what he tempted Jesus with when he took Him up on the high mountain: "all this is mine, and I will give it to you if you worship me"). At least until the "time of restoration of everything". Remember How Jesus wanted to gather Jerusalem under His wings like a Hen gather her chicks? BUT THEY WOULD NOT. It was their choice. Also, it's God's will that none should perish, but many are perishing--Does that mean He is not sovereign? Absolutely not. Yes, He chose you. He chose me. He choses for everyone to come to a saving knowledge of Him. But he does not make that choice for us.

GOD DID SAVE EVERYONE from sin... there was a slave on the auction block and he was bought by a freelander who freed him.. butthe slave refused to remove his unbuckled chains and followed his old master home.. he was bought with a steep price but remained a slave.. he made that choice..case closed.. you HAVE TO ACCEPT THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION..its already been paid..otherwise you choose hell
