Gebo's Garage here. Sorry for the audio in this video. It was one of my first video editing attempts. I'm making progress, I swear. I've got more videos on my channel now. Check out my playlist (Aquarium Related) to see better quality videos. As always, thanks for watching.
Oh man, this is a cool canopy! I'm gonna build one exactly like you did. I'm about to set up a 75 gal tank that I've been doing overflow experiments with. I'm a retired biomedical engineer and wood working is what I suck at the most in life. It's bad. But I think I can pull this off with a little more sloppiness. lol. Thanks!
I work in healthcare... my garage looks like I might know what I am doing... but its all for show. LOL. Cheers. And good luck with the build. I am starting another canopy build with some improvements. Hope you come back to see that one! Thanks for visiting the channel.
I think there's 2 things that would have made it perfect in my opinion, there should be some kind of hinge door system so you don't have to make slamming and startle the fish every time you put the hood front on you can see at 26:16 the fish get scared from the front going on. And then those door handles should have lined up with the ones on the stand. But other than that this is an awesome idea and I'm definitely doing this to my 75g
Yes, I agree. Stay tuned for my next canopy builds... I need to build one for the 150 and 90. I will be incorporating some changes for sure. Thanks for the comment. I hope you come back in a few weeks to check out my other ones. I have the material, just need to make the time :-)
I think you are correct. I have altered the design. It doesn't allow for the maximum exchange of gasses from the surface of the water to the ambient room air . Although, I do have a bubbler installed, which helps.
Yes, a bit. I'm doing another build in another video that will publish soon. I will make some adjustments. Come back and check out the new improved version in a week or so :-)

Nice build
Thanks.
Holy crap dude, I've never seen that device on the table saw. Is it to prevent or reduce risk of kick back? Genous!
Yeah, it grips the board and is supposed to help prevent kickback. It does work and its removable if you don't want it in your way.
Looks good
Thanks. I need to get out there and start building stuff again.
That tight fitting glass on top is a death trap

Good video but the music hurts my ears. Sorry
One of my 1st videos....
Why paint the inside canopy? Help from Moisture?
I do it to protect the wood. My neighbor is an industrial painter. He says, everything gets covered so its protected.
it's a good idea to paint the inside with killz paint to prevent mold.
Gebo's Garage what paint/varnish did you use?
@@michaelevans9146 I used regular latex paint. That's it.
Curious if your front door warped..... Mine did! Lol, back to the drawing board..... 😑
