The Velvet Underground record that sold for $25,000+ was not The Velvet Underground and Nico, but an acetate of a demo session featuring some of the songs that were later recorded properly for the album. That copy was literally found in a garage sale, but you can buy it pretty easily now as the Scepter Sessions LP.

Great video, thank you so much! If anyone could answer this, I'd be very grateful. I recently found the Velvet Underground, Andy Warhole album in the attic. It's an original from 1966, and it's in top condition because my dad is very particular with keeping his vinyls in plastic and being very careful with them. It's in flawless condition. However, I'm wondering why the version he has is from 1966, when the album was released in 1967? I've read several places that this album is worth a lot (as you also mention in this video), but every version I've come across at online actions is from 1967, none from 1966. Does this mean that the album my dad has is even more rare? It's also numbered, it says it's number 50 out of 73. It has the cover with the banana painting, but it's not the peel-off sticker version. Any help would be much appreciated.

I was always playing my guitars and trying to interview bands at concerts. When I was in high school I had a two hour lunch jam session playing and telling everyone about the latest concerts that was a blast. I have books from the 60’s about Beatles fan club stuff. I wish I still had those 4’ tall Beatles bobble head figures we had them in the window of the Sam goodies. The manager was going to throw them away after a year and put in new stuff. Wow! & i was mega- surprised when i tracked a Hawkwind album... (one i owned & bought s/h for £2 or £3) ...thier first one on eBay because i saw it's bids stood at 250'ish G.B.£ with 12 days to go, at the auction's end, it had risen to 750'ish GB£ ...small change in comparison! The eBay ad' had many close-ups of it's matrix numbers & what looked like pin- scratched initials inbetween the run-out groove which i presumed must have been the reason for the high bids as it was no different to my own copy, a very early or 1'st pressing perhaps? or some error in the numbers? I don't know but these album's fetched prices are in a totally different ballpark. I now yearn to hear that one-off album by 'The Poon Tang Clan' (was it?) with the highest price ever got & the "no resale for 100 years" contract. Spotify? ..no chance!

Thanks for the kind words....i looked in to your version. It's got a book value of $100- to $200 based on condition. The Beatles ‎- The Beatles Label:Apple Records ‎- BTX-1005/1006 Format: 2 × Vinyl, LP, Album, Numbered, Mono
Country: Brazil Released: 1969....interesting notes about the version...."the Brazilian first pressing had a lot of problems of printing and pressing, being the pressing the main one . The album itself has sound issues... The speed variations happened because during the tape transfer process the energy of the Brazilian Odeon plant suffered some power oscillations AND the Sound Engineer responsible didn't notice that....Crazy right? Anyway, i love history and thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it.

@@JoshLevineSpeaks Thanks for your comments. The LP is not from the first pressing, it was pressed probably in the 80's or 90's. It is very well preserved (like new), with the photos and poster.

So many copies of the butcher cover with the pasted over trunk cover had the trunk cover removed that the version with the pasted cover is probably rarer

i heard about a sgt. pepper album that had a printed cover with capitol record executives in place of some of the people in the background. it was given to some of the big wigs at the time. only a small handful were printed like this. do you know of this album? are they real? i saw one selling on ebay for big bucks.

I have just over 3,000 vinyl records. They are all in alphabetical order. I have them in two sections. #1 is soundtracks and #2 are all music that was made. I really like to know what is the most expensive soundtrack that was ever composed from a movie. I read it could be The Caine Mutiny. True or false (from 976-CREOLEMAN)?

Funny underneath you mentioned hawkwind I had their album 💿 silver machine only liked that track gave to my friend. My brother said have still got the album because it was signed by the band and they wasn’t so free with autographs. But mine was because my cousin John Whisson who now lives in Canada was their bodyguard. Strange but true.

interesting you didn't mention the first recording to carry The Beatles’ name, scribbled onto the label by managed Brian Epstein. Recorded in Liverpool in 1962, it features the first song John Lennon ever wrote ‘Hello Little Girl’ and was cut just a few months before ‘Love Me Do’

At the beginning you have mad a disclaimer that would not show high value records because of signed or owned by famous person. But when it goes to Joko & Yoko Double Fantasy, it was high valued indeed owned by Mike Chapman and no 1 of Wu Tang Clan has also similar issue. It is high since the beginning.. not because is sought after.
