Sweetheart, I hope this message finds you well. As a former nurse, I’m a bit confused about the use of a laxative prior to an MRI. Typically, medications like Xanax or Ativan are used to help patients relax, but a laxative is not standard practice in this context. I encourage you to advocate for yourself in these situations, and I’m very proud of you for asserting your decision regarding the enema. Your well-being is important.
Yes I know, I’ve had so many pelvic MRIs that I know what to expect so I just wasn’t doing that. I assume it had to do with image clarity. My surgeon once explained to me the differences in MRI machines and all the things that affect clarity and quality so I can only assume it had to do that but I was not giving myself a “mini-enema” as the pharmacist said. She couldn’t stop laughing at me.
The laxative (which normally isn't an oral one) is automatically asked because your escrements may hide some areas it depends what you're looking for. I asked it's not really necessary all the time and if one is so unconformable with it simply don't take it, nobody will check if you took it or not, some centers are fine if you said that you don't want to take it. Simple communication goes a long way.
seriously…? typical American reaction. let me explain. The pharmacist explained to you that the laxative was used to clear everything out so that there are no misinterpretations of the results so that it is clear. she told you that it was possible to take a pill as a laxative but it takes hours (and it happens we don’t know when). so pragmatically it is better to do it at home in peace. Because this is medicine, not shows and I don’t know what. Medicine. In this same way it is better to have care paid for by the entire community than to be unable to treat you but to have a whole “blah blah” theater. “are you okey lady” (but don’t forget the bill for sure). Then the prescription of Xanax?! seriously? do you know what Xanax is? it’s not a candy. a Xanax for an MRI?! wtf? It’s serious not to be aware of this. And I’m not saying this for you. I can see that you are disoriented about the two ways of doing things. But it’s your government that is clearly putting you in overdoses with Big Pharma. Business. Any European will tell you that.
Change your MRI center. I have to do a lot of MRI every year. I tried 4 different places and they all have MRI machines where you can be comfortable and lay your arms along your body. The noise depends on the place, I go to a brand new MRI center near my Parents now and it's surprisingly not loud. It's clear it a newer machine. They are always on time or ahead of schedule so now I go always earlier in case they can take me earlier. But at the public hospital always late, small clinic on time or late, private hospital, on time. Basically there is no general rule here, it all depends on where you go and if you don't like a place simply go to another one. Waiting time also varies depending on the place. MRI center very fast, same day, same week or next week max. Small clinic 1~2 weeks on average. Same with the private hospital. Public hospital 1 month. Never met a staff like the one you did and I spend my time in hospitals, health center etc since 2004. Going back to the hospital tomorrow and expecting a very nice welcome as usual.
I hope that all goes well Adriel. Take Ju- ju with you....❤ Define the limits as to how much or how to take off! Take someone with you to reinforce your opinion.
Adriel, is that an aluminium coffee maker? Aluminium is a neurotoxin. Throw that one out at once and get a stainless one. Also, that MRI procedure sounds harrowing. Would be good to have it done in the States.
What French kids are drinking coffee? Mine never did. They want you to get that early because the French are notoriously late. They make you pay because essentially it isn't free but damn the American price is ridiculous. You're in Paris and there are a lot of people so that's why it feels like a conveyor belt.
All the little French kids drink coffee; talk to any French person they’ll tell you about café au lait bowls. And when I talk about the things I don’t like it doesn’t mean I don’t know why they’re done that particular way, I’m just attempting to describe it in a way that those who don’t live in France can understand. ☺️
Simply change your MRI center. You're probably talking about the pelvic MRI. The laxative is automatically asked because your escrements may hide some areas it depends what you're looking for. I asked it's not really necessary all the time and if you're so unconformable with it simply don't take it, nobody will check if you took it or not, some centers are fine if you said that you don't want to take it. Simple communication goes long way. Same with the gown. If you're so unconformable with it simply wear something you'll be able to keep and is slim enough like a legging or something or wear a short or simply close the gawn completely with your hands so nobody sees anything. I just did it last week. But so you know, nobody is looking for nobody cares. They see hundreds of people every week they have other things to care about. Moreover not all the same places gives the open butt gawn. Many places give the exact same thing you bought online.
I have health insurance and have never paid anything, out of pocket, for any medical tests over more than four decades. However, I have never had an MRI. But, my parents have, but didn't pay anything out of pocket. The national average price for an MRI is reportedly $1,325, but the target fare price is reported at $750. But, an MRI can reportedly range from $400-$12,000 depending on what is done. As for medical records, I've never paid for a hardcopy medical test record. Plus, they are usually either accessed online or mailed to me for free anyhow. I hope that everything came out OK and that you're not so stressed now. Greetings from Los Angeles

Great vlog. Thank you for sharing your experience and giving a brief analysis.
next time do in the hospital it's free with your carte vitale.
The nudity a portion is true. One of my friends experienced that as well as when she lived there. Very different from what we are used to in America.
I hope that all goes well Adriel. Take Ju- ju with you....❤ Define the limits as to how much or how to take off! Take someone with you to reinforce your opinion.
Yep. I will always bring my own robe. 😊
I experienced a gyn and dentist visit while in Paris. The only positive was the dentist visit and that both totaled €30 together!🎉
The French gynecology visit is unreal!! But with all of it, I love the price.

No. It’s stainless steel not aluminum.
Oh gosh I collect brass and LOOOOOVE that easel
It’s so pretty. I love it.
Welcome to the UK NHS. In the USA, you had a Private health service, hence the fee you paid!
I can tell from your voice how stressful this was for you. At least the cost doesn't add to your stress after the fact. Hope all is good.
Truly the cost is the best part. If I wanted a full American experience, I could go to the American hospital for an exorbitant price.
Darling is there anyway you can fly to NYC for your MRI’s. I just had one in July oh that sounds horrible.
I’m not going to pay $6,000 (after insurance) for any MRI when the price is only $50 in France. It’s stressful and weird but the price is reasonable.
Which pharmacy carries chlorhexidine? Each time I visit, I can never find it. 💕 Merci!

@@adrielfelise No they don't. Maybe in Paris they do.
Wondering which mutuelle you have. I hate the one I have now!

Most countries hand you your results. The US is all about the money and shouldn’t be used as a yardstick.
I love smeg anything lol
You almost died 😢
Yes a story for another day.
