Thanks for the vid. Diesel heater should not smell inside the van. However if you happen to leave the window cracked open on the same side as the exhaust it can suck back diesel fumes into the van which is not good so keep it closed.
Our old expensive diesel heater in one van blew smoke outside and noisy inside but our new one in one van and our next van we installed a $150 Chinese heater with cordless remote and 5w power…super quiet and you can control it while lying in bed with on/off fan speeds.
Great episode. The most frustrating thing about my family going camping is leaving late from home. Once we are on the road it doesn’t matter. It won’t ever change but why do we do it repeatedly? One of the reasons I enjoy your channel so much is that you are realistic about life, thanks for always putting together such entertaining episodes.
Haha here it is!! 🤣 Have been waiting anxiously for the dance moves to come out 😝 🤣 The headstands while pissed 😮 impressive Erin 👌💯 Can see how happy you all are being back on the road 😁
Installed a Chinese diesel heater in our old van and wife always complained that there was a strong smell inside the van when it was on, also very noisy fuel pump. I purchased a Autoterm diesel heater for our new van, no smell and very quiet diesel pump. Worth the extra dollars.
In answer to your diesel heater, it's no it's should not smell inside the van. We have an eBay heater, which is now 7 years old, and it's never smelt inside the van, but it will occasionally smell of diesel outside when it starts up. I always tune the heater up before we turn it off to burn away built-up carbon. It was a tip I got from the Chinese diesel heater group on FB when we decided to add the heater to our van.
Hi guys - another great episode. Warwick is my home town & we love it, if you are looking for a great camp site out at Leslie Dam check out the Washpool Reserve camping area it is fantastic, bring some kayaks for the kids a lot of fun 👍
Hi Ian here guys I installed a chines heater they do take a while to burn in and they sound like a jet on start up. You can get quiter fuel pumps lover your show keep the commin
Our last trip was supposed to start at midday - 4.15pm we pulled out of the driveway. Hubby refuses to drive the van late, doesn’t like to set up in the dark so we did 45 mins and stopped. Lucky as he forgot the tyre pressure monitor and had to go home to get it after we’d set up 😂😅🤣… I’m sure it’s cos he actually wanted takeaway for dinner as he stopped at the drive through on the way home. Our diesel heater smelled initially (maybe the first 2-3 times) but doesn’t now. Looks like a fun trip thanks for sharing.
We’ve had Webasto diesel heaters in our last van and our new one and no smells at all plus the fuel is really quiet. Try hanging the pump with cable ties
,Hi guys another great video; Just on the diesel heater I'm pretty sure there should be no smell coming from inside. We have one & I have never smelt anything inside the van. Maybe you should get it checked out 😉
You are not the only ones who leave late! Our diesel heater does not smell inside at all and that is the way they should be. Is your air intake inside the van?
I was so close to coming out from Toowoomba to see you while you were out there but procrastinated a little to long, defs try for next year if you's are going to make it yearly.
Our Webasto diesel heater's pre-set timer wouldnt and still wont work. Even after their one and only technician for the whole of Australia, upgraded the wiring to 6mm. And reset/reinstalled the timer control.
We go to the Leyburn Sprints every year with our vintage caravan. Did you check them out behind the pub? Always have a great time out there. Great episode as usual.
If you are getting a smell inside, it is either weeping in from the exhaust, in which case you should check if there are any small holes or in the floor or it is close to an external vent, in which case you can relocate the exhaust. I have had a couple of diesel heaters in 2 different vans and they have never had a smell inside.
Hey guys those sprints look awesome. We like that you use the same recipe as we do for pancakes 😂. Our cheap heater only gave off any kind of smell for the first couple of uses after than nothing. I know your one sat around for long time so may take a bit of extra time 🤷♂️ That battery is a beast and we hope our new van will be enough for us with 400ah of lithium 🤞
Your daughter reading a book fantastic
More kids should be doing it❤
She loves it! Little bookworm 👍🏻
Yes, nicely noticed.
Because the diesel heater is sitting outside, I wonder if you could build some sort of soundproof box around it to reduce noise
03:15 Packing is never finished, it's often abandoned - so you can leave on time.
😂 true!
Freedom and living the dream is great and time is another thing and always forgotten 😊
👌🏼
Just watched the video, what a crack up with all of you doing handstands. And your famous dancing Alex. Well done.😂
Cheers!

That’s a good point! Might be what is happening
Good head balance and great breaking
Good to see Bertha back on the road and your chairs look great as well
We will have to do the sprints at some stage

Thank you great to know!

You should check out the bunya mountains
Will do, cheers!
Another awesome video. Caravanning & cars....that's the life! I'll be leaving in a few weeks again to go to the Bathurst 1000
Very jealous mate! Hopefully we can actually make it there with you one year!

😂
08:53 Love the tag poking up on you T-shirt - you'll get a white spot for sure - wifey should've come in over the top. to tuck it away.
Mount the pump inside a section of pool noodle. Makes it much quieter.
Great idea! Thanks!
Great to see you back out and about ,how’s the toilet working with the new seals and refurbishing ,keep up the great vids thank you
Thanks! The genuine seal worked perfectly but the non genuine leaked still 👍🏻
@@nowornever_aus glad I went with the genuine one then thank you
I got a 2KW Chinese heater which I don't smell, however the ticking drives me nuts, hence we don't sleep with it on.
Ours seems to get quieter the longer it runs
I was so close to coming out from Toowoomba to see you while you were out there but procrastinated a little to long, defs try for next year if you's are going to make it yearly.
Yes hopefully we can get there again next year!
Our Webasto diesel heater's pre-set timer wouldnt and still wont work. Even after their one and only technician for the whole of Australia, upgraded the wiring to 6mm. And reset/reinstalled the timer control.
Thanks a bugger!
We have had our diesel heater installed for two years and never had any smell inside the van.
Thanks
We go to the Leyburn Sprints every year with our vintage caravan. Did you check them out behind the pub? Always have a great time out there. Great episode as usual.
Yes we did! Such nice vans!
Yep, the smell will bugger off eventually.
🤙🏻

Thank you I’ll check that out 👍🏻
Enjoyed watching as always, have a question though, where did you get the Venetian blinds on your camec windows from
Thanks!
We got them from spotlight, they are made out of pvc so nice and light
Hi guys just watching your you tube clip noticed your awning centre brace what is it thanks jaimie
Hey mate, that a awning support cradle which is there because our awning is so long
The rain would have been a good test for your sealing work, did you get any leaks?
A little through some rivets on the front which we got sorted quickly!
@nowornever_aus
Goodo, fingers crossed it's all fixed now
Good one gays
Bit early on that pancake flip mate
Definitely! 😂
No mate, it is just you... LOL
😂
There should be no no diesel smell. Gas is the way to go .Gas heaters don't go tink tink tink and the muffler, on a diesel, does rattle.
Yeah we had a gas one in the JB, was quite expensive though
your legs must have been so sore after busting those big moves
😂
probably not but who is counting😏
No it should not smell

23:40 She's tight, that's what he said.
Oh Lordy…how were the thighs and the groin?🤦🏼♀️🤣🤣🤣
Good surprisingly!
