Omg I just realized they did this horrible cruel prank to hanna when she (and her siblings) are the ones who invited all of them to this VERY expensive family mansion 💀💀💀 the NERVE
@@sunnywonderland you're right I blame her too for that, very cringe of her 😬 but to be fair she was 18 and I know I was still a bit dramatic at that age too 😔
People saying Hannah deserved to fall from a cliff, have her leg broken, take care of her sister’s corpse dragging it somewhere to be buried (ON ONE LEG) starve alone in a FREEZING place for WEEKS until being so desperate she had to eat her own sister to survive, bc she fell for the prank, are insane. Also the added line for Josh “I tried to find you, I swear” makes me so sad
I know right like if i was their friend i would end this friendship the only person I like is sam and that's it hannah was my favourite character my most hated character is jess like i hated her face from the beginning but i love her face at the end
@@Myartandsongsyes, also Chris (unless I’m missing something) is kind of innocent as well. He was drunk passed out with Josh downstairs and wasn’t involved with the prank. Even when you go to the basement and he sees the doll set up and how the prank actually went down, he kind of calls Ashley out saying how they looked like they were having a little too much fun with that prank.
Okay, here's why Hannah isn't at all a victim (to me) in this game: 1.) She's trying to sleep with her "friend's" bf. That makes her scummy and the entire point of the trip was to lure Mike, despite knowing he was taken. She's trash for that, even Emily wouldn't do that. 2.) The prank wouldn't have worked if Hannah wasn't absolute garbage. Mike didn't even do much of anything, just said "let's make out" and she was clawing her shirt off. Again, she both knows Mike is dating and he's dating someone she calls her friend. 3.) She takes her sister down with her. Every. Step. Of the way. Beth takes off her coat for Hannah? Hannah happily takes. Doesn't say "no, my dumbass chose this, you stay warm and let's go back." She can't even say she was freezing, because she sprints around right after. She does the horror movie trip, making Beth go back for her. Heck, Beth didn't trip, only Hannah did...but she sure pulled Beth down with her. 4.) She doesn't do anything to get herself out of the mines. Yes, her leg was broken, but she just sat and wrote in her diary about how pitiful she was. Despite signing up for every single thing that happened. Given the choice, I'd hang out with literally any member of Until Dawn before Hannah. She's a selfish bitch with a victim complex.
You know, throughout the entire game we never once see any of the other characters except sam show remorse for what they did. They still played it off as a joke. It wasn’t until Josh did exactly what they did, they felt the pain Hannah felt when Pranked by them.
Actually Ashley does apologize for being apart of the prank when they play with the ghost board. Chris wasn't apart of the prank either he was on conscious next to Josh.
@@jmdevon5117 true but everyone else who part of the prank minus ashley, chris and josh because of what you said, doesn’t seem to show remorse for what they did

I'm so glad that I didn't drop Hannah the first time I played this game. I can't imagine how she must have felt down there knowing that not only her friends betrayed her but her sister as well.
@@moxiemaxie3543 If you think about it logically, yes. But in the moment and especially after the fall, when Hannah was still alive and Beth died anyway, I'm sure it must have felt like betrayal.
It wasn’t a betrayal because both Hannah and her sister Beth die in the beginning it’s her brother Josh who had to live with the guilt about his sisters death the most irony part is actually Emily and Jess when Emily breaks up with her boyfriend he gets with Jess that than brings out Emily bitchy side I killed off Emily in that game soo many times cause she’s a bitch even to her new boyfriend she’s a bitch
The thing is Hannah fell of mountain first grabbing onto Beth and taking her down with her too. Total accidental but when I was watching scene I was like Hannah if we’re being logistical. Technically you dragged your sister down on accident. Ran far into woods at night, I’m sorry I know she was upset and I understand running away. But she really flew. I think it makes more sense for third option where Beth attempts or yells at the person reaching out to grab her hand. To grab her hand/wrist and pull her up so at least attempt to take her sister up with her. Beth did all that to help her sis and I don’t think she would just drop her quick like that. And honestly how does Hannah know Beth’s hand didn’t just slip from carrying her weight vs intentionally dropping her.
@windmaster9 it's a scene I've always imagined but if it eve crossed there mind about doing the scene how would they fit it in? What machanic could of been used to activate the scene?

The one that I feel bad the most is Hannah Girl was just silly and whimsical, she got pranked and due her panic, she indirectly made her sister die and had to bury her. Then, after weeks of waiting for someone to save her, starving, all hurted and bleeding...in order to survive, she had to eat her sister's dead body, only ending with her turning into a horrible monster who does nothing but kill and eat, only for her to die either by her best friend or by her crush.
Crazy how the Wendigo Hannah saves Sam at the end when she is running out of the lodge and pulls back the miner Wendigo, a nice touch as Sam was the only one who looked out for Hannah and wanted what was best for her
I like to think she gave Sam the least painful death out of the rest of them. Mike might only get sliced on the stomach and tossed at the beam but hes left to bleed to death (He burns too if Sam dies). Painful, but quick for Sam
@@pixelatedtoast yesss that is very true, you are probably right I just saw it and then thought maybe she had some good memory of her or something, nice to think sometimes isn’t it 🤣😂
the remake makes ALL of them look like they are in their mid 20's, some of them in their 30's. In the 2015 version the “”low”” quality at least helped to make they seem younger. Now everyone looks like they’re in college, not in high school. Gives the outer banks/euphoria cast vibes where supposedly everybody has 17, but the actors seem ready to retire.

I appreciate that the remake is giving Until Dawn its much needed attention, and I absolutely LOVE the details. Like wendigo Hannah in the lodge scene was so graphic! As for the new beginning scene, I totally think they could've reused dialogue or sound effects so they didn't seem so silent...
Hi seems like you're familiar with the game, i only watch the remake version but never the original one. Do you know why when they're first there there is no wendigo and when they return back after Hannah and Beth death the place is infested with wendigo?
@@jeanneann3545during the game, you find clues that show that there was a mining accident nearly a century before the game started and many miners were trapped underground. They resorted to cannibalism, but they were found soon after by rescue teams. They were taken to the sanitorium on the mountain and started turning into wendigos there. Then the flame thrower guy started working to capture all these wendigos and keep them locked up. So by the time everyone was up on the mountain when Hannah and Beth went missing, a good chunk of the wendigos were already locked up, but some of them were still loose and at least one of them chased Hannah and Beth to the cliff edge. Flamethrower guy scared it off and tried to save them, but they fell. Hannah resorted to cannibalizing Beth nearly a month after they fell down there, and then became the main wendigo we keep seeing (grabbed Jess, took Josh in the end, kept getting super close to Sam during the Don’t Move sections).

@@jeanneann3545 I TOTALLY recommend you watch a playthrough of the original game, I personally have watched Markiplier's playthrough over the years countless times. The wendigo, although not seen, is the thing that's chasing Hannah and Beth leading them to falling off the edge of the cliff, and its why the stranger is there at the edge of the cliff reaching out his hand trying to save them.

@captainomega6315 the real thing to say would be "That's what you get for trying to sleep with other people's boyfriends, Han! Grow up and face your consequences, you're no victim!"
Crazy how all this was Mike Jess and Emily’s fault for playing and abetting the prank then Beth died hannah barely survived ate her sister’s corpse and then everything was set in motion from there.
I also hate the fact they played this prank because Hannah had a crush on Mike while Emily and Mike were dating. Then the next year freaking Jess and Mike are dating !! LIKE WHAT ?!
@Vipershadow1 its all Hannah's fault. If she hadn't tried to sleep with her friend's boyfriend, she'd not have had her little hissy fit when caught being a backstabbing ho. Then poor Beth, the only real victim of the evening, wouldn't have died trying to save her slut of a sister. Hannah deserved a backhand and no friends after the bullshit she did.

Does anyone else find it odd that noone who gets killed by a wendigo in this game gets eaten by one? Whenever one kills one of the characters, they just leave their bodies to rot, which is weird given that wendigos are supposed to have an insatiable hunger that they're always trying to satisfy
Because the main Wendigo is Hannah. She has retained some of her memory, which is why: 1. She violently kills the other characters instead of eating them. Many of the ways she kills indicate an emotional drive for the kill. She wants revenge as she recognizes them. 2. She spares Josh. He had nothing to do with the “prank”. She even provides the flesh he needs to eat to turn and in the classic ending, he does in fact go Wendigo. 3. The miners want to eat them, and act more like predators. Hannah even kills some of the miner Wendigos. She isn’t hungry for meat, she hungry for revenge.
@@muhammedbadjie1960 its most likely a generalization of anger from hannahs POV, yes sam, chris and josh had nothing to do with the prank but to be left alone in the dark mines ALONE - Hannah could've come to the assumption that they all just gave up on finding her or didn't want to find her (an irrational stance given hannahs situation).
now that Until Dawn is a hot topic again, I wanna talk on two things I've had in my mind about the game 1. I don't feel that bad for Hannah. Obviously I feel bad that she and Beth fell and she had to eat Beth to survive and then turned into a wendigo. But in regards with the prank, I don't feel that bad. Hannah was not some innocent girl who got picked on. She got a note from her crush who HAS A GIRLFRIEND, and instead of confronting the guy or telling his girlfriend she decides to go along with it. Does that make everyone else innocent? No, what they did was still mean. Did Hannah deserve what happened to her? Also no. But I'm just saying Hannah was not a sweet little victim of bullying, she was a home wrecker. Also why is her first instinct to run outside during a snowstorm, like girl you could've hidden in one of the 17 rooms in your large ass cabin and cried under the covers. 2. The number one thing I hate THE MOST in Until Dawn is who Josh decides to torture the most as The Psycho. He tortures Sam, Chris, and Ashley almost exclusively but they are the three that did the least. Jess and Emily were the masterminds. Mike was essential to the prank since he had to seduce Hannah. And Matt was filming everything. Ashley was a part of it, yes, but she did the least of all of them. Sam was AGAINST the prank and tried to stop it. And Chris was literally passed out, he couldn't have joined even if he wanted to. So why were they the only ones who were tortured by Josh/Psycho? Everyone else was unharmed by Josh and only had to deal with the wendigo despite them being the worst to Hannah during the prank.
im pretty sure they addressed josh hurting the most innocent people/people he's closest too (chris and sam) the analyst refers to this and says that he's hurting the people that care about him - I cant remember the rest but he probably hurt them just so he could feel like he was guilty of something? Josh probably wanted to justify the pain and sorrow he felt from Hannah and Beth's deaths' by hurting other people he cherished just so he could feel like he was deserving of that pain from the loss of his sisters. Also he's schizophrenic so that also could be a factor in why he hurt the people he loved.
i agree with hannah part and i want to more on to it. In the game you can found she take a love test and fail with mike and test tould him to do a tattoo and run from him so he can come and save her if she didnt take test serious instead of running away she would just talk to beth or sam or just cry in the bathroom but since she take a stupid test so serious she indirectly killed beth
1. I 100% agree 2. From what I understand, he intended to film Mike and Jessica in the cabin (as a revenge porn video). And he probable had plans for Emily and Matt too, but they left the house to get the backpack and never came back. That’s just my theory
@@lorenasilva6842I don't agree with 1 cause I've seen that shit happen in high school personally too and I agree with 2 he probably did have plans but everyone went their way so he most likely just roamed around till he found someone from the group

Yeah I get why they did it but the let go option would technically still be saved since Hannah broke her leg the fall wouldn't kill Beth right away though probably knock her unconscious or knock the wind out of her depending on the location plus given where they fell and if they improvised I would say maybe a week later they would probably give up trying to get help and find a way back themselves but just my take story already written lol
@@windmaster9well we didn’t see the way hannah fell but that blow to beth’s back, especially from the distance she fell, most definitely broke her spine, so it makes sense that she died. @@gwlg05Hannah and Beth really had a lot of bad luck not to be able to get out of the mines because there were wendigos there, but then things went very badly for them, even more so considering that the other characters walk through the mines so easily (including Emily with her ankle. broken) and with the flamethrower guy around it really seemed like they had a relatively high chance of surviving
They could never quite replicate the success from this first game Idk what exactly made it so much better The characters have shitty personalities, but they're also pretty charismatic, take Mike for example. He was pretty involved in the prank, but he also was extremely heroic with Jess Emily was insufferable in every sense, but she was smart and played an important role in collecting clues She wasn't treated just as a dumb bitchy whiner and Mike wasn't 100% a good guy To me that's the main thing they couldn't replicate, bc in most of the other games the people were just straight up assholes Also I feel like the blend of fiction and reality elements was pretty good
Emily was hateful and I disliked her but she was also badass and along with Chris she had the best survival instinct in the game, I mean if she had fallen instead of Hannah she would surely have survived (nah but maybe) that's what I always had a doubt about Where did Hannah fall because Beth's head and grave and Hannah's diary are in different places but the two places seem to be relatively easy to escape, I know that Hannah had a broken leg but Emily had the Broken ankle also, they also spend 5 minutes in the mines before encountering a type of flamethrower and after 10 minutes they left the mines and simply had to go to the cabin, I mean, Hannah was just very unlucky not to be able to get out but Well I know in case I already had it just by getting there.
and the characters who don't feel bad don't really know it wasn't their fault at all but they should have felt more sorry for the horrible fate that hannah and her sister suffered (although when they found out about it they didn't have time to reflect because their lives was in play at that point, but also before going to the cabin for the second time it was already obvious that both of them had died) but well, they are teenagers. Hannah acted impulsively when she left as well, but the attitude of Hannah and the group of friends changed. understands knowing that they are teenagers At that age we do stupid things for anything without wanting to face their consequences. Furthermore, in the face of a tragedy like Hannah, it is normal that you only want to victimize yourself even though you are involved in it and know that deep down you are partly to blame, as happens with Jimmy in BCS his character has always felt regretful but he never admits it because he doesn't want to hurt himself further. but well, let's hope that if canonically everyone lives they will have time to seriously reflect on it because well they almost died in a horrible way because of it......
It still is a great game the problem is they chose to do a spin off then a prequel no dlc so we still get the cliffhanger ending with wendigo Josh yes the remake brought attention back to it but it might get the dead space treatment make a successful remake then go no where with it besides crossovers
@reDdoT_D347H disagree. They didn't kill Hannah. Hannah killed herself. She chose to pursue her friend's boyfriend, chose to run into a snowstorm without a jacket, chose not to go back before things got bad. The prank never could have happened if Hannah was just...not a creep towards Mike. Turn Hannah into Hank and Mike into Michelle and no one would call her obsession romantic. The prank sucked, oc, but wouldn't have worked if Hannah hadn't tried sleeping with a taken guy. A decent person would have never fallen for that and her anger was misplaced.

The better question, is why the Wendigo Hunter who KNEW the girls fell in that area had NEVER REPORTED THEIR FALL? Hannah could have been saved if that old man actually reported the girls fall. Hannah becoming a wendigo could have all been avoided.
I haven't played the remake of Until Dawn yet, but I played the original game. But even then, I felt so sorry for Hannah and her siblings after all that happened to not only her and Beth in the prologue, but Josh as well who went crazy thinking that his friends killed his sisters and betrayed them with a cruel prank on them in a VERY expensive lodge in the Blackwood Mountains, and he became the Psycho because of Hannah and Beth's presumed deaths. I don't know why I saved everyone else at the end of this game. They all deserved to die by the Wendigo who WAS Hannah as revenge for betraying her in the prologue, except Josh who is Hannah's brother even as a Wendigo.
Nah, Hannah made her choices. She could have just...not tried to sleep with her friend's boyfriend? Or not had a hissy fit when the others (rightfully) laughed at how desperate she was to sleep with her friend's boyfriend. She made dumb choice after dumb choice, and she got her karma. I wouldn't wish what happened to her on anyone, but I also wouldn't want someone like Hannah around me or anyone I cared about. She's by far the most self centered, awful character and this is in a game where Emily and Jessica exist.
It’s interesting we see that Hannah is still capable of complex human thought and feeling. She spared Mike and Josh multiple times. In fact the scene where she kills Josh is when he escaped her lair and was surrounded by other people. Only when Josh calls out her name does she spare him and take him back to her lair. This tells me her eyesight and hunger may have blinded her to his identity. Other events include her mimicking Jessica’s voice, throwing a cellphone through the cabin window and saving Sam’s butt during the explosion. The wendigo may have a deep hold on its host but that doesn’t mean they still aren’t alive in those thin hungry bodies.
@LookieLookieLookie she just tried to sleep with Emily's boyfriend. She was avoiding her (much deserved) backhand. The only victim that night was Beth.
She’s lived on that mountain her entire life. She’s been in and out of those forests her entire life. She was just sexually humiliated, not to mention probably intoxicated and made a naive choice in the moment as a teenager. We know of hardly anyone else who lives on the mountain, it’s not densely populated with people who could have potentially harmed her, and she had no idea as to the existence of the wendigos

In my opinion Jess seems even worse for the prank since she ends up dating Mike. It’s clear this wasn’t about Emily at all but Jess couldn’t take her feelings out on Emily so she did it to Hannah.
Jess was diabolical for coming up to that mountain and making out with Mike on that couch in front of Josh knowing damn well that she indirectly caused his sisters death for breaking girl code only to do her bestfriend worse
@williamgelfand644 No, Sam also played a part in the prank. She called Hannah into the room. The only difference compared to the others was that she felt bad for pranking Hannah and knew it wasn't right before they did it.
@@siegfriedo yes, I can lol. Doesn’t matter if she has a crush on Mike. Emily and Hannah were friends, Hannah knew they were together. You don’t do that to a friend whether you like him or not.
You think the reason that Hannah is more powerful than the other wendigo is because she ate her sister? The miners just ate other coworkers that they probably didn't know or were related too, which gave them the base curse while Hannah got the turbo curse.
Hannah and Beth were victims of a cruel, heartless prank orchestrated by their so-called "friends." The prank was the catalyst for the tragic chain of events that followed. It was their so-called friends who humiliated Hannah, pushing her to run out into the storm in the first place. Don’t forget: these were people they trusted. People they considered friends, some of whom even pretended to care about them. But no one took a moment to consider the emotional toll of their actions. Humiliation isn’t just a slap in the face; it's devastating to a person’s sense of self-worth, and when pushed to the brink, anyone might act in ways they normally wouldn’t. Blaming Hannah and Beth for running into the storm is victim-blaming in its purest form. How could they know that those who were supposed to have their backs would leave them to fend for themselves? If they hadn’t been humiliated, if they hadn’t been made the target of that sick prank, there’s a very real chance that they wouldn’t have even been out in the storm in the first place. They didn’t deserve to be made into a joke for the sake of others' amusement. No one ever considers how emotionally devastating it is to be abandoned like that by people you thought were your friends. Then, there’s the absolute absurdity of claiming no one else is at fault. The group’s collective failure to help or take responsibility for what happened is what set everything in motion. Instead of stepping up, the others let the situation unfold. And worse, they didn’t even try to find out what happened to Hannah and Beth. They carried on with their lives, forgetting about them, only to be shocked later when things went horribly wrong. They played their part in the tragedy too. Everyone else was just as responsible for leaving Hannah and Beth in that position to begin with. And let’s not forget about the Wendigo curse. It’s not just that the prank triggered a moment of emotional chaos.Hannah’s transformation into a Wendigo is the result of a horrible curse that twisted her and turned her into a monster. The death that followed wasn’t just a consequence of running out into the storm; it was part of a series of events, largely beyond their control. The Wendigo is a supernatural force, and turning Hannah into a monster was as much a result of the curse as it was of any human action. So, placing the blame entirely on her and her sister’s actions, rather than acknowledging the supernatural forces at play, is just naive. You’re forgetting something critical here: Everyone involved in the prank, from Josh to Mike and everyone in between, shares some degree of responsibility. They participated in the cruelty. They made a series of decisions that led to tragedy. The friends were complicit in setting up the conditions that led to this disaster-and let’s be clear: abandoning your friends, after publicly humiliating them, is not something anyone should ever condone. So, while it’s easy to throw blame at the people who got caught in the storm, it’s far more complicated than that. Blaming them entirely is a cheap cop-out from confronting the bigger issue here: the actions of their so-called friends. No one gets to play the “they’re responsible for everything” card when it was a culmination of bad decisions from multiple parties, including the people who were supposed to be their friends. It was a failure of friendship, trust, and decency-one that ultimately led to a tragic and senseless end. Don’t minimize it by oversimplifying the entire situation and ignoring the context. That’s a dangerous and irresponsible way of viewing the events that unfolded.
So true. People are literally victim blaming Hannah as she is not innocent and all that. Honestly, Hannah is an extremely naive girl (as her sister Beth said even herself). Hannah types of girls do exists and always makes the wrong decision. They follow their hearts blindly and results in situations like ending up in that prank. I would 💯 say that, the fault is at the"so called friends".
A few of the hunger totems in the remake were a little confusing to me but the first one is an addition that kinda chills me and I love this game even more for that
And for anyone who doesn't read the long text then all I can say is that it's so much easier to stick to your oversimplified, lazy opinion than engage with actual nuance. Dismissing a detailed explanation with 'it was their fault' just proves you have no interest in understanding the context or the shared responsibility of everyone involved. Hannah and Beth didn’t run into the storm for fun; they were pushed there by the cruelty of their so-called friends. Blaming them is victim-blaming 101, and your refusal to even acknowledge the role others played shows you’re more comfortable with shallow takes than meaningful discussion. If you won’t read or engage, don’t expect to be taken seriously."
Exactly 💯. And everyone saying it's Hannah's fault because why would she hook up with her friend's boyfriend. This is victim blaming to another level. Hannah is a socially awkward, naive girl and not as popular as Jess, Emily and Mike. Hannah has a record of acting out of impulses blindly which was confirmed by her sister Beth. Girls like Hannah are tend to act without thinking. They follow their hearts blindly and makes wrong decisions. And because of their wrong decisions, they end up in situations like that heinous prank. Putting all the blame on Hannah and Beth is in my opinion more 'naive-er' than Hannah. The friends (except Sam, Chris and Josh) were all responsible for what they had done.
The same way it made no sense for Emily to survive her fall after hanging onto that zipline and Jessica shouldn’t have survived falling that far on her back on a damn elevator 😭😭
Okay buy couldn't the torch guy have told anyone about where the sisters fell??? Even if he thought they died, people would have got their bodies at least
Other than the fact that he wasn't even supposed to be there, he was already known in the area because he had warned the Washingtons about building their lodge on the mountain to the point where there was an article written in the newspaper about him. Now, imagine that the guy who is known as an insane bum is giving pointers to the police about where the bodies of two of the children of the family he had told not to build a lodge on "his" mountain are. He would have surely been made the number one suspect in a murder case.
Ok I’m sorry I feel like everyone is toxic to everyone, lemme get this straight Emily and mike we’re dating at the beginning they were on and off and toxic, now I don’t remember what the note that mike (and the others) wrote to Hannah about how he had feelings for her, but Hannah was gonna do stuff with the guy she loved even though Emily dated or was dating…now the prank was fucked especially since the Washington’s (Beth, Hannah, josh) invited them there to stay in the cabin and have fun and they decide to do this prank and humiliate her, Chris, Sam, Beth, and Josh are innocent on the prank…a year later Jess and mike are dating like girl code don’t date your best friend’s ex not even hook up, I feel like so many people are in the wrong I think this all is a toxic circle well except for Sam and maybe Chris…that’s high school for you…
Things that kinda suck that we wish was added Matt and Jessica being at the Lodge during the final showdown The flare gun never being a final last chance for everyone in the Lodge Emily being the one to shoot the wendigo to save sam if you fail a standing still or save herself if you don't intervene Letting Hannah go ends up saving beth only for us to see a wendigo go for the kill in their eyes and launching her corspe to where hannah is. A possible matt getting back to the lodge with Emily meeting in the tunnel being a duo or both of the meeting back at just the lodge Making matt watch mike kill Emily or side with killing Emily Ashley with the scissors keeping them hidden and not attacking josh to then cut the rope and restraints Giving Ashley the gun to let her shoot herself or actually not get traumatized by chris shooting her. Adding a choice to ask mike to watch the door and not Ashley Having mike with the machete to save himself at the lodge If mike find more clues he'll be less likely to want to shoot emily and not suggest it at all thus giving mike another chance to survive if emily still has the flare gun and didn't use it to protect herself, or if she jumped to the side and never got a clear shot. Matt saving the flare gun to save Jessica from the wendigo.
tbh your beth point wouldn't really make sense because the hunter had either 1) killed the monster by that point (remembering that the others were still stuck in the mines), or 2) would be killed along with beth, which would be detrimental to the others' future in the following game/present time)
Dude, that's his sisters, so his feelings are heightened and filled with rage, guilt, and betrayal. What do you expect him to do, be calm after they died?!
Dude one of the therapy sessions shows the Dr Hill in his head accusing him of letting his sisters die and being selfish. He clearly blames himself for not being able to save them because he was passed out drunk and unable to do anything
Josh has every right to be pissed and he shouldn't be blaming himself because he was passed out drunk. What Josh didn't expect was his so-called friends pulling a prank. What made it piss poor timing was pulling a fucking prank in the middle of nowhere.
Didnt have as severe of a prank like that pulled on me.but i remember my birthday i had back in 4th grade. I recently switched from public school to a private Catholic school. The class size was small of about 50 kids per year. Every student grew up together basically and came from a nice income household. My parents were spending a ton of money to send us to Catholic school. It was barely achievable and parents fought often about finances. So, after being at the new school for a few months, i invited all the girls un ny class over for a birthday party. It was a big slumber party in the attic and we all had sleeping bags. When all the girls got settled, one of the most popular girls tells me to stand up then sit down fast. I stood up, listening to her orders like the autistic child i was/is. When i started to bend my knees, she proceeded to pants me infront of everyone even after i said to stop, they pulled it down again. I was humiliated and distraught. I crawled into my sleeping bag and cried. While i cried, all the girls kept laughing and returned to talking. None of them apologized or comforted me. Granted, all of our sleeping bags were in rows so they were literally next to me. Catholic school was a horrible time 😂😂
From the very start of the game when i first watched it, i immediately thought WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?? They went to these girl's home, who generously invited them, tricked the girl by the guy she liked, didn't even try to find her and her sister when they were lost, showed no remorse for what happened. And more importantly, that prank wasn't a prank it was a fucking crime! You can't record someone who don't know they are being recorded especially when they want to get intimate. Wtf was the joke? Haha you thought this guy loved you and you almost sex with himmmm but he actually tricked you say hi to the camera hahaha- what is wrong with these people??? Only person i ever felt bad for was Sam. All the others could have been taken by hannah wendigo for all i care
i wish they hadnt added Beth's head because it doesnt make sense that her head is well preserved but her body is just bones. unless Hannah ate everything
I know a lot of people think Josh is weird and strange especially fucked up for doing this but imagine being a brother to two sisters who were left alone with you but you just couldn’t take care off them!! And under your watch they died because your stupid ass friends played a “prank” umm right yeah if anyone did this to my sister or my brothers I’d be fuming as well and I’d want revenge to I just feel soo sorry for Josh. As an older brother he’s the one taking responsibility for his sisters death. The most irony part to all this is how Jess and Emily were looking out for one another by playing this said prank but you will see that years later Emily breaks up with her boyfriend and Jess has him than a bitch fight breaks out where’s the “I’m just looking out for my girl” thing there the nerve and irony they have
This message is for everyone who was saying that beth and hannah were responsible for there deaths-Responsible for their own deaths? That's a stretch and honestly dismissive of the entire situation. Hannah was humiliated and lured out into the woods by people she trusted-how is that not a factor? And Beth was trying to save her sister. Blaming them entirely ignores the role of the so-called 'friends' who set the whole thing in motion. Maybe rewatch the story and pay closer attention before throwing out oversimplified takes
It makes no sense how she wasn’t found. No one bothered going to look for her, on her broken leg, in an area that was clearly accessible as seen by characters stumbling into them. Trained rescuers couldn’t find any evidence or sign? Wasn’t it like two weeks before she related to cannibalism? Wasn’t this her family’s land at the time so you would think she was familiar with it? The more you think about it the worse it gets narratively.
I had no clue Josh's hallucination was singing Frère Jack in the english dub too! Is it a known luluby in English or does this mean that the Washingtons have some french heritage?
How different it would have gone if they had gone to look for them..the wendigo more than likely wouldn’t have targeted them being in such a big group especially with the hunter out there..and they could have made up for the prank they played..
Imo they have NOTHING to make up for. Hannah was basically called out in 4k for trying to sleep with her friend's boyfriend. She was trying to betray her friend and got betrayed. No pity. The only victim was Beth, and she died on impact. Hannah didn't deserve what happened per say, but she literally made every choice to lead to it, including dragging Beth down with her.
So how it really happened if u payed any lick of attention bc I've beaten this game 3 times so i know what I'm talking about when i say that Hannah and Beth were not responsible for there deaths bc Hannah was humiliated in one of the cruelest ways possible by her so-called 'friends.' That prank caused her to run off into the woods in a state of emotional distress. Beth, being the loving sister she was, went after her to help. The real blame lies with the group who set Hannah up-they created the chain of events that led to both sisters' deaths. Trying to pin it solely on Hannah and Beth is just ignoring the facts of the story. Maybe next time, try actually understanding the context before making a hollow argument
Omg I just realized they did this horrible cruel prank to hanna when she (and her siblings) are the ones who invited all of them to this VERY expensive family mansion 💀💀💀 the NERVE
Ikr, they should have run away, not her, if I were her I would have kicked them all out

So, It was like revenge for Hannah for turning to Wendigo (Although she did that because she became a cannibal. Not for revenge)

And it ends with her flipping the switch

Okay, here's why Hannah isn't at all a victim (to me) in this game:
1.) She's trying to sleep with her "friend's" bf.

It's not betrayal, it's was a greater chance at living
@@moxiemaxie3543I would tell my sister to try to climb up to grab that guys hand. I just....would either save her or we both go.
I think it could have been really cool to see some cuts of Hannah going insane when finding her diary but I think the remake is really cool.
Yeah like short cutscenes but they probably blurr out or shadow out her eating Beth and finish it with her fully transformed hearing the group arrive

Then, after weeks of waiting for someone to save her, starving, all hurted and bleeding...in order to survive, she had to eat her sister's dead body, only ending with her turning into a horrible monster who does nothing but kill and eat, only for her to die either by her best friend or by her crush.
Crazy how the Wendigo Hannah saves Sam at the end when she is running out of the lodge and pulls back the miner Wendigo, a nice touch as Sam was the only one who looked out for Hannah and wanted what was best for her
Wendigo Hannah kills Sam if she moves at the end though so...
I like to think she gave Sam the least painful death out of the rest of them. Mike might only get sliced on the stomach and tossed at the beam but hes left to bleed to death (He burns too if Sam dies). Painful, but quick for Sam

Because the main Wendigo is Hannah. She has retained some of her memory, which is why:

1. I 100% agree
2. From what I understand, he intended to film Mike and Jessica in the cabin (as a revenge porn video). And he probable had plans for Emily and Matt too, but they left the house to get the backpack and never came back. That’s just my theory
Maybe he WAS planning to prank the others but they all got separated.
@@lorenasilva6842I don't agree with 1 cause I've seen that shit happen in high school personally too and I agree with 2 he probably did have plans but everyone went their way so he most likely just roamed around till he found someone from the group
I always wished you could save at least one of them by slowing Beth down but they die anyway and hannah…well the fact that you can’t do anything to undo the curse unlike in the quarry is making me so mad😭But it also makes the story as great as it is so I won‘t complain.
That’s why it’s safe to assume that hannah, while definitely took on some injuries, didn’t hit the rocks in any fatal areas unlike her sister, which is why she lived.
They could never quite replicate the success from this first game
Idk what exactly made it so much better
The characters have shitty personalities, but they're also pretty charismatic, take Mike for example.
He was pretty involved in the prank, but he also was extremely heroic with Jess
Emily was insufferable in every sense, but she was smart and played an important role in collecting clues
She wasn't treated just as a dumb bitchy whiner and Mike wasn't 100% a good guy
To me that's the main thing they couldn't replicate, bc in most of the other games the people were just straight up assholes
Also I feel like the blend of fiction and reality elements was pretty good
Emily was hateful and I disliked her but she was also badass and along with Chris she had the best survival instinct in the game, I mean if she had fallen instead of Hannah she would surely have survived (nah but maybe) that's what I always had a doubt about Where did Hannah fall because Beth's head and grave and Hannah's diary are in different places but the two places seem to be relatively easy to escape, I know that Hannah had a broken leg but Emily had the Broken ankle also, they also spend 5 minutes in the mines before encountering a type of flamethrower and after 10 minutes they left the mines and simply had to go to the cabin, I mean, Hannah was just very unlucky not to be able to get out but Well I know in case I already had it just by getting there.
and the characters who don't feel bad don't really know it wasn't their fault at all but they should have felt more sorry for the horrible fate that hannah and her sister suffered (although when they found out about it they didn't have time to reflect because their lives was in play at that point, but also before going to the cabin for the second time it was already obvious that both of them had died) but well, they are teenagers.
They should have kept the old wendigo screams
hannah crazy as hell for running out there.
I'm glad they gave Josh a new ending
Even if some people may not like the remake I still think it’s great the game gets another round of attention
It still is a great game the problem is they chose to do a spin off then a prequel no dlc so we still get the cliffhanger ending with wendigo Josh yes the remake brought attention back to it but it might get the dead space treatment make a successful remake then go no where with it besides crossovers
One thing I'm sure of, Only 4 characters should've survived this. The rest are as good as dead meat.
Why would they choose to have no dialogue or music in the new part? It just makes it feel so unfinished and out of place.
There is music in the new intro. I think there isn't here, because copy right on RUclips is a very ficil thing.
@@Raiders1917 ooooh okay I hope that’s the case. Every video I’ve seen there’s no music or dialogue so I assumed it was either a strange artistic decision or they couldn’t get the rights to put the music they wanted in the game 🥲

Right?
10 years later and i gotta say.. this game has some IMPRESSIVE voice acting
They made Mike say the same thing he says to Jess in the cabin. That’s some twisted stuff.
So couldn’t Hannah just run into a different room? Look how big the place is 🫠
She is kinda dumbdumb... No wonder they managed to prank her that easily...
she didn’t want to be ANYWHERE near them
@LookieLookieLookie she just tried to sleep with Emily's boyfriend. She was avoiding her (much deserved) backhand. The only victim that night was Beth.
@@jariahmoore7110 So going out in the cold dark forest with no jacket and phone was the better option?
She’s lived on that mountain her entire life. She’s been in and out of those forests her entire life. She was just sexually humiliated, not to mention probably intoxicated and made a naive choice in the moment as a teenager. We know of hardly anyone else who lives on the mountain, it’s not densely populated with people who could have potentially harmed her, and she had no idea as to the existence of the wendigos
They really did Josh dirty. 😢
I don't get it. If Hannah survived the fall, then why were her eyes wide open as if she were dead?
To make the player think she is in fact dead, so when the player gets to the Wendigo part of the story it’s more of a surprise. Unless the player figures it out beforehand by following the clues.

to be fair jess was a really really bad person for setting up this whole prank but at the same time hannah was friends with emily and she knew emily and mike are dating so she couldve just been like "mike you have a girlfriend im not doing this"
In my opinion Jess seems even worse for the prank since she ends up dating Mike.

Why Mike looking like a Mafia boss on that chair lmao.

Those jerks deserved what they got. This is not how you treat a friend in an emotionally very vulnerable state.
Besides Sam and Chris, yeah.
@williamgelfand644 No, Sam also played a part in the prank. She called Hannah into the room. The only difference compared to the others was that she felt bad for pranking Hannah and knew it wasn't right before they did it.
To be fair tho Hannah was making moves on Mike, who is Emily’s boyfriend. Hannah wasn’t the best friend herself.
@@skylergrace5068 Good point, but she had a huge crush on Mike... Can you blame her?
@@siegfriedo yes, I can lol. Doesn’t matter if she has a crush on Mike. Emily and Hannah were friends, Hannah knew they were together. You don’t do that to a friend whether you like him or not.
17:55 am I the only one that said “ DAYMN “ When Hannah slammed the wendigo into the stairs?
3:42 10/10 Rated Dialogue
Well your question has a similar answer to why 6 was afraid of 7. Here’s a hint Hannah is 7, and Beth is 9.
i always hope the scene will change and hannah won't run away :(
u didnt need to rush through the pages of Hannahs diary in the mines i was trying to read them 😭
A few of the hunger totems in the remake were a little confusing to me but the first one is an addition that kinda chills me and I love this game even more for that
And they all had the audacity to get mad at him. They deserved far worse than the slap on the wrist he gave them.
I still can’t understand how the hell did Hannah survive that fall
She probably didnt break her back like beth did, the snow for one is a pretty good pillow during a fall
The same way it made no sense for Emily to survive her fall after hanging onto that zipline and Jessica shouldn’t have survived falling that far on her back on a damn elevator 😭😭

most important is the scene have shown their body with eyes wide open
it doesn't look alive to me anyway
Lucky fall
Okay buy couldn't the torch guy have told anyone about where the sisters fell??? Even if he thought they died, people would have got their bodies at least
he wasn’t supposed to be there anyway also there’s no way he could’ve explained it
Other than the fact that he wasn't even supposed to be there, he was already known in the area because he had warned the Washingtons about building their lodge on the mountain to the point where there was an article written in the newspaper about him. Now, imagine that the guy who is known as an insane bum is giving pointers to the police about where the bodies of two of the children of the family he had told not to build a lodge on "his" mountain are. He would have surely been made the number one suspect in a murder case.

Ok I’m sorry I feel like everyone is toxic to everyone, lemme get this straight Emily and mike we’re dating at the beginning they were on and off and toxic, now I don’t remember what the note that mike (and the others) wrote to Hannah about how he had feelings for her, but Hannah was gonna do stuff with the guy she loved even though Emily dated or was dating…now the prank was fucked especially since the Washington’s (Beth, Hannah, josh) invited them there to stay in the cabin and have fun and they decide to do this prank and humiliate her, Chris, Sam, Beth, and Josh are innocent on the prank…a year later Jess and mike are dating like girl code don’t date your best friend’s ex not even hook up, I feel like so many people are in the wrong I think this all is a toxic circle well except for Sam and maybe Chris…that’s high school for you…
As others have said, the most unbelievable thing about this fantasy monster story is that the group would be friends with Sam and vice versa
Things that kinda suck that we wish was added
Matt and Jessica being at the Lodge during the final showdown
The flare gun never being a final last chance for everyone in the Lodge
Emily being the one to shoot the wendigo to save sam if you fail a standing still or save herself if you don't intervene
Letting Hannah go ends up saving beth only for us to see a wendigo go for the kill in their eyes and launching her corspe to where hannah is.
A possible matt getting back to the lodge with Emily meeting in the tunnel being a duo or both of the meeting back at just the lodge
Making matt watch mike kill Emily or side with killing Emily
Ashley with the scissors keeping them hidden and not attacking josh to then cut the rope and restraints
Giving Ashley the gun to let her shoot herself or actually not get traumatized by chris shooting her.
Adding a choice to ask mike to watch the door and not Ashley
Having mike with the machete to save himself at the lodge
If mike find more clues he'll be less likely to want to shoot emily and not suggest it at all thus giving mike another chance to survive if emily still has the flare gun and didn't use it to protect herself, or if she jumped to the side and never got a clear shot.

This message is for everyone who was saying that beth and hannah were responsible for there deaths-Responsible for their own deaths? That's a stretch and honestly dismissive of the entire situation. Hannah was humiliated and lured out into the woods by people she trusted-how is that not a factor? And Beth was trying to save her sister. Blaming them entirely ignores the role of the so-called 'friends' who set the whole thing in motion. Maybe rewatch the story and pay closer attention before throwing out oversimplified takes
They didn't deserve this... this is too cruel ... always makes me sad... I love this game sm
“I swear I tried to find you” 😢😢😢
I’m confused, why was Josh’s last resort cannibalism? And why didn’t Wendigo Hannah eat him?
It makes no sense how she wasn’t found. No one bothered going to look for her, on her broken leg, in an area that was clearly accessible as seen by characters stumbling into them. Trained rescuers couldn’t find any evidence or sign? Wasn’t it like two weeks before she related to cannibalism? Wasn’t this her family’s land at the time so you would think she was familiar with it? The more you think about it the worse it gets narratively.
Yea there were a ton of plot holes
I had no clue Josh's hallucination was singing Frère Jack in the english dub too!
Is it a known luluby in English or does this mean that the Washingtons have some french heritage?
It’s pretty known in English.
