@Ocean4president in the original game, it sounds like it was a group prank orchestrated by everyone and there’s no indication anyone lead it in particular, BUT the remake tells us more, emily making her way around the room, directions and commands, pushing ashley and matt in the closet, sitting mike down in a chair, I just feel like Jessica was like everyone else, agreeing cause she found it funny, but everyone’s smiles seemed to fade immediately in the remake, so. That's cool. The only disappointment, as before, is that Matt and Jess don't get more screen time, I feel like I could have had a whole section with Emily and them two in the mines at some point, but they disappear for hours lol.
Idk about Matt but I remember for Jessica that she was always supposed to be the first one to die and be unsavable and is probably the reason why she doesn’t have much screen time
The fact that Emily still roasts Mike about the gun thing even when he goes out blowing up the lodge is hilarious. 😂 Dude blew himself up and saved her life but she’s still holding that grudge
It’s more than a grudge. She was very clearly hurt and traumatized by that event. He was supposed to be her friend and her ex and he tried to MURDER her. And it’s crazy that so many people has a problem with Emily for this. When does it make you wrong for reporting a crime that has been committed against you? Mike committed a CRIME and she is reporting that CRIME! I wish someone would hold a gun to my face. On me I’m going to the cops 😂. Ain’t no way
@@thatoneguy1232 As much as I can agree with this, you also have to understand Mike in the situation. He doesn't understand much about Wendigos, he is freaked out and panicked, Ashley is also panicking and pacing, creating more tension, it was Ash that said "If it bites you you'll turn into one" Mike thought he was eliminating a threat, he was scared for their safety, none of them really knew how it worked. Even Sam asks "IS that how it worked?" The circumstances weren't normal and I prob wouldn've expected her to turn too if I was in that situation. But no I can't blame Emily for resenting him for that. However I would also argue she isn't reporting a crime, but throwing him under the bus. She does this to Matt as well. As Matt if you choose to save her at the tower no matter what, you can still get the ending where she blames him. It's like nothing is ever her fault which works for her character.
@ exactly he doesn’t know anything and yet he was quick to jump to MURDER. Even though the stranger had said that cannibalism is how one turns. Mike and Ashley make up wendigo rules and double and triple down on what is a baseless assumption and traumatizes or outright murders one of their friends over it. And the worst part is that it’s Mike’s own violent escalation of the situation that makes things go from bad to worse. It’s Mike that gives no one time to breath and think about their situation. Sam tries to calm him down but fails, Emily instead is arguing for her life, Ashley won’t shut up, and Chris chimes in once appearing in favor of kicking her out but is otherwise out of it. The ONLY reason Sam asks how it works is because THAT IS WHAT SPREADING MISINFORMATION DOES! Before that Sam doesn’t agree. She straight up tells Mike that it’s ridiculous. It’s only after Ashley is yelling about how that’s how it works that Sam becomes confused and even then she still behaves reasonably saying “maybe it’s just a bite”. He’s the one to first tell Emily to practically march to her death and very quickly after threatens her with the gun. She’s reporting a violent crime that was committed against her. Notice that she doesn’t report Ashley because she didn’t do anything illegal to Emily. But Mike did. She can tell police what he did and something will happen. She also reports Matt if he left her to die on the tower. And it’s 100% untrue that she does this no matter what. If he attempted to save her dialogue is extremely different. If he died she cries over what she rightly assumes is his death and regrets her behavior, questioning if she could have somehow saved him. If he lived, then she asks about his wellbeing. She acknowledges that she wasn’t the best but defiantly declares how devoted she is to him and wonders if he knows how devoted she is.
@@thatoneguy1232 I disagree... A lot... But ykw I won't argue with it because it's obvious we won't be able to see eye to eye on it. Ashley misunderstood due to her stress in the moment but hey you do you. Have a good day. 😁
@@thatoneguy1232 Highly disagree with a lot of that. Especially when you said Mike and Ash make up their own rules, Ashley did because she was stressed and misunderstood what the stranger meant. They prob thought it worked like a zombie bite infection because they never heard of Wendigos before. I'd might've done the same in Mike's situation, I don't blame him at all for thinking she'd turn. A lot of people who played it also questioned it, but hey, you know what. It's obvious we won't see eye to eye on this and I can't convince you to feel differently so have a good day man! 😊 Agree to disagree?
One thing i hoped for the remake was for them adding another segment with Matt and Jess. Make the mine section longer aswell as making them run towards the House. With them staying outside as they see the Wendigos inside.
Do you think Mike just had a moment of existential crisis, and maybe it lead to him feeling like he was being controlled by some outside force... so not being able to work out those movements left him dumbfounded and having nothing left to say but "i dont know!" 🤔😂
20:55 That technically isn’t true, there is an order to which the final character in the list says to the reporters “there’s something in the mines” the order goes from Sam, Mike, Jess, Matt, Emily, Ashley, and Chris. If Sam is alive she’s always the one who says the final line. If Chris is the sole survivor it’s the only time he will ever talk about the mines. And for the dialogue you talked about, Chris and Ashley could be alive but since Emily is ahead of them on the list she’ll have the final line. If Matt was still alive as an example he would have the final line
i’ve always found this weird, i feel like emily’s final line is the best out of them all as she has actually seen the most. i guess the game sees sam as the actual final girl, especially now with the post credit scene
Emily has the best “in the mines” interview. It’s the most informative, one of the best acted, and most interesting one. I understand Sam being ahead of everyone. Hers is very good. Very mysterious and chilling and she is the final girl. But Emily should at least have gone second. Mike’s is terrible. He’s just like “yea it got him so I ran. No sense in both of us dying”. And Matt’s imo only works when he’s the sole survivor. Like, in-universe I suppose it works since the police doesn’t know what happened but we know that there are more knowledgeable people they could be asking so it’s a weird note to end on with the “there was a manic and he killed Josh and then there was a monster you should check out”. It is well acted. I love it. Especially the ending. The order should go Sam, Emily, Jess, Ashley, Chris, Mike, Matt. I wish I could put Chris higher but his is a little bare. It works but I just wish there were more. Ash is at least a bit more informative.
The game has always hinted that Matt had always been an insecure lover so him confronting Emily when he did kinda makes sense for his character. I like to think him confronting Emily there was canon.
@@Kyle15672 has Emily ever actually lied in game or are we just calling her a backstabbing character so she MUST be lmao because I cant remember her lying to anyone... let alone Matt even lmao. I personally don't think that blame goes to Mike. It wasn't in the original, the writers added it, so it makes Mike look more like an @ss. :/. Idk, to me it seems out of character for him
@@eTootsi "🤓" bro it's been a month, you're too late because I already know that info as someone who just finished the remake. My point still stands that I think it's out of character. Bye 👋
whether Emily cheated or not, why are ppl acting like Matt was wrong for being suspicious about Emily and Mike after she lied to him, said she was gonna go talk to Sam, but ended up hugging Mike instead? to me, he had a perfectly good reason to be angry.
Not really she didn’t lie or at least that’s not confirmation lol. Just because she interacts with Mike doesn’t mean she didn’t go to Sam. They could’ve easily just met along the way. Mike and Emily were probably just reconciling after the squabble they had earlier. Even when they make it back to the cabin you have the chance to clear it up with Mike then that’s that. Idk why most people assume they are cheating because they hug. Now if they kissed that would’ve been a different story. Matt isn’t wrong for being suspicious but he definitely is for bringing it up while they are about to die. As if he was intentionally going to let her die for it while nothing even happened but a hug and a make up. Mike clearly didn’t have feelings for her and broke up obviously because of her attitude and personality. It’s harder to tell if em had any left over feelings but by the end of the game she definitely did not. At the cabin I’m more inclined to think she started mess with Jess because she hate her not that she had feelings for Mike. If you remember Jess and Emily were best friends before the twins died. Mike broke up with em because of problems then got closer to Jess to the point they started dating. Emily was pissed at Jess because she started dating the guy who broke her heart. That’s how I read their interaction and the situation.
I don’t think anyone thinks he didn’t have a reason to feel suspicious or hurt. But the way he called out Mike on the spot while pretending everything was fine with Emily only to confront her when she was about to die was pathetic
4:09 if anything, these cutscenes just show that jessica is fully capable of handling herself until dawn as much as emily. she just got dealt the unluckier cards but if given the same opportunity as em, she could've done well enough by herself.
This game definitely takes into account karma, or at least for Sam. She was Hannah’s real friend (Sam didn’t even know about the prank). At the shooting scene, she shows mercy for the (potentially) dead animals. She is is the only character who can’t die until the finale (besides Mike?). Her death is honorable, given how she does by protecting Mike.
Sam knew about the prank, it's clear by how her first appearance has her asking the group "don't you guys think this [the prank] is a little bit cruel?". One could theorize that she was told about it only last-minute, but she certainly knew.
Reminds me of another comment talking about Mike, Sam and Josh being the hardest characters to kill, cause Hannah was closest to them so she's not targeting them
So yes, Mike and Sam (and technically Josh) are the only characters who cannot die until Chapter 10. Try killing Mike in the sanitorium, it won't work, try getting Sam killed during her segments, it won't work. They both cannot die until the lodge. If Hannah does not recognize Josh, she kills him, but because he calls out her name, she knows her brother and wouldn't harm him. In that same scene, she initially grabbed Mike first and dragged him underwater, but we see he was able to get away. It's possible she recognized her crush and let him go. Her crush on him was big, not minor. Before that scene when we have Sam and Mike leave the water and go through a door to find Josh, we see Hannah in the water watching them. She could've attacked them, their backs were turned, however she did not. In the lodge she can kill Mike and Sam, because in that scene I think she is not recognizing them and just killing whatever moves. If Sam moves, her death is instant, so is Mike's. Hannah was about to kill Josh in the water until he said her name. Thats my take.
Am i the only one who thinks no one in the history of humanity has ever tried to have sex on a forest bench at night while it's snowing ? That seems more unrealistic to me than the wendigo.
My new favorite choice is "Suspicious" while Emily is hanging on to the tower and still being mean to me. I enjoy finding all of the in game clues to get the extra dialogue. This was fun to see other dialogue I haven't done.
@@dauntayconaim-mccarthy7890 I am aware and used it then too but not on my first playthrough. I'm just calling it my personal "new" favorite choice to make.
they should have made Sam and Mike killable before the last chapter but ONLY if Matt, Jess or both are still alive. Matt and Jess could then be the ones who find Josh in the mines and Hannah's diary. Jess can have dialogue on how she regrets planning the whole prank and Matt can also say a few things on the role he played in the prank. Thus in the case where Mike and Sam die before they meet Matt and Jess in the mines, Matt and Jess get back to the lodge on their own and look for the others (because Mike or Sam never told them the others are in the basement). The movement attracts the wendigo and they both die if they move/don't hide. Given that they are unaware of the wendigo lore at this point, they will not know that fire can kill the wendigo and therefore, the wendigo remain alive until dawn and the lodge remains intact. In the case where Mike and Sam find the two but die before they get back to the lodge, they will have informed Matt and Jess about the others' whereabouts and how the wendigo works. The same cutscene of the others running out of the basement will occur but this time, it's Matt and Jess who catch them on the way out of the basement. Matt will take Mike's role as the one who breaks the bulb or sacrifices himself by lighting the place on fire (I noticed Matt also obtains a lighter right before Jess and him meet in the mines so this makes sense). Emily or Ashley could be the one who runs to the switch depending on the order of who left the basement last. I say these two because they're the only ones fit enough to run. Chris and Jess are too injured to do it. But, tbh, Ashley doesn't seem like much of a final girl. She's more timid so I'll just say Emily. (I say Emily because I like her more than Ashley, she's the 2nd final girl after Sam imo and because saving everyone alongside Matt is couple goals). They'll work together like Mike and Sam do and kill the wendigo by blowing the lodge up. Why do I want Mike and Sam killable? Well, this is just an idea that could potentially make Matt and Jess have more of a role in the ending of the game cause they just disappear after they hide together in the mines.
tbh ashley culd use a chase scene if emily isnt there, but i get your idea is good, i wish they changed how the game story goes to acomodate more choices and paths, like imaginate an ending where the survivors are still under the impression this was all thanks to josh
@@cototototorra7106 that's also a good idea!! I can also imagine an ending where Emily and Matt weren't successful in getting help from the radio tower and everyone was forced to leave the mountain via the cable car. there's so many possibilities for different endings which don't involve the sequence at the lodge.
@@sao0 funnily enough, in the ps3 beta of until dawn the second sanatorium section is mike and emily instead of wolfi, and sam and emily go look for chris (okay, em was looking for matt but they went for him for the cable car key) it's very interesting how the beta was for how similar and diferent it was
There’s also a scene with Chris & Ash where she wants to stop and Chris tells her they have to find Sam. If you choose the Reluctant option, where she says she’s really scared, you get a cute a little moment between them (at least I thought it was really cute lol)
Funny thing about when Chris is talking to Ashley about the clues he found. If Sam actually found the answer clue and not Chris. He’ll still say it as he was the one that found it. 😂
Ugh. Emily's chase scene in the mines is cool and all, but I will never be able to like her as a character simply because of how she treats Matt. The totem pole scene makes it clear that she expects him to be gullable and fall for the prank easily. Not to mention all the other times that she berates him for not protecting her well enough. She constantly complains that he isn't good enough at keeping her safe, but what does she ever do to help him? In any dangerous situation, she just shrinks behind Matt and expects him to take care of it. People love to call her a badass because of her time in the mines but she relies on Matt for EVERYTHING in the first half of the game and whines constantly. Matt is capable enough to save Jessica later, tends to keep a relatively cool head under pressure, and genuinely has good perspectives about their survival. Staying with the group is a good idea, and sticking to the lodge has merit, even if calling for help should also be a priority. He was even the one who first mentioned the fire tower! He's a capable guy while Emily refuses to lift a finger unless she's forced to, and then she insults him.
She also didn't do anything special in the mines. Yeah she survived for quite a while and got out. But she had a massive help in the form of Stranger who was clearing the path ahead of her, tried to get her out of the mines, and gave her the flares. If Stranger wasn't there she would be dead in minutes.
@@bari3108Anyone of them would be dead in her place if the Stranger weren't there. Now during the chase scene? Only Sam could survive in her place, as they are both resourceful. Mike couldn't, because he's not that athletic, he's a guy who needs a weapon. Matt and Jessica wouldn't, because they're not really clever. Chris wouldn't, because he wouldn't be able to outrun the Wendigo. Ashley wouldn't even attempt it, she'd just cry and get killed. So yeah, what Emily did in the mines was special, it's her big moment/turning point, her being resourceful and make it in her own despite seemingly relying on others to protect her. This is why the devs refer to her as "potentially having the most heroic arcs in the game".
@@coolshah1662 Yes exactly, just like any other character. Which is why I don't understand people saying how she's sooo intelligent and sooo resourceful.

@@danisland I don’t want to start an argument with anyone, just want to share my thoughts. I thought it added a huge layer/context to their characters, and the complexity/imperfections of the characters made everything more interesting. I understand if people want to defend the change and disagree with me. Mike is portrayed as a hero, and I guess having zero sympathy for Hanna or remorse doesn’t paint him in a perfect light, I just can’t help but feel something was misinterpreted or that the characters are being misrepresented. When I looked further into this, apparently shooting Ashley as Chris raises their relationship?

Nobody told her to run out there and while it’s shitty that it all happened, they’re certainly not the ones that killed her. Am I alone on this?
i mean. they didnt treat her like they wanted her to stay, either. they manipulated her & it led to beths death & hannah becoming a monster. hannah couldve predicted that just as little as anyone else so running away is NOT the issue, its what anyone would do. she literally was the victim. she lost her human life. wanting to sleep with someone elses boyfriend is nowhere near that bad!

I agree with her and people can call me whatever they want for that. Obviously she said it very rudely and in a bad manner. But I think of it this way. Hannah was willing to sleep with her crush KNOWING he had a girlfriend. They all wanted to simply prank her. Nobody wanted to scare her, nobody wanted her dead, Hannah also went along with wanting to sleep with Mike. They were all in the wrong in a way. But nobody forced Hannah to flee and play victim. They pranked her and caught her in the act. That's Hannah's fault right there. Messed up prank but Hannah wasn't a complete victim. Ok I read abunch of comments here about Mike yelling "i dont know!" and yet I was still not prepared for how fckn funny that was.
Same, I saw the comments but they did not prepare me for what it would be like. Absolutely hilarious.
That's cool. The only disappointment, as before, is that Matt and Jess don't get more screen time, I feel like I could have had a whole section with Emily and them two in the mines at some point, but they disappear for hours lol.
I kinda believe that Matt and Jessica were suppose to 💀, at least Cannon wise. That's my guess as to why there wasn't more screen time for them
@jacobhernandez1938
You think they'll survive in the movie?
Idk about Matt but I remember for Jessica that she was always supposed to be the first one to die and be unsavable and is probably the reason why she doesn’t have much screen time
Right! That's upsetting me
5:29 Damn they really just used the dialogue from the prologue 😭 Same line he said to Hannah
That's cold asf 😬
Ikr i was like dude😂
yeah that was intentional
He said it on purpose
I feel like that’s what he means by “it’s worked before”
The fact that Emily still roasts Mike about the gun thing even when he goes out blowing up the lodge is hilarious.
I don't blame Mike at all for thinking that way, even I myself the first time I played wondered if I should shoot her. They didn't make up their own rules.

@@muratuysall tbh i hope the sequel does mention everyone and what was of them
Emily has the best “in the mines” interview.
LMAO when Mike stopped doing anything, it's literally like our influence on the player just isn't there anymore.
Okey, I understand Matt suspicious towards Emily and Mike, But… That wasn’t the time for such important conversation though…
I got her to come clean on the original game. She got on my nerves i like her near the end.
@@niyah7139she didn’t cheat on matt though
The game has always hinted that Matt had always been an insecure lover so him confronting Emily when he did kinda makes sense for his character. I like to think him confronting Emily there was canon.
Well, knowing Emily, if she wasn't in a life or death situation, she would've lied. So that was the perfect time if Matt wanted the truth.
@@Kyle15672 has Emily ever actually lied in game or are we just calling her a backstabbing character so she MUST be lmao because I cant remember her lying to anyone... let alone Matt even lmao.

@@eTootsi "🤓" bro it's been a month, you're too late because I already know that info as someone who just finished the remake. My point still stands that I think it's out of character. Bye 👋
20:33 Jeez Jess looks and sounds more traumatised than she does in the original game. I feel a lot more bad for her.
whether Emily cheated or not, why are ppl acting like Matt was wrong for being suspicious about Emily and Mike after she lied to him, said she was gonna go talk to Sam, but ended up hugging Mike instead? to me, he had a perfectly good reason to be angry.
Ashley: "We gotta be quiet the psycho is RIGHT THERE"
*Sam screams please no
Ashley yelling: "SAAAAAM??????" Right where she said to be quiet lol
It’s like when you tell your mom about a person and she turns a full 180 scanning the room to find them
Am i the only one who thinks no one in the history of humanity has ever tried to have sex on a forest bench at night while it's snowing ? That seems more unrealistic to me than the wendigo.

My new favorite choice is "Suspicious" while Emily is hanging on to the tower and still being mean to me. I enjoy finding all of the in game clues to get the extra dialogue. This was fun to see other dialogue I haven't done.
it was in the original too
@@dauntayconaim-mccarthy7890 I am aware and used it then too but not on my first playthrough. I'm just calling it my personal "new" favorite choice to make.
that choice isn’t as good as confronting Emily
they should have made Sam and Mike killable before the last chapter but ONLY if Matt, Jess or both are still alive.
This will change whole thing

@@charles1291 as someone who love slashers I've always seen Sam and Emily as great final girls

That's why of all the characters nowadays she's the one I hate the most, her lack of empathy and arrogant face and whatever makes me sad, she's that person who throws her friend in front of her so as not to be the one who gets hurt.
@merry7068 arbitrarily hating a character over a mistake the game devs made lmao when another character actively verbally abuses her boyfriend and starts fights with her ex's new gf being in the same room as her is actually ACTUALLY crazy 💀
@@LukeBridger I don't think it was a mistake because of Ashely's various actions, she gives this air of arrogance, extremely irritating lines such as her insistence with Chris about Josh and she herself sees that Chris is not well and she herself says you can't let me die, your action of one of his deaths where she causes it herself, ignorance and again the part where she cares about herself when she tells Emily to go away the lack of empathy with Hannah and better honestly she is a person that you would have in real life I would never be friends, Emily is an idiot just like Jessica and Mike I hate them 3, but Ashely gives me the impression of being that person who pretends to be nice but in reality only cares about herself and that's why the Emily, Mike and Jessica's hatred goes double for Ashely when it comes to me

Mike saying I don’t know is killing Me😂😂😂😂😂
I was surprised they changed and added some new lines.
Especially the beginning in the original Josh was knocked out on the counter but in the remake they moved him on the couch.
Guys idk but I think mike doesnt know
Sam definitely should have/would have slapped Chris after he shot the squirrel.
7:12 if Mike did not get throught the gate, how could he go to the sanatorium?
There’s an opening in the wall for you to go through
@@jaden3602 ok, I was thinking there is another way around. Thanks
I think the Emily comment to Matt about wandering off is a reference to the original, where apparently if you're not RIGHT by the door when she gets it open she accuses you of wandering off. Source: just played it and felt victimised
nope, definitely chump 3:00
I still don't like that the devs confirmed Emily and Matt didn't cheat. it seems like a major cop-out for a reasonable tension point for their various plots. when you have a "mean girl" type, utilize it; don't try to hastily redeem it with a new coat of paint 💀
idk it makes sense to me that she didn't cheat. Matt in the moment wouldn't accept a no as an answer so Emily told him what he wanted to hear, plus I don't think Mike would do that either, especially with Em.
4:15 had me cackling.. I never stopped to see what would happen if I did nothing during those scenes, and it's just funnier to witness between Jess and Mike... 11/10 scene... XD
Note guys: most of these are in the original game too!
10:57 well actually game developers confirmed that Emily did not cheat and Matt just jumped to conclusion
11:40 Please, it was just the tip! 😂
5:28 this is the exact same line he says to hannah during the prank o.o
This video reinforces my hatred for everyone but Sam & Josh. When they confront Josh the lack of empathy pisses me off.
I'd lack empathy if I wasn't part of the prank but I was the most targeted. Cough cough, Chris
8:00 i got this scene but i did not walk away xD i was standing right bevor her and she screaming at me like what xD
The Joss Whedon ass dialogue in this game makes me crazy lolll
