The fact that you can get Josh and Sam’s relationship bars higher than any of the couples’ is something I’ve always found interesting but I’ve never seen a video on it. Would be interesting to see :D
Just a little note; the devs confirmed that Emily did not cheat, and I believe that she falsely admitted to it because she is forthright and knew that it would get her out of the situation faster
I always feel so bad for Jess. She had the least amount of screen time, yet she got the worst injuries out of all of them. Poor girl can't even walk straight or hold herself up.
@Ocean4president in the original game, it sounds like it was a group prank orchestrated by everyone and there’s no indication anyone lead it in particular, BUT the remake tells us more, emily making her way around the room, directions and commands, pushing ashley and matt in the closet, sitting mike down in a chair, maybe it was like a duo thing- her and jessica did it.
5:28 when mike says "maybe we should start with a little making out, then see where it goes from there" i realised he said those EXACT WORDS to hannah when they were pranking her, but when he says "always has before" when jess was unamused it possibly means hes said it to emily as well, emily, hannah and jess deserve more fr
One thing i love about until dawn si the characters dont stand still when talking to each other. They will move and sway while in calm dialogue. They move their heads. They make faces. Most video games character stood still. They look af each other. They dont move until they are scripted. Their heads dont dhift much. It makes until dawn feel more natural. Im glad they did that
i mean there is a difference between scenes where you control the characters and scenes where you don’t… this game blurs the lines because decisions making or lack of that
Yeah, it's just cause it's an interactive movie essentially. If you look back to Beyond Two Souls or Heavy Rain or even Detroit Become Human, you'll see that they all have natural characters bc it's a movie more than a playable experience. Imagine a game like Witcher for example, having realistic animations for every interaction. It would take devs years to animate everything. This game has an easier time consistently incorporating that just because the game itself is short, it's less than 10 hrs.
4:09 if anything, these cutscenes just show that jessica is fully capable of handling herself until dawn as much as emily. she just got dealt the unluckier cards but if given the same opportunity as em, she could've done well enough by herself.
@THATMF393they confirmed there was no cheating in a twitch stream when they were playing the game, I found the vid on Reddit but I don’t have the link for it
@THATMF393 when you think about it, if your partner accused you of cheating while you were about to die, you'd probably just tell him what he wants to hear lol
It’s sad that if you get both Jess and Mike out, we don’t get the clip of her reunion with him. Cause at the end of the game, even if Jess is alive, Mike still thinks she’s dead.
Man Mike is so badass, I LOVE his line when he blows up the house with him inside. He must've been so afraid to die and yet he knows what has to be done
For real honestly at first I think they make Mike look bad on purpose so that you don't like him much but if you watch through the whole game Mike is freaking amazing
@amiroquet7476 I feel like Mike's character growth was huge in that one night. It revealed sides of him he probably didn't know about himself. They all changed, but he grew the most.
That's cool. The only disappointment, as before, is that Matt and Jess don't get more screen time, I feel like I could have had a whole section with Emily and them two in the mines at some point, but they disappear for hours lol.
Idk about Matt but I remember for Jessica that she was always supposed to be the first one to die and be unsavable and is probably the reason why she doesn’t have much screen time
Am i the only one who thinks no one in the history of humanity has ever tried to have sex on a forest bench at night while it's snowing ? That seems more unrealistic to me than the wendigo.
One thing i hoped for the remake was for them adding another segment with Matt and Jess. Make the mine section longer aswell as making them run towards the House. With them staying outside as they see the Wendigos inside.
Fun fact: Emily and Mike didn’t actually cheat on their partners and were actually just talking and the only reason she made it seem like they did was to move the conversation along becuz that was definitely not the greatest time to be asking those questions
@pezzo754Also it’s just incredibly unlikely Mike would cheat since he’s the one who initiated the break up in the first place so he could date Jessica instead. Also his willingness to possible shoot Emily says it all imo
Do you think Mike just had a moment of existential crisis, and maybe it lead to him feeling like he was being controlled by some outside force... so not being able to work out those movements left him dumbfounded and having nothing left to say but "i dont know!" 🤔😂
I personally don't think that blame goes to Mike. It wasn't in the original, the writers added it, so it makes Mike look more like an @ss. :/. Idk, to me it seems out of character for him
@eTootsi "🤓" bro it's been a month, you're too late because I already know that info as someone who just finished the remake. My point still stands that I think it's out of character. Bye 👋
The fact that Emily still roasts Mike about the gun thing even when he goes out blowing up the lodge is hilarious. 😂 Dude blew himself up and saved her life but she’s still holding that grudge
It’s more than a grudge. She was very clearly hurt and traumatized by that event. He was supposed to be her friend and her ex and he tried to MURDER her. And it’s crazy that so many people has a problem with Emily for this. When does it make you wrong for reporting a crime that has been committed against you? Mike committed a CRIME and she is reporting that CRIME! I wish someone would hold a gun to my face. On me I’m going to the cops 😂. Ain’t no way
@thatoneguy1232 As much as I can agree with this, you also have to understand Mike in the situation. He doesn't understand much about Wendigos, he is freaked out and panicked, Ashley is also panicking and pacing, creating more tension, it was Ash that said "If it bites you you'll turn into one" Mike thought he was eliminating a threat, he was scared for their safety, none of them really knew how it worked. Even Sam asks "IS that how it worked?" The circumstances weren't normal and I prob wouldn've expected her to turn too if I was in that situation. But no I can't blame Emily for resenting him for that. However I would also argue she isn't reporting a crime, but throwing him under the bus. She does this to Matt as well. As Matt if you choose to save her at the tower no matter what, you can still get the ending where she blames him. It's like nothing is ever her fault which works for her character.
@ exactly he doesn’t know anything and yet he was quick to jump to MURDER. Even though the stranger had said that cannibalism is how one turns. Mike and Ashley make up wendigo rules and double and triple down on what is a baseless assumption and traumatizes or outright murders one of their friends over it. And the worst part is that it’s Mike’s own violent escalation of the situation that makes things go from bad to worse. It’s Mike that gives no one time to breath and think about their situation. Sam tries to calm him down but fails, Emily instead is arguing for her life, Ashley won’t shut up, and Chris chimes in once appearing in favor of kicking her out but is otherwise out of it. The ONLY reason Sam asks how it works is because THAT IS WHAT SPREADING MISINFORMATION DOES! Before that Sam doesn’t agree. She straight up tells Mike that it’s ridiculous. It’s only after Ashley is yelling about how that’s how it works that Sam becomes confused and even then she still behaves reasonably saying “maybe it’s just a bite”. He’s the one to first tell Emily to practically march to her death and very quickly after threatens her with the gun. She’s reporting a violent crime that was committed against her. Notice that she doesn’t report Ashley because she didn’t do anything illegal to Emily. But Mike did. She can tell police what he did and something will happen. She also reports Matt if he left her to die on the tower. And it’s 100% untrue that she does this no matter what. If he attempted to save her dialogue is extremely different. If he died she cries over what she rightly assumes is his death and regrets her behavior, questioning if she could have somehow saved him. If he lived, then she asks about his wellbeing. She acknowledges that she wasn’t the best but defiantly declares how devoted she is to him and wonders if he knows how devoted she is.
@thatoneguy1232 I disagree... A lot... But ykw I won't argue with it because it's obvious we won't be able to see eye to eye on it. I don't blame Mike at all for thinking that way, even I myself the first time I played wondered if I should shoot her. They didn't make up their own rules. Ashley misunderstood due to her stress in the moment but hey you do you. Have a good day. 😁
@thatoneguy1232 Highly disagree with a lot of that. Especially when you said Mike and Ash make up their own rules, Ashley did because she was stressed and misunderstood what the stranger meant. They prob thought it worked like a zombie bite infection because they never heard of Wendigos before. I'd might've done the same in Mike's situation, I don't blame him at all for thinking she'd turn. A lot of people who played it also questioned it, but hey, you know what. It's obvious we won't see eye to eye on this and I can't convince you to feel differently so have a good day man! 😊 Agree to disagree?
The game has always hinted that Matt had always been an insecure lover so him confronting Emily when he did kinda makes sense for his character. I like to think him confronting Emily there was canon.
@Kyle15672 has Emily ever actually lied in game or are we just calling her a backstabbing character so she MUST be lmao because I cant remember her lying to anyone... let alone Matt even lmao. I mean even if she brushes off mikes hug when Matt asks thats not a lie lmao, because they never cheated and there's nothing to be upset at and she's telling the truth about it being a simple hug.
This was missing one of the rarest Emily lines, once you go outside with emily to look for the bag, if you let her stay alone for some time at the first locked gate while you wonder around alone with Matt, she will ask ”where were you” Matt replies something about that he came back and Em will literally say ”Good boy, now obey” 2 platinums of this game and still didnt know about this voiceline.
whether Emily cheated or not, why are ppl acting like Matt was wrong for being suspicious about Emily and Mike after she lied to him, said she was gonna go talk to Sam, but ended up hugging Mike instead? to me, he had a perfectly good reason to be angry.
Not really she didn’t lie or at least that’s not confirmation lol. Just because she interacts with Mike doesn’t mean she didn’t go to Sam. They could’ve easily just met along the way. Mike and Emily were probably just reconciling after the squabble they had earlier. Even when they make it back to the cabin you have the chance to clear it up with Mike then that’s that. Idk why most people assume they are cheating because they hug. Now if they kissed that would’ve been a different story. Matt isn’t wrong for being suspicious but he definitely is for bringing it up while they are about to die. As if he was intentionally going to let her die for it while nothing even happened but a hug and a make up. Mike clearly didn’t have feelings for her and broke up obviously because of her attitude and personality. It’s harder to tell if em had any left over feelings but by the end of the game she definitely did not. At the cabin I’m more inclined to think she started mess with Jess because she hate her not that she had feelings for Mike. If you remember Jess and Emily were best friends before the twins died. Mike broke up with em because of problems then got closer to Jess to the point they started dating. Emily was pissed at Jess because she started dating the guy who broke her heart. That’s how I read their interaction and the situation.
I don’t think anyone thinks he didn’t have a reason to feel suspicious or hurt. But the way he called out Mike on the spot while pretending everything was fine with Emily only to confront her when she was about to die was pathetic
20:55 That technically isn’t true, there is an order to which the final character in the list says to the reporters “there’s something in the mines” the order goes from Sam, Mike, Jess, Matt, Emily, Ashley, and Chris. If Sam is alive she’s always the one who says the final line. If Chris is the sole survivor it’s the only time he will ever talk about the mines. And for the dialogue you talked about, Chris and Ashley could be alive but since Emily is ahead of them on the list she’ll have the final line. If Matt was still alive as an example he would have the final line
i’ve always found this weird, i feel like emily’s final line is the best out of them all as she has actually seen the most. i guess the game sees sam as the actual final girl, especially now with the post credit scene
Emily has the best “in the mines” interview. It’s the most informative, one of the best acted, and most interesting one. I understand Sam being ahead of everyone. Hers is very good. Very mysterious and chilling and she is the final girl. But Emily should at least have gone second. Mike’s is terrible. He’s just like “yea it got him so I ran. No sense in both of us dying”. And Matt’s imo only works when he’s the sole survivor. Like, in-universe I suppose it works since the police doesn’t know what happened but we know that there are more knowledgeable people they could be asking so it’s a weird note to end on with the “there was a manic and he killed Josh and then there was a monster you should check out”. It is well acted. I love it. Especially the ending. The order should go Sam, Emily, Jess, Ashley, Chris, Mike, Matt. I wish I could put Chris higher but his is a little bare. It works but I just wish there were more. Ash is at least a bit more informative.
This game definitely takes into account karma, or at least for Sam. She was Hannah’s real friend (Sam didn’t even know about the prank). At the shooting scene, she shows mercy for the (potentially) dead animals. She is is the only character who can’t die until the finale (besides Mike?). Her death is honorable, given how she does by protecting Mike.
Sam knew about the prank, it's clear by how her first appearance has her asking the group "don't you guys think this [the prank] is a little bit cruel?". One could theorize that she was told about it only last-minute, but she certainly knew.
Reminds me of another comment talking about Mike, Sam and Josh being the hardest characters to kill, cause Hannah was closest to them so she's not targeting them
So yes, Mike and Sam (and technically Josh) are the only characters who cannot die until Chapter 10. Try killing Mike in the sanitorium, it won't work, try getting Sam killed during her segments, it won't work. They both cannot die until the lodge. If Hannah does not recognize Josh, she kills him, but because he calls out her name, she knows her brother and wouldn't harm him. In that same scene, she initially grabbed Mike first and dragged him underwater, but we see he was able to get away. It's possible she recognized her crush and let him go. Her crush on him was big, not minor. Before that scene when we have Sam and Mike leave the water and go through a door to find Josh, we see Hannah in the water watching them. She could've attacked them, their backs were turned, however she did not. In the lodge she can kill Mike and Sam, because in that scene I think she is not recognizing them and just killing whatever moves. If Sam moves, her death is instant, so is Mike's. Hannah was about to kill Josh in the water until he said her name. Thats my take.
@Lucy-uu7bb Chris should be included too even tho he wasn’t close to Hannah he still should have not been target since he also didn’t know about the prank. He Was drunk with Josh
There’s also a scene with Chris & Ash where she wants to stop and Chris tells her they have to find Sam. If you choose the Reluctant option, where she says she’s really scared, you get a cute a little moment between them (at least I thought it was really cute lol)
they should have made Sam and Mike killable before the last chapter but ONLY if Matt, Jess or both are still alive. Matt and Jess could then be the ones who find Josh in the mines and Hannah's diary. Jess can have dialogue on how she regrets planning the whole prank and Matt can also say a few things on the role he played in the prank. Thus in the case where Mike and Sam die before they meet Matt and Jess in the mines, Matt and Jess get back to the lodge on their own and look for the others (because Mike or Sam never told them the others are in the basement). The movement attracts the wendigo and they both die if they move/don't hide. Given that they are unaware of the wendigo lore at this point, they will not know that fire can kill the wendigo and therefore, the wendigo remain alive until dawn and the lodge remains intact. In the case where Mike and Sam find the two but die before they get back to the lodge, they will have informed Matt and Jess about the others' whereabouts and how the wendigo works. The same cutscene of the others running out of the basement will occur but this time, it's Matt and Jess who catch them on the way out of the basement. Matt will take Mike's role as the one who breaks the bulb or sacrifices himself by lighting the place on fire (I noticed Matt also obtains a lighter right before Jess and him meet in the mines so this makes sense). Emily or Ashley could be the one who runs to the switch depending on the order of who left the basement last. I say these two because they're the only ones fit enough to run. Chris and Jess are too injured to do it. But, tbh, Ashley doesn't seem like much of a final girl. She's more timid so I'll just say Emily. (I say Emily because I like her more than Ashley, she's the 2nd final girl after Sam imo and because saving everyone alongside Matt is couple goals). They'll work together like Mike and Sam do and kill the wendigo by blowing the lodge up. Why do I want Mike and Sam killable? Well, this is just an idea that could potentially make Matt and Jess have more of a role in the ending of the game cause they just disappear after they hide together in the mines.
tbh ashley culd use a chase scene if emily isnt there, but i get your idea is good, i wish they changed how the game story goes to acomodate more choices and paths, like imaginate an ending where the survivors are still under the impression this was all thanks to josh
@cototototorra7106 that's also a good idea!! I can also imagine an ending where Emily and Matt weren't successful in getting help from the radio tower and everyone was forced to leave the mountain via the cable car. there's so many possibilities for different endings which don't involve the sequence at the lodge.
@sao0 funnily enough, in the ps3 beta of until dawn the second sanatorium section is mike and emily instead of wolfi, and sam and emily go look for chris (okay, em was looking for matt but they went for him for the cable car key) it's very interesting how the beta was for how similar and diferent it was
Funny thing about when Chris is talking to Ashley about the clues he found. If Sam actually found the answer clue and not Chris. He’ll still say it as he was the one that found it. 😂
it used to-the remake changed this & her honesty goes up if she’s sympathetic instead. Same with Mike, where if he’s remorseful his honesty now goes up instead of down too
@danisland I don’t want to start an argument with anyone, just want to share my thoughts. I thought it added a huge layer/context to their characters, and the complexity/imperfections of the characters made everything more interesting. I understand if people want to defend the change and disagree with me. Mike is portrayed as a hero, and I guess having zero sympathy for Hanna or remorse doesn’t paint him in a perfect light, I just can’t help but feel something was misinterpreted or that the characters are being misrepresented. When I looked further into this, apparently shooting Ashley as Chris raises their relationship?
That's why of all the characters nowadays she's the one I hate the most, her lack of empathy and arrogant face and whatever makes me sad, she's that person who throws her friend in front of her so as not to be the one who gets hurt.
@merry7068 arbitrarily hating a character over a mistake the game devs made lmao when another character actively verbally abuses her boyfriend and starts fights with her ex's new gf being in the same room as her is actually ACTUALLY crazy 💀
@LukeBridger I don't think it was a mistake because of Ashely's various actions, she gives this air of arrogance, extremely irritating lines such as her insistence with Chris about Josh and she herself sees that Chris is not well and she herself says you can't let me die, your action of one of his deaths where she causes it herself, ignorance and again the part where she cares about herself when she tells Emily to go away the lack of empathy with Hannah and better honestly she is a person that you would have in real life I would never be friends, Emily is an idiot just like Jessica and Mike I hate them 3, but Ashely gives me the impression of being that person who pretends to be nice but in reality only cares about herself and that's why the Emily, Mike and Jessica's hatred goes double for Ashely when it comes to me
@RandomAesthetic80s that's not even the half of it. There is a secret ending you get should you as the reporter consume human flesh on blackwood mountain. You are the wendigo that scared Hannah and Beth. And then later possesses Hannah. The one that Jack fiddler defeated, only to be killed by a year later. If you do not do so you never get that secret ending.
@jewlbunny wait wait wait, we even get the story behind the wendigo spirit of han? after watching the "Until Dawn" movie trailer this really saved my day!
I thought the same way, but Chris gets hit by a piece of wood if Ashley is flippant about Beth’s disappearance so I guess each target is never directly affected by their choices?
@somecynic808Kind of a weird design choice in my opinion. I would think most people playing would assume those choices affect the character they are controlling so it’s weird they don’t lol
It might be a punishment for being bystanders in a way, like both of them fail to protect people in the initial prank. Sam doesn't stop him shooting the squirrel, Chris doesn't stand against Ashley's flippancy
I got captured in a room as Mike in my first play through in the sanatorium. Stuck to a bed or whatever it was and then there was wendigos all around him, but I don’t know how I got to that part
My new favorite choice is "Suspicious" while Emily is hanging on to the tower and still being mean to me. I enjoy finding all of the in game clues to get the extra dialogue. This was fun to see other dialogue I haven't done.
@dauntayconaim-mccarthy7890 I am aware and used it then too but not on my first playthrough. I'm just calling it my personal "new" favorite choice to make.
@shaleetza8712u can literally search it up on google, the devs confirmed it. It was what matt wanted to hear from Emily and Emily played along with it because she was literally dangling and Matt was the only who could save her
@eauxkei702 Intentional. She doesnt explicitly say so yk... And she just told him what he wanted to hear bc she didn't wanna die lol. Not a good place to have that sort of convo anyway...
if you don't have matt see emily and mike hugging through the telescope as ashley, later on chris will say a rare dialogue when emily and matt find him and ashley wondering out from the saw trap room in the woods
I always thought it was funny how em whines about her $800 sweater when she rips a part of it to make a torch. Meanwhile, Jessica wears a damn Parajumpers jacket and doesn't even mention it even when she falls into the river when Mike scares her. Em is also wearing cheap thermal boots from Lands'end she got at Macy's lol.
Ugh. Emily's chase scene in the mines is cool and all, but I will never be able to like her as a character simply because of how she treats Matt. The totem pole scene makes it clear that she expects him to be gullable and fall for the prank easily. Not to mention all the other times that she berates him for not protecting her well enough. She constantly complains that he isn't good enough at keeping her safe, but what does she ever do to help him? In any dangerous situation, she just shrinks behind Matt and expects him to take care of it. People love to call her a badass because of her time in the mines but she relies on Matt for EVERYTHING in the first half of the game and whines constantly. Matt is capable enough to save Jessica later, tends to keep a relatively cool head under pressure, and genuinely has good perspectives about their survival. Staying with the group is a good idea, and sticking to the lodge has merit, even if calling for help should also be a priority. He was even the one who first mentioned the fire tower! He's a capable guy while Emily refuses to lift a finger unless she's forced to, and then she insults him.
She also didn't do anything special in the mines. Yeah she survived for quite a while and got out. But she had a massive help in the form of Stranger who was clearing the path ahead of her, tried to get her out of the mines, and gave her the flares. If Stranger wasn't there she would be dead in minutes.
@coolshah1662 Yes exactly, just like any other character. Which is why I don't understand people saying how she's sooo intelligent and sooo resourceful.
the thing with Em is that she is intelligent, but her personality is spoiled to the extreme. After the tantrums in the first part of the game you are actually surprised that she is able to handle the situation in the mines, which only shows one thing: when people are around her, she is just manipulating everyone to get her way and then blaming them for not helping. Once on her own, she will do what has to be done without whining. She is selfish to the extreme. I know people like that. Don't forget she shoves Ashley out of her way at a critical part of the game, after her supposed "heroic arc".
anyone notise how mik said "start whith a little making out and see whare it goes from there" thats the exact same thing he said to hannah a year prior, the jessica sais "gonna use that on next years girl" hmmmm
I agree with her and people can call me whatever they want for that. Obviously she said it very rudely and in a bad manner. But I think of it this way. Hannah was willing to sleep with her crush KNOWING he had a girlfriend. They all wanted to simply prank her. Nobody wanted to scare her, nobody wanted her dead, Hannah also went along with wanting to sleep with Mike. They were all in the wrong in a way. But nobody forced Hannah to flee and play victim. They pranked her and caught her in the act. That's Hannah's fault right there. Messed up prank but Hannah wasn't a complete victim. She chose to run into the storm and her death was very tragic, but it was NOT caused by the others.
@F@TricksterCrazeould agree if they hadn’t set her up. Hannah was obviously so in love with Mike that even as a wendigo she spares him so from her perspective if Mike was finally giving her chance after years why wouldnt she take it? Having the camera there with everyone was a bit cruel and meant to embarrass her. And if we are speaking facts there’s no way she ever goes into the storm if they don’t do the prank ( the way everything happens is worst case but honestly it’s surprising she didn’t get killed by the OG wendigo before Beth finds her)
100% sure everyone knew about the "so you fucked him" line from matt as much as every one in this group of friends was a dick or ass or bitch for the exception of chris up until josh was in the shed, emily was still the worst of worst and everyone at one point wanted her dead so badly
@rinabridgewater4942 She was likely already possessed before eating Beth. Cannibalism is what triggers the transformation into a Wendigo if the spirit has already possessed you
@rinabridgewater4942 idk I was under the impression that when trapped in conditions of extreme hunger is when the spirit possesses them to resort to cannibalism but I'm sure its also possible that they're possessed after commiting cannibalism themselves as you said
It looks like you have some of them flipped: like mike's dialog in chapter eight. Most people will get his exposition of the sanatorium (you don' t need ALL the clues). The dialog you get when he didn't find any clue is the true rare dialog.
12:45 and i find out Dr.hill was who they were talking about Which makes him the mastermind of it all. Which in term gives more credit to the movie and how it fits in the universe. Whoa i think i figured this about before any other audience
I still don't like that the devs confirmed Emily and Matt didn't cheat. it seems like a major cop-out for a reasonable tension point for their various plots. when you have a "mean girl" type, utilize it; don't try to hastily redeem it with a new coat of paint 💀
idk it makes sense to me that she didn't cheat. Matt in the moment wouldn't accept a no as an answer so Emily told him what he wanted to hear, plus I don't think Mike would do that either, especially with Em.
It doesn’t really make sense, Mike seems like he’s happy with Jess and while Emily is crazy narcissistic she does seem to at least like Matt. Why would Mike and Em cheat ?
I was surprised they changed and added some new lines. Especially the beginning in the original Josh was knocked out on the counter but in the remake they moved him on the couch.
Is there any other videos you want to see for until dawn?
yeeeeees, do something about new finals on remake pls
omggg yess!!! @jooxkz
Unusual deaths
The fact that you can get Josh and Sam’s relationship bars higher than any of the couples’ is something I’ve always found interesting but I’ve never seen a video on it. Would be interesting to see :D
Just a little note; the devs confirmed that Emily did not cheat, and I believe that she falsely admitted to it because she is forthright and knew that it would get her out of the situation faster
Anything: Happens
Mike: I D O N ‘ T K N O W
He is so silly I love him
You need new pants ?
Cuz you shat all over those.....seriously don't turn on me homebody seriously not sexy MIKE 👧🏼
He is so real for this tho 😂
That shit had me dying lmao fucking relatable
it's like he is aware that something is taking control of him and he can't find a word to explain it that's why he keeps saying I DON'T KNOW.. 😂
mike’s “i don’t know!” running to the cabin is like the game is having a go at the player and the whole argument afterwards with jess haha
LITERALLY LOOOL
Matt: "Is that why you still like Mike? He's a thinker"
Mike: "I dOnT kN0W"
I love how everyone’s just running for their life and Mike is just like “ah yes, the sanatorium lore”
Maybe Mike knows that he can't die before the last chapter.
Ngl the sanatorium lore is very interesting.
Sadly to fully understand the lore you have to play a different game.
@GhostProtocolXLwhat game?
I'm literally Mike
@daemonlynn7616 The Inpatient.
A VR game which actually tells the story of the sanatorium.
I always feel so bad for Jess. She had the least amount of screen time, yet she got the worst injuries out of all of them. Poor girl can't even walk straight or hold herself up.
Nah cant stand her, shes not a girls girl
@ that’s fair, but I feel like the others should’ve had the opportunity to get that bad too.
@felicitysurprenant I for one am glad they prioritized the story over torture porn
i thought Matt did
@Ocean4president in the original game, it sounds like it was a group prank orchestrated by everyone and there’s no indication anyone lead it in particular, BUT the remake tells us more, emily making her way around the room, directions and commands, pushing ashley and matt in the closet, sitting mike down in a chair, maybe it was like a duo thing- her and jessica did it.
Ok I read abunch of comments here about Mike yelling "i dont know!" and yet I was still not prepared for how fckn funny that was.
Same, I saw the comments but they did not prepare me for what it would be like. Absolutely hilarious.
4:09 4:32 Mike’s yelling and fearful paralysis is comically hilarious here
Mike trying to open the gate with full force the wrong way is so hilarious, and I would have never seen it XD
"I DONT KNOWW 🤷♂️" BAHAHAHHA
Is so funny when Jess is like, "MIKE WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"
5:28 when mike says "maybe we should start with a little making out, then see where it goes from there" i realised he said those EXACT WORDS to hannah when they were pranking her, but when he says "always has before" when jess was unamused it possibly means hes said it to emily as well, emily, hannah and jess deserve more fr
wow
One thing i love about until dawn si the characters dont stand still when talking to each other. They will move and sway while in calm dialogue. They move their heads. They make faces. Most video games character stood still. They look af each other. They dont move until they are scripted. Their heads dont dhift much. It makes until dawn feel more natural. Im glad they did that
OMG THIS IS EXACTLY WHY THE GAME IS SO REAL OMG OMG
i mean there is a difference between scenes where you control the characters and scenes where you don’t… this game blurs the lines because decisions making or lack of that
It’s because it’s a rendering of real people so the actual actors were moving while talking and they chose good actors
@trish1630 true. and they dont just copy facial expression. It truely a peak of gaming back at its time
Yeah, it's just cause it's an interactive movie essentially.
4:31 🧍♂️”I DONT KNOWW” 😭😭
Hilarious 😂
4:34
4:09 if anything, these cutscenes just show that jessica is fully capable of handling herself until dawn as much as emily. she just got dealt the unluckier cards but if given the same opportunity as em, she could've done well enough by herself.
because she opened a fence and picked up a key? idiot.
Mike’s “I don’t know”s are so funny I love that himbo
Mike screaming "I don't know" while running away is giving Nick Miller energy
I love how even Mike is confused that he's not doing anything in chapter 3
11:37 The developers confirmed that Emily didn't cheat on Matt. This was probably a heat of the moment thing.
What? Please tell me where they said it cause She literally said "Please, Matt I'm sorry.." she made it sound like she DID do mike.
@THATMF393they confirmed there was no cheating in a twitch stream when they were playing the game, I found the vid on Reddit but I don’t have the link for it
@Blanketspets1234 It's alr, I'm just saying the game really made it sound like that
@THATMF393 when you think about it, if your partner accused you of cheating while you were about to die, you'd probably just tell him what he wants to hear lol
@THATMF393 If you scroll down to Emily's trivia section on her Wiki page you can find it.
It’s sad that if you get both Jess and Mike out, we don’t get the clip of her reunion with him.
Cause at the end of the game, even if Jess is alive, Mike still thinks she’s dead.
Man Mike is so badass, I LOVE his line when he blows up the house with him inside. He must've been so afraid to die and yet he knows what has to be done
man he can have his shlong in me ngl
And in the sanatorium, as he shoots the wendigo for the first time he says that exact line of dialogue
For real honestly at first I think they make Mike look bad on purpose so that you don't like him much but if you watch through the whole game Mike is freaking amazing
Hell if I go down the wendigos might as well come with me
@amiroquet7476 I feel like Mike's character growth was huge in that one night.
I kinda believe that Matt and Jessica were suppose to 💀, at least Cannon wise. That's my guess as to why there wasn't more screen time for them
@jacobhernandez1938
You think they'll survive in the movie?
Idk about Matt but I remember for Jessica that she was always supposed to be the first one to die and be unsavable and is probably the reason why she doesn’t have much screen time
Right! That's upsetting me
Am i the only one who thinks no one in the history of humanity has ever tried to have sex on a forest bench at night while it's snowing ? That seems more unrealistic to me than the wendigo.
I mean. Uh. The 1800s Ig?
I really hope Mike saying "I don't know!" becomes a Meme
One thing i hoped for the remake was for them adding another segment with Matt and Jess.
Make the mine section longer aswell as making them run towards the House.
With them staying outside as they see the Wendigos inside.
That would have been great!!
Miss opportunity
But their dialog in ending wouldn't make sense if that happened
@mimorisenpai8540
Then instead of making them arrive at the Lodge. We just see them make their way to it.
Or they just make new voice lines
@blindeyecreed yeah, they will have new voiceline for this if that scenario happened
5:29 Damn they really just used the dialogue from the prologue 😭 Same line he said to Hannah
That's cold asf 😬
Ikr i was like dude😂
yeah that was intentional
He said it on purpose
I feel like that’s what he means by “it’s worked before”
I love how failing the QTEs with Mike shows how much of a Queen Jess actually is :D
Which is the time she will be, unless she's alone in the mines.
Her real personality aren't bitchy
Yes! They should have added more scenes with Jess
Not at all.
Fun fact: Emily and Mike didn’t actually cheat on their partners and were actually just talking and the only reason she made it seem like they did was to move the conversation along becuz that was definitely not the greatest time to be asking those questions
yeah sure how you know this?
Fucking mike is something her character would do 100%, same for mike
@pezzo754because supermassive confirmed it way back, before we even knew of the remake
@pezzo754because it was confirmed by the devs back then with the og game that mike and em didn’t cheat on jess and matt
@pezzo754Also it’s just incredibly unlikely Mike would cheat since he’s the one who initiated the break up in the first place so he could date Jessica instead. Also his willingness to possible shoot Emily says it all imo
but she just admitted in the video
Do you think Mike just had a moment of existential crisis, and maybe it lead to him feeling like he was being controlled by some outside force... so not being able to work out those movements left him dumbfounded and having nothing left to say but "i dont know!" 🤔😂
Also noticed that the line that Mike uses on Jess in the cabin is the same line he uses on Hannah during the prank 😕
I hate that mike is needed for the ending i would’ve gotten his ass killed a long time ago
I personally don't think that blame goes to Mike. It wasn't in the original, the writers added it, so it makes Mike look more like an @ss. :/. Idk, to me it seems out of character for him
@ if the writers wrote him to be an asshole he’s an asshole
@TricksterCrazeit was in the original actually, I remember noticing this detail years ago. It’s the exact same audio clip and everything
Okey, I understand Matt suspicious towards Emily and Mike, But… That wasn’t the time for such important conversation though…
I got her to come clean on the original game. She got on my nerves i like her near the end.
@niyah7139she didn’t cheat on matt though
The game has always hinted that Matt had always been an insecure lover so him confronting Emily when he did kinda makes sense for his character. I like to think him confronting Emily there was canon.
Well, knowing Emily, if she wasn't in a life or death situation, she would've lied. So that was the perfect time if Matt wanted the truth.
LMAO when Mike stopped doing anything, it's literally like our influence on the player just isn't there anymore.
Ashley's cold as ice when she's talking to Chris about Hannah, huh
20:33 Jeez Jess looks and sounds more traumatised than she does in the original game. I feel a lot more bad for her.
Omg those mike cutscenes if you fail the QTE's are awesome! Him genuinely in distress that, due to powers unknown to him, he cannot act is hilarious!
Mike what are you doing!?
I don’t know!
Mike what the hell are you doing!?
I just I DONT KNOW!!!
😂
I know I make it to the end, and mocking the game for it!
Sounds like an argument with my ADHD brain. "What are you doing?! I don't know!" 🤣🤣
I love how if Mike is incompetent Jess just completely steps up while Mike screams I DONT KNOW 🤣🤣🤣
This was missing one of the rarest Emily lines, once you go outside with emily to look for the bag, if you let her stay alone for some time at the first locked gate while you wonder around alone with Matt, she will ask ”where were you” Matt replies something about that he came back and Em will literally say ”Good boy, now obey”
2 platinums of this game and still didnt know about this voiceline.
I didn’t know that’s rare, I got this on my first play through because I liked looking for totems somewhere else before continuing to the main story 😭
@audruto_like 95% of people follow emily or look for the totems or sort with her before they reach the locked gate lol
whether Emily cheated or not, why are ppl acting like Matt was wrong for being suspicious about Emily and Mike after she lied to him, said she was gonna go talk to Sam, but ended up hugging Mike instead? to me, he had a perfectly good reason to be angry.
You're an asswhole if you make Matt character to react like that cuz you could've clear that up earlier and not during the heat of the moment
@theingenue4398 No dude would put himself in danger for a h03
@theingenue4398i mean it's our choices that makes him act like that. he can be a toxic gf or a good one
@muratuysall tbh i hope the sequel does mention everyone and what was of them
Emily has the best “in the mines” interview.
3:14 he looks so majestic bro
3:49 same, bro is hot
Jordan Fischer my love
He just died in my playthrough in the most stupid way ever (hooked like a pig by wendigo). I'm still mad about it, like wtf
My friends when I kill a character:
What are you doing!?
Me: I DONT KNOW!
@Erika-xm2miI think in the original, Sam doesn't know
There’s also a scene with Chris & Ash where she wants to stop and Chris tells her they have to find Sam. If you choose the Reluctant option, where she says she’s really scared, you get a cute a little moment between them (at least I thought it was really cute lol)
Ashley: "We gotta be quiet the psycho is RIGHT THERE"
*Sam screams please no
Ashley yelling: "SAAAAAM??????" Right where she said to be quiet lol
It’s like when you tell your mom about a person and she turns a full 180 scanning the room to find them
I've played a lot of Until Dawn, but never in my life have I considered shooting the squirrel nor the bird. And anyone who does is a psychopath.
they should have made Sam and Mike killable before the last chapter but ONLY if Matt, Jess or both are still alive.
This will change whole thing
@sao0 funnily enough, in the ps3 beta of until dawn the second sanatorium section is mike and emily instead of wolfi, and sam and emily go look for chris (okay, em was looking for matt but they went for him for the cable car key) it's very interesting how the beta was for how similar and diferent it was
Love how if Ashley says something awful about hannah, CHRIS is the one to suffer
Jess:What the hell is happening
Mike:I DONT KNOW
Funny thing about when Chris is talking to Ashley about the clues he found. If Sam actually found the answer clue and not Chris. He’ll still say it as he was the one that found it. 😂
mike's i dont know's are killing me man i cant stop laughing
Loving emilys extra sass in the remake
Emily is extra toxic
Jess: What are you doing?!
Mike: I don't know! It's like I'm remote controlled!
Ashley’s honest trait goes up whenever she blames or belittles Hanna, so she has no remorse.
it used to-the remake changed this & her honesty goes up if she’s sympathetic instead.
@LukeBridger I don't think it was a mistake because of Ashely's various actions, she gives this air of arrogance, extremely irritating lines such as her insistence with Chris about Josh and she herself sees that Chris is not well and she herself says you can't let me die, your action of one of his deaths where she causes it herself, ignorance and again the part where she cares about herself when she tells Emily to go away the lack of empathy with Hannah and better honestly she is a person that you would have in real life I would never be friends, Emily is an idiot just like Jessica and Mike I hate them 3, but Ashely gives me the impression of being that person who pretends to be nice but in reality only cares about herself and that's why the Emily, Mike and Jessica's hatred goes double for Ashely when it comes to me
LOL MATT HAS MORE PERSONALITY LETS GOO
there’s also a hidden dialogue in chapter 8 if emily only finds beths phone
17:53 fun fact: there is a playstation vr game about the story of the reporter
Whats the game?
@destrybrooks64The Inpatient
LOOOL Why is this the first time im hearing about a fucking Until Dawn prequel?? Thanks!
What I don’t get is Chris kills a squirrel yet Sam gets punished for it. 😑
@Crispy_DAWG Idk, I think it’s supposed to be ✋”M y s t e r i o u s”🤚
It might be a punishment for being bystanders in a way, like both of them fail to protect people in the initial prank. Sam doesn't stop him shooting the squirrel, Chris doesn't stand against Ashley's flippancy
Butterfly effect is the answer
I got captured in a room as Mike in my first play through in the sanatorium. Stuck to a bed or whatever it was and then there was wendigos all around him, but I don’t know how I got to that part
7:18 and this will also appear in Mike's flashback when the stranger tells them about Wendigo.
7:50 was too FUNNY like GIRLLLL
🚶♂️🥷
MaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaAaaaaAaaaaaT......
My new favorite choice is "Suspicious" while Emily is hanging on to the tower and still being mean to me. I enjoy finding all of the in game clues to get the extra dialogue. This was fun to see other dialogue I haven't done.
it was in the original too
@dauntayconaim-mccarthy7890 I am aware and used it then too but not on my first playthrough. I'm just calling it my personal "new" favorite choice to make.
that choice isn’t as good as confronting Emily
🤣Mike just standing there while in the middle of the chase is hilarious “ Mike WHAT ARE U DOING !? “.
“ IDKKKKK 😨”
lolll they gave matt an actual personality!!
I love how for almost every option and thing you do there's extra dialoge. You can play the game so often and still find small new things
emily never cheated because the devs confirmed it.
where and when did they say that. the game literally said they frigged
@shaleetza8712u can literally search it up on google, the devs confirmed it. It was what matt wanted to hear from Emily and Emily played along with it because she was literally dangling and Matt was the only who could save her
They did a terrible job making that clear and they need to accept that. It definitely comes off as cheating, even if you don't press Emily about it.
@shaleetza8712 in some livestream i think? When they were playing the game
@eauxkei702 Intentional. She doesnt explicitly say so yk... And she just told him what he wanted to hear bc she didn't wanna die lol. Not a good place to have that sort of convo anyway...
nope, definitely chump 3:00
7:25 I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THIS
Matt:”Is that why you like Mike? Because he’s a thinker?!”
Mike:😳
Matt: Is that why you like Mike? Because he's a thinker?
Also Mike: I DON'T KNOW
Game Grumps have been unlocking a lot of this dialogue in their playthrough by complete accident
if you don't have matt see emily and mike hugging through the telescope as ashley, later on chris will say a rare dialogue when emily and matt find him and ashley wondering out from the saw trap room in the woods
9:00 if you dont press anything, she will climb it back all alone
4:15 I love how it’s like Mike is saying ‘What are you making me do?!’ To the player.😭 Also this moment is so funny 7:37 the way he just walked off😂
I always thought it was funny how em whines about her $800 sweater when she rips a part of it to make a torch. Meanwhile, Jessica wears a damn Parajumpers jacket and doesn't even mention it even when she falls into the river when Mike scares her. Em is also wearing cheap thermal boots from Lands'end she got at Macy's lol.
I laughed so hard at "I DONT KNOW?!?!?"
😂🤣😂🤣😂
4:16 I DON’T KNOW 4:34 I JUST DON’T KNOW
A scarecrow mask would have been scarier than a clown, terrifying as clowns are.
@theCheekiestMal Just like every other character you mean? This is such a lame argument. She also finds the most clues.
Mike and Sam are the absolute Badasses.
12:08 why does Chris get hurt from that it was Ashley that said the hurtful crap man 😂😅
anyone notise how mik said "start whith a little making out and see whare it goes from there" thats the exact same thing he said to hannah a year prior, the jessica sais "gonna use that on next years girl" hmmmm
i love how mike says "maybe we should start with a little...yknow, making out" with both hannah AND jess
Probably Emily too
11:58 oh gosh, she actually said that, kinda in her style
And Hannah hear that.
And if we are speaking facts there’s no way she ever goes into the storm if they don’t do the prank ( the way everything happens is worst case but honestly it’s surprising she didn’t get killed by the OG wendigo before Beth finds her)
@thepowerofsand6180Disagree. Have a lovely day ✌️
Guys idk but I think mike doesnt know
I didn't know these would be considered rare. I've only done one playthrough, and I got most of these scenes. So cool!
100% sure everyone knew about the "so you fucked him" line from matt as much as every one in this group of friends was a dick or ass or bitch for the exception of chris up until josh was in the shed, emily was still the worst of worst and everyone at one point wanted her dead so badly
5:28 this is what he says to Hannah in the beginning 😢
It’s sad (especially when he says “it always has before”), but I kinda like it because it portrays him as the stereotypical Casanova character.
Josh just being a freak for stealing sam's clothes and making her run in a towel thats freaky
wait were they saying that hannah ate beth out of desperation?
yes
Hannah resorted to cannibalism due to being possessed by the spirit of the makkapitchew who was killed the time they fell
@aiimen3339 no? She ate her because she was starving and then got possessed.
@rinabridgewater4942 She was likely already possessed before eating Beth. Cannibalism is what triggers the transformation into a Wendigo if the spirit has already possessed you
@rinabridgewater4942 idk I was under the impression that when trapped in conditions of extreme hunger is when the spirit possesses them to resort to cannibalism but I'm sure its also possible that they're possessed after commiting cannibalism themselves as you said
"I DON'T KNOW" 💀
Until Dawn is unmatched by any other Supermassive game.
10:17 for this section, i don't know why all of deer are bug(male).
Im sure male deer not make group that big.
also im pretty sure it wasnt a them hooking up thing for mike an emily he jumped to that conclusion
My favorite rare dialogue is “it’s just a prank Han”
I’m just realizing how many clues I missed while playing 😭
Give Mike a break he doesn’t know
Emily - “ it’s pitch black in here “
Matt: Ight Imma head out
😂
Note guys: most of these are in the original game too!
