Human trampers aren't an endangered species yet. DOC's limited budget is channeled into protecting birds. Clearing trails comes last after rebuilding storm damaged huts and bridges. The TA Trust Board have one person whose job it is to check the entire trail and I suspect they rely on volunteers to do trail work. I'm glad you were able to get through that section safely and hope you're still enjoying the trail, not just looking forward to arriving in Bluff! Stay strong and have fun. I love your videos. They show places that other's don't.
I love the little thoughts you say out loud taking care of me 😍 you’re so kind Nikki! Thanks again for sharing your food with me, thanks to you I completed that amazing section with nice memories ❤
I am loving this section from Queenstown to Burwood, it seems like it's made for you to reflect on the TA and on yourself for that matter. Good time to do it solo. I wonder if Judy felt the same ?
Must've had some rain with all that runoff surface water. Bit of a freak fall of trees. What obstacles. Ohh for orange triangles 🔺️ Bliss! Well done! Sooo less to go. You're soon in the shadow of the great southern ocean. Good on you!!!!
At 9:00 I see your shadow ahead of you, and being from the northern hemisphere, I think that means you're heading north (the sun in the south at midday) but then I realized it would be in the north at midday in the southern hemisphere. Someone has said that the reason our clocks run in the direction they do (clockwise) is because they were invented in the northern hemisphere, as they mock the movement of the shadows on a sundial. A nice walk today, with lots of water. Thank you again.

Your unfailing cheerfulness amazes me. Bravo!

Thank you for that, I can’t avoid my shadow at times, at the moment with it being so cold I’m grateful for the sun at whatever time it comes out 😂
So many tree falls!! The lakes and area look as great as I remember!
Those tree falls were tricky but the walk was stunning
