Thanks for stepping through the settings for Live Time and Live Comp, especially the display and exposure times. Very helpful. Likewise the discussion on what the "noise reduction" process is doing.
Watched after the live stream and was very impressed, it cleared up a lot of misunderstanding as well as encouraging me to have a go at some things I had in mind and got some props for. Thank You David from New Forest UK
Thanks so much for this video. It helps me out tremendously, I have just purchased the Em1 mk3, and it has a bucket full of features. Which I'm trying to get figured out, and live comp is one of the most important reasons I purchased this camera. For star trails and light painting. So it's awesome to finally get some help on how it works. Thanks again for the awesome video.
Enjoy your videos. Do you have an answer to: Trying to use a 1.4x teleconverter with a full 4/3 lens, using the stepdown Adapter to provide the space needed for the 1.4x projection?
Hello from New York City! Can live composite be used for product photography? Is the final image in RAW or JPEG format? Thank you for informative video.
He turned off noise reduction in the live bulb section to save time. But, does he recommend that live noise reduction should be turned on for live bulb and live comp? I use Topaz for noise and sharpening. Is that the better way to go?
Everyone has their own preference. What we do know is that lots of people are telling us that the noise reduction software is now so much better than even two years ago that t gives you much greater scope to shoot at higher iso's. But please do remember that all systems reach a point where the light is not enough - that will never change
I realize I am late to the game (like a YEAR late?) but I just obtained an EM-5 mkiii and am trying to learn about these specialty modes. My Canon only had the 'trial and error' Bulb mode so I am REALLY looking forward to trying the Live Comp mode. Thank you SO MUCH for your brilliant and highly detailed explanation of how to properly use LC mode. I am looking forward to trying it now. And I really look forward to being in the Olympus ecosystem from here on out.
I went out on Sunday and used the long exposure with ND filters. Used Live comp which I now realise was totally incorrect. All my shots failed but now I realise why. Looking forward to next session using the correct settings.
Thanks very much. That was enlightening.
Hi from Czech Republic, very good lecture, thanks

My first SLR was the Olympus OM-1. With the 50/1.8. I swapped it to an Sharp EL-512 calculator.

David great show, in live composite can you set the time between frames.
Keep up the great shows
We do need more in English
Hi Phillip - That would be interval shooting, which you can do if you want, but Live Composite is designed to run in Real time, no gaps :) - David

We don't mind how late you are, as long as you made it! And we are glad the content is useful 🙂

Why is it still called Olympus? Should it not be OM System? I'm confused.
Relax!

35:47 - "This is the quality we are achieving...". Shit-quality. Look at the Olympus-name. Shift between exposures/misalignment.
Look at the hot shoe and the 'drive' dial. Tack sharp. The Logo is 3d relief.
Don’t say “hey Google”
Great tutorial! Thank you from the United States! LETS GO BRANDON!
