I was interested that you said there was vehicles from different states. Im thinking a lot of people from all over might stop by because it’s a great place to see migrating birds.

This is a beautiful campsite and park. 👍

While we honestly prefer the beauty of a park like Palmetto, Choke Canyon is beautiful in a different sort of way.
      Thanks for your comment.

No tent camping. Gators get indigestion.

I know. We needed to stay somewhere between San Antonio and Padre Island. Choke Canyon was the park that best suited our needs.

hello from mt peti jean ark. another informative park review. I don't know about tent camping with known aligators in the area. you have a safe healthy and joyful journey ahead and im headed back to the ozarks

I'm with you, Phil. I'm not tent camping with known alligators around. By the way, I've heard that Mount Petite Jean is a gorgeous Arkansas park.
As always, thank you so much for your comment.

Two Tired Teachers, yes, Petite Jean SP is very nice. A remodeled section with full hookups and gorgeous views. Well worth a trip up there. Ask for senior discount since there is not that click on the reservation site. Ft Smith State Park, Queen Whilamena SP. Mount Magazine, Lake Catherine....and so many other wonderful Arkansas SPs. No gators! 😏

@@lizchilders4154 I love the no gators part already. I don't believe we have ever stayed at an Arkansas State Park, but I keep hearing great things about them.

Very awesome video like always!! You have to come to Brazos Bend State Park. They have tons of alligators. They are fine. You don’t mind them. They won’t mind you. Just keep moving and don’t make eye contact :)

I don't know that we'll make it to Brazos Bend; we don't like gators.😯 We do appreciate your comment. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for the review! How was cell service in the park? I will need to use my hotspot to work while I'm there and was wondering if you had any issues with AT&T or Verizon service? Thanks for sharing!

    • @TwoTiredTeachers

We have neither AT&T or Verizon, so I can't help you out. It's been more than a year since we took that trip, and I cannot recall if we had any service. I can tell you that we often have no service unless we go to the headquarters and use their wifi.

I'm sure you could outrun a alligator on the trail.

I'm 60 with a fake hip. About the only thing I could outrun is a turtle. 😃

Turkeys rule at Palo Duro Canyon State Park. They took over the road when I was there. Highly recommended destination

We've not been to Palo Duro since we were kids; however, the canyon we loved was Caprock Canyons where the bison were close enough to touch. Amazing.

Wow Gators that is a scary thought especially after recent stories of people being attacked and eaten along with their fur baby! Definitely agree no tent camping for me or fishing! Beautiful Park!

We had a no gators policy, but this was the location that was best for us, so we decided to stay. We did't see any live gators, but we were very aware that they were in the park.

Very nice park. You were lucky to be there when so many things were in bloom, especially the Mesquite trees. Since you are such a non fan of alligators, I doubt if Florida is on your radar for a place to visit.
