I’m guessing the grenade’s concussion wave would pretty thoroughly scramble your brain before you could see what it’s like to be a lonesome head. Although soldier is probably used to shockwaves from all the rocket jumping

As a fun and obscure fact - the explosion for soldiers Kamikaze taunt actually happens a little bit above him. This means you can wedge yourself under a very low ceiling and perform the taunt while surviving. I believe there's a spot in two fort where you can do this (I think it's one of the sewer tunnels?) Which is rather amusing because the explosion is also a walkable area for other players. Meaning you can spam the taunt there and end up getting kills on people above you.
I like how the shovelhead taunt makes your vision blur. And the sudden cut to black for the Kamikaze is hilarious! Man, I wish the shotgun salute taunt used ammo and was a tauntkill though.. it'd be really cool
1:40 I always love the melee taunt. Just the sheer strength of soldiers rocket jumping and with the ability to instant (almost) kill using the market gardener alone is a god like ability. Just getting hit by a flying soldier falling from the speed of earths gravity and almost getting faster and faster to smash you on the head giving you brain damage and concussions.

I like that Valve put the First Person Camera just at the level of the eyes. In other games (like PayDay), the vision of the player on first person is from the character's neck or chest.
um first person taunts already exist alias bodytoggle "toggle cl_first_person_uses_world_model 0 1" alias taunttoggle "toggle tf_taunt_first_person 0 1"
Have you ever noticed that your camera is still free and under your control? You don't flip when you use Panzer Tank. Your eyes clip through your body and overall quality is worse. Plus it's a showcase of all taunts at the same time AND the fact that *you* know about these commands, doesn't mean that others do. And again, it's just not the same.
Call me out if I'm remembering wrong, but if I do remember correctly the banner grenade juggling taunt was originally the shotguns, before they gave the shotty what it now uses.

I never noticed that the taunts that use grenades actually have him take them off his bandoleer as part of the animation before.
if u replace the grenades with a cosmetic that replaces them, soldier will throw around those instead

there's a bridge on thundermountain where you can do this as red team (the cart is right above the spot so you can potentially get many kills)
