  • I have a CarPlay solution. Who knows if it will sustain while riding, as I will let you know. Have you ever been in that finance room, and in your head you know the number you are paying on that motorcycle only leaving there financing 5 to 10k more? Well, this is what all these dealerships do. I wish it were a much easier process. I feel that Harley Davidson should take care of you after spending so much money on a bike.

I totally agree with everything you said. I paid for my CVO ST out right and had to sit through all the upsale for another hour of my time. I thought if I was paying cash for the bike, I could skip any of the finance upsale, but I was wrong.

After 40+ years of riding and 30+ bikes, I bought my first HD, a '23 fat bob.
I couldn't believe the crap I sat through. I was deep enough into the sale, so walking away probably wasn't going to happen. But they were giving me enough time to change my mind.

    Hey Joe Dan,
I also own CVOST, golden white pearl the bike definitely starts with the kickstand down the only way it won’t is, if you’re not in neutral. like yourself I wrote a big check and finance very little through Eagle Mark but I did buy the extended service plan warranty with the tire and wheel. It cost me $2399. I plan on keeping this bike because it’s a 25th anniversary. I think it’s the holy Grail right now for CVO’s! I also purchased new a 2015 street glide CVO and a 2020 road glide CVO both which I still own. The CVOST is on another level IMHO!
The disappointment is no power locks and no CVO cover I was like what the hell really Harley……

No Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) on a $$$$$ touring bike doesn't bother you?
Just curious, as my 1st bike with ESA was an '18 Grand America and when manufacturers offer both, I spend the extra money. I have ESA on 4 of my bikes.

Some of these multi-year extended warranties run concurrently with the factory, so when they offer a 5+ year, subtract the factory warranty. If you can add the extended warranty up until the factory is up, or XXX miles, it's probably better to wait.
Of course, Finance pushes hard to lock it in with the sale, because in a year or so, you'll know whether, or not it's actually needed.
When does the HD ext warranty kick in? I declined it on my '23 fat bob, at least for now.

Can you add that warranty before the original warranty ends?

@@joedanreed I'd confirm it, but my guy told me yes when he realized I wasn't going to add it during the sale.

I brought an extended warranty with my 2019 RGS, I have had to have an engine and transmission rebuild and the tire and wheel package was definally worth it...I have 60,000 miles on my bike and 'needed' a lot of tires 😉 so for me it was a very good deal... but you have a choice right.

    • @joedanreed

Yes I totally agree. Good thing you had that warranty. I couldn't imagine the cost of an engine and transmission.

    • @paineys3341
      @paineys3341 6 месяцев назад +1

@@joedanreed The transmission was $3051 not sure about the engine, I had new heads, cylinders and pistons so Im guess no change out of $5000 plus a number of tires ;)
I ham hopefully looking at a 24 Road Glide later this year and will def consider an extended warranty again...my transmission went out on the very LAST day of my extended warranty!

Best plan. Pay cash. Never buy an extended warranty. Put the cash it would cost you in savings. After the warranty, IF you have a break down pay cash and get it fixed.

I didn't get the warranty when I got my 24 RG a week ago. I figure if it really bothers me I'll get it in a year. or when the factory warranty is about to expire just for that warm and fuzzy.

Better keep your old bike for a backup when it new one doesn't run
