Getting yourself threatened and having your life flash right before your eyes is enough to traumatize you for weeks and months and if not for years ahead. Whatever we can carry to stop that threat from taking our lives, like pepper spray, is 150 percent Worth It.
I'm being told in Ontario that I cannot carry or use such a spray on an attacker. I am being hurrassed by young adults, but cannot protect myself? Something is really wrong here.
Worlds crazy, people should be allowed to defend themselves. Far as I am concerned you’d be doing them a favour by using a spray vs pretty much any other method of defending yourself. You should look into walking canes if you’re a bit older, there are several legit martial arts around them. They also really work, at the end of the day a walking stick with a knob for a handle is pretty much just a mace, which is a legit weapon used in medieval times. My gramps had one with a metal spike at the end and a brass knob as a handle with the body made of heavy solid wood. I’d wager it would have done more damage than a baseball bat plus could be used for stabbing. Pretty crazy now I think of it.
Use it anyway if you have a clean record your fucked.if your a criminal on probation with 84 charges done no time then you Can do whatever the Trudeau clan of bleeding hearts for criminals street Junkies
Worth mentioning thats it’s quite easy to entirely miss your target with the tiny cans, not a whole lot of of it coming out either. The big mace you can totally hose a person or two down, guaranteed hit in the eyes even with glasses on. As far as I am concerned you have to either get the eyes or get the stuff into nose/mouth as the target breathes in, preferably both. A lot of weaker stuff hitting all three is preferable compared to the strong stuff going past the guys ear cause you’re panicking/dodging a knife.

@@rickace132 I am a long time local truck driver and decided to try out running the east coast in 1998. I carried a butane mini torch and a can of hairspray for those three months. If I ever sprayed someone with it, I would just tell them that I noticed a nest under the cab the day before so I brought the spray to get them. That's why I just happened to have it with me.
Just curious, Sabre Red spray has 1.33% capsaicinoids and Sabre bear spray 2% capsaicinoids. What made you conclude that Sabre Red is stronger? Did you get hit the bear spray directly in the face just the way you tested the Red one?
I carry a firearm, but these options might be nearly as effective, a good alternative, or in many cases, maybe even more effective. I bought a large can of the Bear Spray to keep handy, and I want to get some smaller, more portable options for loved ones.
When shopping for Sabre bear spray and the smaller pepper spray for use on people Sabre claims that the bear spray is 2.0% , while the spray for people is 1.3%. The spray that my sheriffs department issues me is listed at 1.3 % not sure where i can get that 10% stuff.

Good to know. Even though the bear repellent is only 2% I am wondering if the volume of it may make up for the weaker content. I saw a video where a druggie was robbing a pharmacy and someone used bear spray (why they had that there and then I never found out) on the subject and he fled in pain fast. Just the same, I'd stick with the Sabre red (or preferred brand) as it is intended dealing with people. I carry a sidearm and pepper spray for in town. I'd prefer the pepper spray but have a firearm in case the situation called for that. As for the middle of nowhere (especially in black bear country where I go), I do have bear repellant but also a Redhawk .44 mag. Same situation as town, but bigger tools for more powerful creatures, and a .44 mag works just as well on bipeds, though not the primary reason I bought it. Anyway, that's what I do and good video.
Pepper spray does weaken with age, but it's the pressurized cylinders that usually fail before the pepper strength is ineffective, thus the 2 to 5 year shelf life on most pepper sprays.
