Thank you for all the nice comments. Oscar passed away last December, he was 10 years old and was the sweetest little bunny. I understand some of you were concerned with the banana but he did not eat this daily not even weekly. He ate fresh herbs like mint, cilantro, basil, veggies like celery, green peppers and a few baby carrots. Along with his rabbit feed. He would periodically get fruit like apples, bananas and raspberries. He was very well fed little bunny and my vet felt this is one of the reasons he lived as long as he did.
My rabbit loves bananas. She gets excited when she knows shes getting a treat. She darts around the living room and does binkies all about the house. She also gets a bit disappointed if her treat turns out to be something besides a banana.
Bananas are an excellent source of potassium. They should be given every other day to your bunny and in moderation. Please consult your vet or a veterinary dietician for additional advice. Thank you!
I think every other day is too much because bananas also have tons of sugar and that could be a lot for a little bunny I think once a week would be better, but that’s just my opinion

The rate of metabolism doesn't negate the potentially disastrous effects of feeding that much banana at one time. The high sugar content in banana can cause a serious imbalance in the gut. The sugar causes a fluorish of bacterial growth that imbalances a rabbit's extremely delicate bacterial gut balance.

RDS815 Rabbits/bunnies are herbivores and do not have the teeth necessary to eat flesh as well as a digestion tract adapted for flesh consumption. If your rabbits are eating flesh you have made a very big mistake down the line
Oh my gosh noooo. The vet told me to NEVER feed my bunny bananas. (Unless dried) Because it's hard for them to swallow and gets backed up in their throats.
This is really cute but that's way too much sugar for him. Please take really good care of your bunny. Even carrots have too much sugar to be consumed frequently by rabbits
@Troyju2006 yes he is a little spoiled but he is bonding with us more and more every day. He is almost 6 months old. when he hids behind the couch all I have to do is tap on the floor and he gets up & comes to see me cause he wants to get his face and hears rubbed
They should only be given the size of your thumb. Also, in case you do, don't feed banana daily :0 So far your bunny knew exactly how much to eat from it. Smart bunny :)
