Yeah, I have my Numbers cards, God cards, Ghost-rares, Blue-Eyes/Dark Magician/Red-Eyes monsters all in binders, while my other cards are all in deck boxes. Of course, my rarest cards are in cases.
My card collection suffered very badly over the years because I was moved around a lot due to family issues, it’s not as great as it once was but the best part about being an adult now is that u can remake your collection with the cards u always wanted to get I also found this video to be very instructive & entertaining so thank you
Cards that are properly organised give me a hit of pure satisfaction. I'm still working on organising mine since I got back into Yugioh and have a similar way of doing so. Except I have five of those boxes and split them into different ones (Normal Monsters, Effect, Extra/Ritual, Spells and Traps). Then I'm going go through all them and put my rares into binders and then after that proceed to price all of them and see how much I can get off cards I don't want.
Dude you and I came up with the same organization system. Exept I also have a bunch of binders in wich I'm trying to get one 1st edition card from each set.
I organized my cards as follow: Cards you wanna trade: binders are the best, I have 3 with this way: Extra deck with subtypes like tuners, union, Pendulum, ritual etc, one for main deck in combination with normal by level, and lastly, one for spell and trap by type as well. Additional copies: empty promo boxes like Duel Overload and empty booster boxes for the remaining cards.
I've tried doing something similar myself but never had the time to finish it. This is something one day I hope to achieve! You have the patience of a top tier duelist!
I was about to organize by alphabetical archetypes ( ex. Alien through yosenju) in boxes then in binders i was going to do staples that are expensive and popular. But that was going to take too long so thank you for doing this video
I used to organize cards like this. However, recently I scrapped it all and decided to do it like how MOST stores do it and just organize by TO SELL vs COLLECTION and then by SET and then ALPHABETICAL. To sell are in a box. And then my collection are in multiple binders. I just buy a zipped binder for every 3-5 sets that are scheduled to come out. It's an investment but worth it IMHO.
I've been bringing collection/pack opening videos and it's made me really want to collect yugioh. Don't even care for playing but the cards look so cool and I really want a timesink like this to work on over time
@TGS Anime I finally got done organizing all my Yu-Gi-Oh cards. But what I did was to organize them from A-Z, Dark & Light, Earth & Water, Fire & Wind, Spells, Traps. I also have them all written down, so I can put them back in the right order.
Tbh I did a very similar thing with my collection. I put all my premade decks and put them in a binder then I printed out a page to be a divider for each deck with its name/release date and even a picture of the structure deck. I then sorted the premade decks release date. I have then a binder for extra deck monsters, spells, traps, main monster cards that are rare or higher. For the Spells and Traps, my sorting went for Rarity -> Type (continuous, normal, etc.) all separated on their own pages. But for my main and extra deck monsters, my sorting went Rarity -> Level -> Atk -> Def. Again all sorted out in their own pages. But for fusions and rituals I separated them by if I have all the correct fusions materials/rituals for that card. So for a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, I would have 3 blue eyes right next to it to signify that the fusion is done. However anything that is common, I have a bulk 5000 card box holder for them and sorted them the same way but every card is in a penny sleeve. But I have an another binder for my favorite cards/collection pieces. I have all my god cards on their own pages but I also have pages for all the Tin promos that Ive collected and even all the Number cards in order. Not only is that all organized, I even have an inventory every single card I own in a google sheets so I can just search it if I want to know I have anything. This inventory took about 5 years do lol TGS anime, you did a very good job sorting everything out and most defiantly looks much better haha
I sort mine relatively the same way you do. I sort my holos by main deck, ritual, synchro, xyz, link, fusion. Then the spells & traps each have their own binder. All sleeved of course.

I keep my decks in boxes and my other cards with matching types. since i love dragons, the dragons have binder to themselves. You'll be suprised how few dragons are in the game compared to other monsters.
I organized my cards by the rarities (Common, Rare, Super Rare, Ultra Rare, Secret, etc), then organized them by card type (Normal, Effect, Fusion, Ritual, etc), then place the monsters by attribute (dark, light, water, earth, wind, fire, divine), and spell/ traps by type, then arranged them in alphabetical order. I keep the signed cards in sleeves (DM, Jinzo, SD Dragon, BRD, Relinquished & TER)
i just recently got back onto collecting yugioh cards, (all the cards that i had as a kid have been long go to trashcan.....religuos parents, what you gonna do) I only have around 800 -900 cards right now, and everytime i buy more, i have to organize them all on the 3 binders i have so far.....I organize them by the types (monster cards= divine, spellcaster, dragon, wyrm, fiend, fairy, beast, winged-beast, beast-warrior, warrior, machine, ....etc., then ritual, fusion, synchro, xyz, link, pendulum, tokens, traps, magic).....is a pain but it feels rewarding.....
I bought a case of the 800ct bcg boxes. The fit about 1100 yugioh cards a piece and had 50 of the boxes in it for around 100 Canadian shipped to my door. It might seem like a lot of space 55000 cards aproximatly but it’s really easy to sort with them and was realitivly cheap
I have two binders and they're sorted by Links, Pends, Xyzs, Syncros, Rits, Fus, Mons, Spells, Traps, Toks.. And they go by levels as well highest to lowest
I don't have a ton of cards, maybe like 500 or so and they're just all in the same box. Still organized in my old school manner, by card type (synchro, fusion, ritual, normal, effect, spells, traps) and then by attack value for monsters and by spell/trap type (normal, continuous, etc...). But I realized that it's not very easy to find what I want that way, especially for monsters, so I'll probably consider either a more archetype-based approach or straight up alphabetical order, while still keeping card types separated at the very least.
I keep all my favourite cards in the same Legendary Collection binder. I put the three Duelist Kingdom tokens up front so I could have all my unplayable Egyptian God sets together on a page. First page is dedicated to my Barrel Dragons

There are two ways I organize my cards. By type and alphabetical order. I'll sort them by fusion, fusion pend, synchro, synchro pend, xyz, link for the extra deck monsters. Then I go normal by type, effect by type, pend by type, spells alphabet, traps alphabet
I have always kept my collection in a tin, unsleeved. My cards were all warped, but I used the hair-dryer method to flatten them. Also the sides of the cards turned from white to yellow, but you can't see that if the card is sleeved.
I don't even bother with separate by holos/m/s/t - EVERYTHING goes into 3 of my bulk boxes in straight alphabetical order. Commonly used staples/ED cards go into binders. I have a dozen decks/cores in a bin that sits on a rolling cart thingy i got from ikea - the duel cart.
I quite like the organizing tray. saves space, maybe I will use something similar instead of the tins/displays for ordering. But the non set order and specific holo binders are something I cant do (anymore). My holo collection is too large for binders, so now they just all go to the other cards. anyway, maybe I will be resorting cards this weekend to get more space in my closet :D (I sort them all after sets) Also the structures are neat. I do somewhat the same, although I try to make them real decks in the end. ANd I have none of these closable bags, Tins have to do it for me xD
I really want to get into yugioh and I have been learning the game so much, and really starting to love it. However I don't know anyone that plays and I can't seem to justify paying 150 dollars for a single card and needing three of them. thats just so much for a card that isn't even collecting card. there's so many different hobby's and passions I can put that money into. How do you guys play when so many decks can easily go for 1000 dollars? I understand there are budget variations of decks but imagine having to be limited so much on a game you love, and even if you do spend the money that's insane for cardboard. I have heard that this is the highest the meta game has ever been, but I haven't heard if this will change or go back to a normal price. it really makes me sad but I feel like I have to give up on a passion before it gets way too crazy expensive and get let down cause I cant play certain decks I love
Unless you're trying to compete at the top level of play I can guarentee that often you can play budget versions of cards and still have a good time. If you can find someone who's experienced with the game and talk to them you can probably find a way to start playing the game on a budget and from there you can just spend as much or as little as you want. Most $1000 are really just people playing with the very best everything with the intent to win almost all of their games and spending that much when you're still new to the game won't guarentee you any free wins anyways. At one point I had organized my cards alphabetically by monster/spell/trap... That was before I started collecting again and now it's just a mess of piles and half-built decks on shelves...
My collection is pretty organized. The only problem is that as soon as i make a dent in putting all the cards in thier proper place, i get more cards and need to put them in their proper place. So I've got piles of cards all over my room, and when some piles disapear more cards just take their place lol I do wish that i had started off with keeping my bulk commons sorted though, i have too many now to go back nd sort them.
I have a box. Inside this box there are smaller boxes. One for each deck, 2 for monsters, 1 for spells, one for traps, one for extra deck monsters, one for extra sleeves, one for whatever didn't fit in their boxes. I will need to get another box soon
I've never landed on a collection method. First I thought it'd be cool to rewatch/watch for the 1st time the animes and collect the cards based on appearance. Did most of Duel Monsters that way and it's pretty cool flipping to a page and remembering what duel it was. However, you're putting commons in the binder that way (I buy the BCW Zipfolios with quad rows, but my commons really should be in a box like yours. Then I fell off that early through Gx because I wanted to buy max rarities and Jaden's neo spacians ulti are crazy expensive. I've already fallen off of ultis I think because as cool as they looked back in the day, later ones aren't as impressive (I think they changed printing method at some point) and all of them kind of take away from the original art, which is a pet peeve of mine including with video game box arts. You buy Diablo 4 off Amazon, has the picture and everything, and the copy that arrives has the preorder incentives slammed on the front cover; now I wait for unboxing vids. Back to Yugioh though, I also had trouble pinning down the rarity heirarchy I liked. In my mind I wanted everything to follow ulti > secret > ultra > super > rare > common, but some artworks are better in certain versions, so that has halted my collecting. Finally, I wanted to buy a box of every set to open packs, take my chance at the money card(s), and have absolutely new (not Amazon or eBay "New" that arrive with dents) cards. Pretty sure it's like a set every 2 weeks, so have fallen way behind doing that, and it's not very cost effective. I also recently watched a video arguing how old school Yugioh monsters were more demonic/dragon/knights and now it's mostly waifus. I think I'll use some of your tips here to get my current collection under control, get rid of the excess, and then start going through each set and buying just the cards I want (the Gate Guardian new fusions on my mind right now). I should also finish Arc-V and start Links and Sevens so I know fully what cards I actually would like to collect. /rant

Or just sell me your bulk. :) I have a problem. But for commons, I put as many as I can in each penny sleeve (25 max). You can also buy BCW plastic dividers. Not that pricey. Then use a label maker for letters.
The collection of cards I want to sell because they're doubles, I sort them by set alphabetically (ABYR-, ANPR-, as an example) then the cards of each set alphabetically. Idea being to find them more easily for a buyer. The main collection... is weird. First is all the levels-less Tokens, then the three cards from Yugi's Legendary Decks (those might go at the end of the collection actually). Next is Link monsters sorted by Link rating, then ATK, then name. Then the rare few Level and Rank 0 cards (like Number F0), then they're sorted by Level/Rank. Level and Rank 1 first (I put the Xyz with the rest, they don't have their separate section), sorted by ATK, then DEF, then name. Repeat for Levels/Ranks 2 to 12. (Let me tell you, the Level/Rank 4 section is stupid big.) After which it's Spell cards sorted by card type (Normal, Equip, Continuous, Q-P, Field, Ritual) Then Traps (same - Normal, Continuous, Counter), with each section sorted alphabetically. Then Skill cards. Then at the end, any promotional extras like Field Centers, Art Tokens, etc. Not a sorting that helps if I want all the cards I have from any one set, but far more useful if I know the name of the card I'm looking for and its stats. Helps that I don't intend to sell those.
I have... Decks that I play in their own box(es), then groups by archetype, then generic card type (Traps, Spells, Fusion, Synchro, XYZ, Pendulum, Link, Normal, Effect)

My Yugioh collection never got that big, but my MTG collection is another story. On some level they're easier to organize because there aren't as many card types
to be honist i organized my yugioh cards and pokemon cards by anime seasons . so with yugioh i catagorize them by anime characters i have a divider with the name of the character who used those cards even the nobodies who was not main characters but was important too the main character i have them down they had a im portant roll . like the old guy from 5ds who was the main characters friend . but i do it by anime season for my cards and divide them up not by sets thats just consuing for me .
Id love to show you my collection, so far I have 16 binders with x vault black 9 pocket pages and each card has its own specified space which is labelled, yes it isn't future proof I know. All in alphabetical order and spaces for the cards I'm missing in the collection am trying to get play sets of all cards :)

You know, I would have all problems with duel links and the only good thing I can say is thank goodness my cards a virtual made which makes the organization much better........ I just wish those could be added to the Konami I.D. instead of only being used on Duel links.... :(

At one point I had organized my cards alphabetically by monster/spell/trap... That was before I started collecting again and now it's just a mess of piles and half-built decks on shelves...
My collection is pretty organized. The only problem is that as soon as i make a dent in putting all the cards in thier proper place, i get more cards and need to put them in their proper place. So I've got piles of cards all over my room, and when some piles disapear more cards just take their place lol
I do wish that i had started off with keeping my bulk commons sorted though, i have too many now to go back nd sort them.

I have a box.
Inside this box there are smaller boxes.
One for each deck, 2 for monsters, 1 for spells, one for traps, one for extra deck monsters, one for extra sleeves, one for whatever didn't fit in their boxes.
I will need to get another box soon
Structure decks are just fun to play with friends not competitively
They are too imbalanced sadly. Of course, nothing is stopping you from balancing them to be more fair to each other.
The way I organize my cards is by Monsters, Spells, Traps, and Extra Deck.

I've never landed on a collection method. First I thought it'd be cool to rewatch/watch for the 1st time the animes and collect the cards based on appearance. Did most of Duel Monsters that way and it's pretty cool flipping to a page and remembering what duel it was. However, you're putting commons in the binder that way (I buy the BCW Zipfolios with quad rows, but my commons really should be in a box like yours.
Then I fell off that early through Gx because I wanted to buy max rarities and Jaden's neo spacians ulti are crazy expensive. I've already fallen off of ultis I think because as cool as they looked back in the day, later ones aren't as impressive (I think they changed printing method at some point) and all of them kind of take away from the original art, which is a pet peeve of mine including with video game box arts. You buy Diablo 4 off Amazon, has the picture and everything, and the copy that arrives has the preorder incentives slammed on the front cover; now I wait for unboxing vids. Back to Yugioh though, I also had trouble pinning down the rarity heirarchy I liked. In my mind I wanted everything to follow ulti > secret > ultra > super > rare > common, but some artworks are better in certain versions, so that has halted my collecting.
Finally, I wanted to buy a box of every set to open packs, take my chance at the money card(s), and have absolutely new (not Amazon or eBay "New" that arrive with dents) cards. Pretty sure it's like a set every 2 weeks, so have fallen way behind doing that, and it's not very cost effective. I also recently watched a video arguing how old school Yugioh monsters were more demonic/dragon/knights and now it's mostly waifus.
I think I'll use some of your tips here to get my current collection under control, get rid of the excess, and then start going through each set and buying just the cards I want (the Gate Guardian new fusions on my mind right now). I should also finish Arc-V and start Links and Sevens so I know fully what cards I actually would like to collect.

But for commons, I put as many as I can in each penny sleeve (25 max). You can also buy BCW plastic dividers. Not that pricey. Then use a label maker for letters.
The collection of cards I want to sell because they're doubles, I sort them by set alphabetically (ABYR-, ANPR-, as an example) then the cards of each set alphabetically. Idea being to find them more easily for a buyer.
The main collection... is weird. First is all the levels-less Tokens, then the three cards from Yugi's Legendary Decks (those might go at the end of the collection actually). Next is Link monsters sorted by Link rating, then ATK, then name. Then the rare few Level and Rank 0 cards (like Number F0), then they're sorted by Level/Rank. Level and Rank 1 first (I put the Xyz with the rest, they don't have their separate section), sorted by ATK, then DEF, then name. Repeat for Levels/Ranks 2 to 12. (Let me tell you, the Level/Rank 4 section is stupid big.) After which it's Spell cards sorted by card type (Normal, Equip, Continuous, Q-P, Field, Ritual) Then Traps (same - Normal, Continuous, Counter), with each section sorted alphabetically. Then Skill cards. Then at the end, any promotional extras like Field Centers, Art Tokens, etc.
Not a sorting that helps if I want all the cards I have from any one set, but far more useful if I know the name of the card I'm looking for and its stats. Helps that I don't intend to sell those.

I have... Decks that I play in their own box(es), then groups by archetype, then generic card type (Traps, Spells, Fusion, Synchro, XYZ, Pendulum, Link, Normal, Effect)
I organize my era then by character then by cards the character would use for the newer cards
Honestly if you decide to start selling them, I would love a starter deck signed by you personally, that would be so cool.

My Yugioh collection never got that big, but my MTG collection is another story. On some level they're easier to organize because there aren't as many card types

i think the fake god cards add a really individualistic charm to the binder
to be honist i organized my yugioh cards and pokemon cards by anime seasons . so with yugioh i catagorize them by anime characters i have a divider with the name of the character who used those cards even the nobodies who was not main characters but was important too the main character i have them down they had a im portant roll . like the old guy from 5ds who was the main characters friend . but i do it by anime season for my cards and divide them up not by sets thats just consuing for me .

Id love to show you my collection, so far I have 16 binders with x vault black 9 pocket pages and each card has its own specified space which is labelled, yes it isn't future proof I know. All in alphabetical order and spaces for the cards I'm missing in the collection am trying to get play sets of all cards :)

You know, I would have all problems with duel links and the only good thing I can say is thank goodness my cards a virtual made which makes the organization much better........
