The Škoda Enyaq iV is an all-electric crossover SUV manufactured by Škoda Auto. The official premiere took place on 1 September 2020 in Prague. The serial production commenced in November 2020.
The name is derived from the Irish name Enya, which originates from the Gaelic word ‘eithne’, meaning ‘essence, spirit or principle’. The Enyaq is the first model of a new naming convention within the Škoda's range where electric models' names will start with ‘E
The production model is called Enyaq iV and was revealed on September 1, 2020. It is assembled at the Škoda plant in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic for the European market.[10] It is the first Škoda car to utilize the Volkswagen Group MEB platform. The Volkswagen ID.4 is a sister model. The serial production of the car for the European market in the Czech Republic commenced on 25 November 2020. The first cars have been delivered to customers in the Scandinavian region in late April 2021, and in Western and Central Europe in May 2021.
The Enyaq iV will be available either as rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with three different battery capacities and five performance versions. The base model will have a 55 kWh battery pack and a 109 kW (148 PS; 146 bhp) electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The most powerful variant will be the RS, with two motors having a combined power of 225 kW (306 PS; 302 bhp).
The Škoda Enyaq has a drag coefficient of Cd=0.27.
The boot holds 585 litres, but there is no storage under the bonnet unlike in some electric vehicles.
The Enyaq iV also has a Sportline variant, with more aggressive styling and leather upholstery, as well as a power and range upgrade, alongside other goodies.

Great review and you make a great case for buying electric over petrol or diesel. I also agree that you don’t need many of those expensive optional extras but you should tailor the spec to suit your own requirements.

There is actually a solution built in where you can lift up the back of the boot ’cover’ and have a flat loading bed 😉.

Greetings from Pilsen, Czechia, the town where the Škoda brand and logo were born LOL.
Of course one could argue that Škoda did so many things better than VW because Czechs are more artistic, and were just suppressed by Germans, Austrians, and Soviets, and blah blah blah. It's not really the right answer. Germans could do most of the things equally well but Germany is just going in a wrong direction. They are spending their resources into things like banning a small Audi girl with a banana, with migration, gender quotas, and futurism which often stands for impractical, ugly, boring new solutions that everyone has to accept because someone said it was new and good. But it's not. Škoda was building a vehicle from the perspective that the electric vehicles are clearly inferior so far, by price, by range, and by the speed of charging, among other things, so it needed to do at least a competitive vehicle with the petrol ones. Every detail is carefully considered and the folks doing it are fortunately not too overpaid yet. Like Kateřina Vránová, a typical emancipated Czech lady who designed the 5 interior designs according to 5 living room styles.
It's totally obvious that almost all unbrainwashed consumers will pick the Škoda solutions - which means a faster display, some basic functions available by one tap, not several taps, plus physical buttons instead of touch buttons for everything, physical metallic volume wheels on the steering wheel. And the umbrellas are really also needed, as Rolls-Royce has known for years. The rectangular muscular shapes of Enyaq are cool and the boring ID.3-ID.4 round blob is often defended by aerodynamics. But live with that, the actually measured C_W is better for the Enyaq! Making boring droplet-like round shapes is due to the designers' laziness and they just invent pseudoscientific fairy-tales about aerodynamics and futurism to justify their lousy job. These are easy ways for mediocre people to do their job and in Czechia, we sort of know that this is a wrong attitude - especially because Czechs have become better in this attitude during communism and they know why it doesn't help the whole. The Czech bosses know that this is an employee's attitude one must regulate away vigorously. So Germans who work in Škoda must also adapt to the old-fashioned quality standards - which were really normal up to the 1980s or 1990s in Germany, too.
As the only technological patriot in Czechia, I like Enyaq and it's clearly better in many respects than even the Superb, the petrol flagship. Most of the advantages of Enyaq really can be transferred to the Superb, some can't. But overall, an electric car that is a real equivalent to a petrol car of the same type is still $15,000 more expensive. The gap may shrink in coming years but it's still here. Denying this basic fact is the first lie that leads to the production of inferior products and many other things. When someone can get away with the basic lie, namely that the petrol cars still make more sense, he can get away with a slow UI or anything else.
OK, it's so quiet. Laura, could you please shut up for 19 minutes? Thanks. ;-)

Ok i bite i am brainwashed. I drive Tesla because its cheaper faster has better drive train
and better software. And yes: Its futuristic. And it works. I have ordered a Cybertruck. Hopefully it finds its way to Europe.
In about 14 days i get my new Skoda Enyaq because i need a transporter and i do not use fossil cars that stink anymore.
Until i can order a bigger, better, maybe cheaper one with decent range and assistants.
Maybe it will be another Skoda with 600km range? Maybe its a Model Y? Maybe its a XPeng? I do not know today.
Yes i am brainwashed. I must confess.
