A restaurant style Kadhai Paneer recipe. Paneer cubes are simmered in an onion tomato masala flavoured with a special Spice Mix that is created fresh. The masala is made fresh with 5 spices that are roasted and ground.Let’s put them together to create our favourite restaurant style Kadhai Paneer!

RECIPE :
Kadhai Paneer
Preparation time:30 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves:4
Ingredients:
250g Paneer (cottage cheese)
3 tbsp Oil
1 cup minced Onion
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
½ cup fine chopped Tomato
1 Capsicum, cubed
1 Onion, diced
3tbsp tomato puree
1tsp chopped ginger
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
½ tsp chopped green chilies
Salt to taste
2tbsp oil
2tsp kadhai masala
For the Kadhai masala:
2 tbsp black pepper corns
¼ cup coriander seeds
2 tbsp jeera
5 dried red chilies
1tbsp kasoori methi
(Dry roast all the spices till fragrant and lightly coloured. Grind to a coarse powder.)
Method:
Cut the paneer into 1” cubes.
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the onions and sauté on medium heat for 8-10 minutes or till light golden in colour.
Add the chopped ginger, chopped green chilies, ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2-3 minute.
Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, kadhai masala and sauté for a few seconds.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook till the oil surfaces.
Add the tomato puree and ½ cup water and bring to a boil.
Add the paneer pieces, capsicum chunks, onion chunks and simmer covered for 4-5 minutes.
Cook till the oil surfaces.
Sprinkle 1 tsp Kadhai Masala and mix,
Serve hot with naan or misi roti.
