    Excellent sound and it's 1976 he sounds great..! In last year of his life this proves he wasn't drugged out of his head eating shite.. like the media like to portray him in his final years ...he has been much maligned.. the mans a legend ! .

      While Elvis is vocally sharp here, you must admit that his band (and back-up singers) is absolutely on fire with this up-tempo version of Polk Salad Annie.

    Agree Elvis always pulled out the stops for Polk Salad, this is definitely one of the best - presumably when he says " Lord. Hope they don't go " he means his pants not splitting!

    Poke Salad Annie - one of my fave songs, but heard Elvis do it. Love the live version of him doing it in that white jumpsuit, having a great time. wow!!!! He also always had an amazing band backing him up in his prime.

    I don't have the words for how un-fathomably perfect this is.
    I've come to find that late-'70s versions of this song have strong horn section, but still, this one is the top-tier, on-point, Rock 'n' Roll performance. The Joe Guercio orchestra was rockin' this night man, and Elvis, of course, in top form, and the rest of The T.C.B. boys on freakin FIRE!
    My absolute favorite!

    It's POKE SALAD Annie....anybody in the deep south knows this. Poke salad is made from the young leaves of the dandelion plant, along with tomatoes or whatever else you want to include. Cooking it with hamhocks or chunks of bacon is DE RIGUEUR in the South.

      Actually it is poke sallet, according to Wikipedia. When Tony Joe White wrote the song, everybody just commonly called it poke salad in the South.

      Hate to reply to a thread that’s 5 years old but yes. Larry Londin covered for Ronnie tutt for part of this March Tour. To my ears it makes it sound really fresh and exciting and I think maybe Elvis was enjoying the more driving force of Larry’s drums. I believe there was a couple of other personnel changes on this tour.

    Yeah this sounds different as Larrie Lodin was on the drums for parts of this march 1976 tour - listen to a full concert ESP 17 march and most of the songs have a fresh sound - but do disrespect to ronnie tutt - it's just nice to hear something a bit different

      Larrie Londin was on drums that night. Also, Shane Kiester was on piano that night too, but he (Kiester) only played with Elvis on the March 1976 tour.

      Larry pushed too much. He rushed every single song. Tutt has some groove and he followed Elvis' movements.
