  • The latest series of low-priced, solid state combos from Fender is a bit of a bigger deal than you might assume. For starters, the Fender Mustang Amplifier series offers more than just impressive volume for your dollar. These amps pack impressive digital modeling and DSP-driven effects sections - loaded with uncanny recreations of some far-pricier vintage Fender combos - not to mention the ability to edit presets via USB and the included Fender Fuze software.
We checked out the Fender Mustang II, the 1x12, forty-watt entry in the series.
Oh, and you may notice something different about this video. No, it's not Owen's dirtstache. . . He's had that all along, it's just now you can see it thanks to the fact that we're now producing video in 1280 by 720 HD*. You're welcome.

Actually, this thing ROCKS. You just have to find the sound you want on the amp and then DI into the house board for the needed volume if you are gigging. I can't say enough about this little dude of an amp. It has some great clarity, variety, and endless effects tunability. Best is when you are writing songs, you can jump around and checkout hundreds of classic sounds instead of buying pedals and cords and plugs for 1000 bucks in effects. And, if you jump up to the IV or V models, you are def set for gigging in a cover band. Of course, if you are doing an all original deal, you will want to hunt down your own pedals and create "YOUR" sound, keeping your settings secret; but this little amp is awesome for the small time rocker who wants to song write and do some mild gigging.

FYI if you do the latest firmware update, you gain the ability to control mids with the knobs on the amp instead of having to use Fuse to edit mids.
Just hold exit and turn the treble knob. That adjusts the mids.

just recently bought a Gibson SG n thot I`d buy a new small practice amp, after much trying of various models from all different brands, Marshal, Fender, Vox,Orange, but finally decided on a Mustang 2, and what a great choice, the presets r awesome, the stuff online is very cool and easy to use to a coputer dumbo like me, n the fact that I`d also just baught a new laptop and the Mustang2 has a USB connection was amajor selling point for me, and I can safely say that after playing guitar for 32yrs Ive finally found an amp that I am instantly impressed with, so thats my thoughts on the Fender Mustang2 Amp, bloody good bit of kit for £120.

I think it's worth mentioning that the editing software on the computer gives you access to more amp models than you can access on the amp directly, and it also allows you to place four effects before the amp and four effects in the effects loop.

the american ninetees preset is good for soloing and it is also the best metal preset but you should edit the preset so that the reverb or delay is gone and fiddle around with the settings so you find that poweful tone

I'm sure I'll get flayed alive for this but I bought one of these yesterday and DI'ing it through the external out produces nice sounds a hell of a lot more easily and frankly more satisfyingly than my Axe-FX II (which can take months to tweak a preset to my taste - with this it takes about three seconds). They're not perfect sounds of course, but yeah.

we were invited to play at an outdoor event and what they had for the guitar was this amp... I thought it would not cut it... but it did. at this event I played bass amy my buddy took on the guitar. he played a Gibson LP with high gain humbuckers (oversized poles - not sure what they are called) and just an OCD pedal, used mustly for lead as boost/slight overdrive in addition to the crunch coming from the amp. I usually dismiss digital effects and amp modeling because, well... its not the same... but this little guy is really impressive... especially when it comes to rolling back the volume.. which is when you realize the power of a Tube amp... but the mustang at this event handled it well... we were able to roll back the volume to around a 3 or 4 to get clean tone and still were loud enough and crisp to be heard. mind this was a small event, but in larger venues it should be just fine miked into a console. This is why I'm looking for more reviews and demos... I might just get one of these.

PRS has an amp called MDT that stands for Marshall Dumble Tweed but those names are not used in the actual description of the amp or name or they could be sued by Marshall, Dumble amps, and Fender for using their tweed trademark.

Can you cut our all of the distortion and just get a good clean amplifier sound on the Amp. I don't alike all the distortion , it sounds like a broken amp.

If you press the TAP button when turning on the amp, all the simulation and effects will turn off.

i got some really cool tones out of the super sonic setting with like a half second delay

  • @DJ_UKINSELKA

Yes, but you have to play around for a LONG time with the settings. I have experience from fender g dec 30 connected to boss me25, and it was really hard to get a good distortion out of it. But i recommend that you stick with this amps distortions, since it has pretty good ones in it. :)

how to get rid of that buzz noisy sound

    • @josephginder4020
      @josephginder4020 6 лет назад +1

Shazol Hussain a guitar with humbucker pickups will have no noise. Single coil pickups will have that noise
