    ABOUT THIS FILM
    ____________________
    A riot of colour
From noisy parakeets, to colourful toucans; slouching sloths, to spectacled owls, the tree canopies are a riot of noise and colour, whilst on the forest floor agoutis and ants feed furiously.
    Forest canopy wildlife
Located high above Panama's tropical jungles, is Panama's very own version of a cloud forest. Here the air is cool, the rivers raging, and the wildlife incredible. Join me as I get to know the wealth of creatures that live here.
    Canopy lodge
My hosts at Canopy Lodge (canopytower.com/canopy-lodge/) put out fruit feeders so that their guests can sit back and take in the unbelievably beautiful array of brightly-coloured birds that clamour round to tuck in.
    Bird visitors
Watch as I learn to spot red-crowned woodpeckers, keel-billed toucan, crimson-backed tanager, orange-chinned parakeet, tawny-capped euphonia and gray-headed chachalaca.
    High in the canopy
Meanwhile further afield my guide shows me a spectacled owl chick, a gray-headed kite and a super-sleepy three toed sloth swinging nonchantly in the tree canopy - look out for a baby sloth, tucked into its mothers arms.
    Forest floor
Below, the pace is more frantic, with leafcutter ants marching in unision, a common basilisk scudding over a stream and a characterful Central American agouti who never stops munching and makes me laugh as it sees off a brilliantly-coloured rufous motmot that comes too close to its food!

To walk in your footsteps, yes, many would follow. The abundance of wildlife is truly an inspiration to rejoice. What amazes me most are the smallest creatures to the tallest mountains with each having its place in our world. It is worth saving and protecting every species. Thank you for your superb editing and flavor of Panama's gift. One individual's childhood dreams has become become a powerful fountain of wildlife advocacy, education and conservation. Thank you, sir and to all who are on the team. Words will never be able to express my thoughts/feelings/appreciation.

A few years ago I spent 3 weeks camping on the caribbean side in the jungle of Panama. When we set up the tent all the organizers told us was: pick any spot you like, just make sure it is not directly under a coconut tree. After a few days the animals got more used to us and howler monkeys would hang directly over our tent, waking us in the morning with their characteristic calls. I was also amazed by the leafcutter ants, which followed exactly the same trail over these 3 weeks, as if they were on a highway. We also saw many pelicans and at night usually armies of crabs the size of a big hand with a slightly blue shell (which was always a shock when you turned on your flashlight and found your awning occupied by a few of those and they moved backwards). What I loved most was the sound of the rain forest at night, it was buzzing, really indescribable, but not scary at all, a very nice sound to go to sleep by. Someone also saw a blue morpho butterfly, which I sadly missed, but he said its wingspan was enormous and the cobalt blue colour made it seem almost unnatural or photoshopped. Seeing such animals in their natural habitat is really an amazing experience.

Dat animal dat looks like a capybara in your video is very much like our local/Malaysian mousedeer(known to b very wise and cunning in local folklore) or called kancil locally. D toucans' beaks look as if someone decided to paint on them with colourful paints and uneven design.

Yes Agouti’s are like a mini capybara but yes a bit like a mousedeer too they are great fun to watch I have lots of footage of them to share next two Panama videos coming on the 29th December and 5th January 🐜🦜🦥

Great Video Robert! I noticed you using the 200mm-600mm Sony lens! I also noticed you using a 100-500mm Canon RF Lens is that possible. I've used many Supertelephotos throughout my Career in Hawaii shooting Extreme Water Sports.

Yes Sony 200-600 the other lens is also a Sony 100-400
I switched from canon in 2019 and haven’t regretted it in the slightest
I love the Sony camera and the 200-600 lens is incredible for what I do I use
a1’s and a7s mark 4 bodies the dynamic range is amazing on these cameras

Nice collection. You definitely need to have insurance on that gear as you travel about. Excellent photography.
