Hi neil, yeah we stayed up at bemm a few weeks ago, was amazing. So many good catches and memorable moments. Cant wait to head back up and give places like Tanboon, gippy lakes and Tambo a really good go next time
Fishing is still great up here. In the main lakes from king to metung to paynesville to tambo and Mitchell. Mouth. Pivking up Tailor at 50c 70cm flatties and 40c bream are all standards on a good day out. Land based if you know where to go. We have been blessed with a lovely winter. Been getting the odd Mulloway in the main lakes and that was previously unheard of. There are a lot of big bream now due to the oversize cannot keep rule which is really good (eagle point resident).
Wow thats amazing Peter. It sure is an amazing part of the world. Glad to hear its fishing well. I could spend a life time fishing all the amazing systems up there. Cant wait to get back that way soon.
Really enjoyed this EP … could almost feel the excitement with a couple of those takes. I’m a bit spoilt being able to walk out my back door and get a 40cm Bream or 60cm flatty at Lake Munmorah; but you need to take a trip to Lake Macquarie … if you don’t get an 80cm flatty (or better) on an outing you end up a bit disappointed. Keep the vids coming 👍🏻
Thanks so much. Yeah from Melb we generally have to travel a fair way to fish amazing estuaries like this. Wow you are very lucky if you have a system so close to you with some amazing fish like that.
Great Footage, really enjoyed that, it gets me amped at how excited you got at that top water take from agro tailor. You could hear how aggressive it was on the take. Thanks heaps learnt a tonne from watching all your vids.
Thanks !! Really appreciate the comment. Yeah that top water tailor hit was insane, it hit the lure and leapt about 2 meters in the air at the same time, I've never had a top water hit like it, spewing the POV cam was off. Thanks for the nice comments about the channel
Just repaired a Daiwa Steez 2500 15.4 drag mag-sealed reel by contacting Daiwa for parts, and bought an Abu Garcia Veritas 4.0, 3-6kg to pair with it. I feel like a seasoned fisherman with this quality gear, I've been using an old broken rod paired with a new Daiwa Crossfire LT 2500 4BS A. The Crossfire seems a little janky, it gets a little hung up at the start of every expedition, but performs throughout once I push through it being slightly ceased. At least now I have two usable setups. Thanks Alan for your videos man. I couldn't count the amount of times I've been to your website for information.
@@fishingmad Just back to Scotland from our trip to Melbourne. We had a session on the Maribyrnong right next to the racecourse and got nothing (nice day though!) but we had a day's fishing in Warrnambool on the way back from Adelaide and caught 6 bream. What a great day.
Hey mate, great video as usual. I was curious as to your opinions on the fish finder on your kayak, do you find yourself using it often? Obviously in this video you do make some use of it but generally speaking do you find yourself reading the environment a bit more? Cheers!
Hi Daniel, I have the lowrance elite FS sounder. I really love having it but i find its more important in certain situations. In the bay inshore waters its so helpful to find fish, identify reefs, mark waypoints where as in estuary systems like this i like to fish more of feel. Covering ground, hitting the banks and rely a lot less on the sounder. Hope that helps
Hi Riley, I have done a lot of fishing tutorials for freshwater fishing too. Is that what you had in mind. Let me know and i can provide some answers for you
Hi John, I got it from BCF about 12 months ago. They had those and some light blue camo ones with a hoodie which were really good. BCF have them on sale regularly so keep an eye out for that
Another nice vid Al...I don't own a boat or kayak can I shore fish this area...cheers...I have a NSW fishing license...that ok or will I need a Vic. one to fish there...
Hi Grant, you will need a VIC licence but they are cheap and I think you can buy daily, weekly or yearly to keep the costs down. You can buy them online from the VFA website
I've been using the peddles the last 6 months, only reason as it helps me stay fit and i have been fishing in some shallow systems. I still have the trolling motor which works great.
i understand why people like bemm river but i think everyone should have a go at tamboon on flats around there i have went there and averaged multiple 42plus bream
Nice fishing session on the YAKS boys... Thumbs UP...
Thanks 👍
Hey you are down in my area great fishing you will really enjoy Bemm river also Wigan river and inlet.

Hey alan, random question but will you ever do a freshwater fishing guide based around melbourne and the mornington peninsular?
Hi Riley, I have done a lot of fishing tutorials for freshwater fishing too. Is that what you had in mind. Let me know and i can provide some answers for you
Hi Alan where did you get the Savage camo shirt you are wearing. Thanks John

Hello freind, do you still use your trolling motor or are you back to the pedals because the motor is more trouble then anything ?
I've been using the peddles the last 6 months, only reason as it helps me stay fit and i have been fishing in some shallow systems. I still have the trolling motor which works great.

Were hoping to get up to Tamboon on our next trip up that way
What jig head weight and hook size for bream. Wanna know because I am going to the Maribyrnong tommorow
We were using 1/20 is size 1-0
i thought it was hard catching tailor in Gippsland lakes
There are plenty of tailor in the system, some big ones too. They love surface lures and shallow divers.
