Brah be sleepin' on Mega Charizard Y... Its design is the natural evolution of Charizard where it finally loses the beer gut - becoming sleek and aerodynamic, increasing its flying prowess to Top Gun Maverick levels!
Sceptile has a poor movepool for being a special attacker..it should get it's offensive stats switched..moreover, it should also get a useful ability cus I'm pretty sure that no one is going to use an electric type move on a Pokemon that resists it 4 times. It's my favourite Pokemon in anime, but I unfortunately can't use it much in games since it's movepool and stats..
Kangaskhan might be an uninteresting design to some but it was probably single handedly the most overpowered mega evolution (other than the legendaries)
I always felt that Mega Charizard Y was not shown enough.It looks cool,has a really OP ability and monstrous special attack.I really want to see it animated and i am not talking about the joke that got 1 shot by a same type attack

For one there are so many Megas I forgot about, but a funny thing about this list is how wildly different it is from my opinions. I think the simpler designs like Mega Venusaur and Charizard Y are so much better than the overly complicated ones like Lucario. Like its called Mega Evolution, so I get people expecting a 4th stage looking form, but its not a full evolution and its temporary, so having these crazy drastic changes feels off in practice. And as much as I agree about the design of Mega Sceptile, he gets totally screwed over stats and movewise. He has an almost entirely physical moveset, but then his Mega only boosts his Special Attack. I tried using it in a playthrough of Alpha Sapphire and its was just a pathetic struggle to get anything out of it. However in other media its amazing, like in Pokken Tournament where they aren't constrained by actual base stats.
I completely understand why you, me and most of the pokemon fans hate mega gyarados but I understand why they decided to make mega G look like that.. The design of gyarados was originally inspired from a shrimp 🦐 and the normal gyarados looks more like a dragon 🐉 that's why everyone one of us wish it had dragon type but they wanted to redeem that quality of design of a shrimp 🦐 and made mega gyarados look like that and I honestly don't understand why they gave it a dark type though 💀💀
Hard disagree. Sure, it's fine if it's all personal opinion. As a person studying character design in games, most of the evolutions near the bottom are just fine. Personally, what makes a Mega design a "good one" is either how they twist and exaggerate the theme of the Pokemon's design, or how they make it cooler while retaining simplicity (ex. Mega Charizard and Mega Swampert). The twist on Mega Camerupt's having greater emphasis on the volcano theme while keeping it simple is what makes it a well-designed Mega. Mega Blastoise and Mega Sceptile also follow this idea.
Mega evolutions in X and Y/ Omega ruby and alpha sapphire: "Yay, you're pokemon can do this cool mega evolve thing because you have such a strong bond with them" Mega evolutions in Ultra moon and Ultra sun: "Wouldn't it be cool if you could forcibly break this Glalies jaw against it's will?"

Mega Tyranitar looks like they wanted to make Godzilla, but pulled back _just_ enough to avoid legal issues with Toho. Also, Mega Manectric looks like Manectric went Super Saiyan 3.
I still haven't forgiven the creators for skiping Gen 2 starters, i've heard people complaining about how bad Meganium is for the lonhest time and they decided to waste time on audino and giving megas to pokemon that don't even evolve in the first place, some of them, especialy Mawile's look like what an actual evolution should've been
I super disagree with the design comment early on. I think mega evolution should specifically look like the previous version as much as possible, with things added on to make it feel new but still the same. Otherwise why call it a mega and not just add additional evolutionary chain? That's why Kangaskan and say Ampharos or Blastoise are some of the best mega designs out there.
Mega slowbro is king 😂 my favourite Pokémon of all times goes Slowpoke to slowbro and to finally Mega Slowbro as a young lad 23 years ago I fell in love with Slowbro was so glad that it got a mega so very deserving and when you see the derpy face becoming a whirlwind death just wow 10-10 😊
If you want a real legit reason to hate Mega Garchomp, just look at the shiny. The purple is a huge improvement when you compare it to normal Mega Garchomp, normal Garchomp, and even shiny Garchomp, but that near neon bright magenta completely destroys it. If they went with a shade of turquoise instead of that bright magenta so it contrasts with the orange, it would’ve looked so much better. That’s just my opinion though.
I completely disagree with this L list, No one really cares that much about there designs. Its really about there strengths I guess. I mean having a mega Pokemon with a cool mega design is great to have on your team, But designs don't improve there stats. Would have been cool if Gyarados grew some arms (like not regular arms something like Shenron's arms from Dragonball Z) and had the dragon typing. Maybe he also looks more scaley now since he's realized his dragon potential. Always love Gyarados as he's one of my fav all time. Love that they made a pokemon around the legend of the carp who tries to climb a waterfall in hopes of becoming a dragon. That concept combined with just being a really good pokemon who is easily accessible through most of the games makes him so damn iconic.
Mega absol's problem is that his hair and horn look weird. The solution is to just invert regular absol's yin yang by making the horn face forward and the hair backwards.

I'd have Beedrill much higher. The design is solid but why I think it's so good is because they took an absolute dogshit pokemon and with just an ability change and an extra hundred stats turned him into an absolute monster of a pokemon. Maybe you aren't taking their viability into consideration but I certainly am.
I feel like mega swampert is a love or hate pokemon, and while I personally don't like it, (I think it's a little too goofy looking), I understand why some people like it so much.
