I’m female .. I’m almost 60 years old. Your videos are sooo easy to follow . Watching your videos have made it so easy to update my 2007 Honda which I drive on a daily basis !! Please keep them coming!!
I've recently learned that Flossers make for great plastic pry tools. The plastic is softer than the plastic in your car and they're cheap so you can use as many as you want at once. Just keep cramming them into the seams until the part pops out
Thanks for showing me how to open the vents, I'm trying to figure out why the center vents have weak airflow and I wanna see inside if theres anything blocking air from coming in Most appreciated
Use a plastic putty knife / plastic spatula to make the initial gap, then use one of these tool increase the gap and slowly pry out the vent. Once one clip is loose do the other side.
Cool, basically I want to clean the inside of my vent system to help rid of the stank smell that comes out of it when I turn the vent/AC on. Is this the way to do it? And if so, if I clean the vent system will it get rid of the stank smell? Thanks.
That's one way to do it. However, that foul, moldy smelling odor that comes from your air conditioner when you first turn it on (known as the "dirty sock syndrome", is caused by the build up of mold and bacteria in your vents and on your evaporator coil. Read the following article on how to fix it: www.carsdirect.com/car-maintenance/weird-car-air-conditioner-smell-what-it-means-and-how-to-fix-it
EyeOnAiman the funny thing is, I have a 2001 Honda Accord and I notice the smell when the vent (no AC) is turned on. Then after about 30 secs the smell goes away. When I turn on the AC I never smell the odor.
dentingtrack well the smell has long gone away. Turns out there was a fucking cat that pissed on my windshield and it went down into the vent system just under my hood. Took about a month for the smell to go away. 🤷🏽♂️. Now the smell is back to my normal old dusty, old skin flakes smell. 😂
Aiman, Could you please show me clearly how to remove the driver side dash. It really helps people who is trying for the first time. apprecite your help
Sorry for the late reply. I have several videos on how to remove most of components on the driver side dash. We haven't remove the entire dashboard itself, but we have videos on how to remove the steering wheel, gas / brake pedals, kick panel, instrument cluster etc on this channel.
Man, I've just done that centre console before I watched your video - to remove it, I strongly advise not to use pry tools on the sides like you did because you'll damage the dashboard, exactly as you've done. What you needed to do was put a thin spreading knife along the bottom edge and assist it first by that, and THEN use Pry tools along the bottom edge. Eventually that centre part will pop up and you then pull it up and towards you. No damage done to the sides of the dash where that centre meets.
We didn't get the chance to complete the dismantling of the car because we moved on to the Prius that my dad bought from a friend. We're planning to complete the project sometimes in the next few months. My dad said that to remove the blower motor you might have to use dremmel tool to cut the plastic frame, but he's not to sure because he didn't take a closer look at it yet. Thanks for watching
I need to replace the center vent and hazard switch piece on my 09 Accord. The piece itself is separated from the rest of the console but how much of the dash do I need to remove in order to actually do this?
My dad bought this car from a friend to use as spare parts for my brother's 2003 Honda Accord. This car needs a new engine, but everything else is fine. While taking the parts out from this car, my dad decided that it would be beneficial if he could teach me how to take apart a car since it doesn't matter if I made mistakes. It is the best way to learn, at my own time and at home. Imagine having to go through mechanic school, that could be expensive. Besides I love taking apart stuffs and marvel at what's inside and how they were made / designed. At the same times I figured I could help other people who have the same car and wanting to know how to remove, replace or install various parts and components inside the car, and that's why we made DIY videos to help them. If a 14-year old can do it, other people should be able to do it as well...
Can I change the leather next to the passenger side and next to the dash it looks ugly because I was trying to take out the main 2 air conditioner vents
Hi Aiman: Question for you! The top console piece that you have off in the video with the hazard button has a orange OFF light right above it. Right above this orange light is apparently a white bulb that simply lights up the words passenger airbag as long as there's no problem. Is it possible to replace the bulb that lights up passenger airbag? I believe this bulb is about gone on mine. Only a couple of the letters seem to show up well at night. I know it doesnt functionally matter but would be interesting to know if its replaceable. I do not see a way to get to it from underneath when I pop the panel cover off. Im tempted to just pry around outside on the almost sqaure piece that has the passenger airbag lettering. What do you think?
Hey did you ever get the leather fixed or not? I am on the same boat as you right now. It looks like crap because I installed an aux cord in the back of the radio
This is not how you should remove the vents. The clips are accessible from inside the vent holes. You are damaging the dash by using the plastic tools on the side of the center vents. You can clearly see where it is now bent out of proper shape.
Depends how much force the vent requires. I've removed plenty of vents without warping or damaging surrounding dash. Also depends on material used for surrounding dash. I say, good job kid keep making helpful videos.
I probably could do a video on that, we have a couple of cars with the inner roof still intact, but I'm curious as to why would anyone want to remove the inner roof? They're just foam padding with layer of fabric. Not sure if the inner roof is replaceable...
It's a good video to watch how things come apart, but I agree, this type of butchery is fine if you're dismantling a car for the breakers yard or for spares.
Smart and intelligent young man. Good job Lil Cuh (cuz/cousin)!

I love you man you made this radio install 10x easier

Cheers mate appreciate it 5 years later
Thank you 👍

Most appreciated
Bro, I wish you were my next door neighbor. I could definitely use your help on fixing my middle air vent.
Are ur middle vents not working either 😂
Good video young lad. 👍

@@jeffreywhitaker5154 That is very strange. I'm really not sure what might have caused it. Hopefully you'll rid of the smell eventually....
@@jeffreywhitaker5154i have an 01 aswell, i notice the same thing

Do you have any videos on getting to the blower motor or the flap accuator?

What is on top of the middle air vent?
that is a stick on smooth surface for gps suction cups or cell holders. i have one not used it yet
